New Moon in Pisces & Lunar Cycle

This New Moon will be completing a lunar cycle that started last September that has impacted those of us with personal planets and angles between 27 & 29 degrees. For me this included Uranus activating the Moon’s Nodes plus the IC and MC in my chart. So I have a new bathroom, very good; a new career, also very good; my mother is dying, not so good; and many, many adjustments in perception, very good in the long term but not pleasant in the doing.

One big perceptual change involved realizing what was really coming in as opposed to what I thought was going to happen. I had hoped to return to weaving, knitting, etc as a vocation but am now realizing that wasn’t to be. We are given clues as to where we need to be putting our energy and getting paid for writing is a definite “Hello!!” Now I am committed to that path to the point of needing to practice some serious time management. With the Nodes being directly impacted by Uranus, it always pays to look at where the North Node wants our attention to go . . . and the writing assignments fit my Gemini North Node perfectly. Going back to the solitary activity of my crafts plays into the South Node in my first that just loves to spend time contemplating the Universe in glorious solitude. 🙂

It does help that the Grand Cross formed in my chart by the Nodes and my MC & IC is in Mutable signs. I have enough Fixed energy in my chart that making changes in direction takes awhile . . .

As always please go read Lisa Dale Miller’s Moon Messages plus the others on my side bar. As Joe pointed out, Lisa’s take on this New Moon is very, very good. As this New Moon/Eclipse is ending a lunar cycle, when the Sun rolls into Aries this year on March 21st, we will get a serious energy boost to new plan, projects, etc. Something to look forward to! 🙂

Here is a snip from one of two articles by the ladies over on Moon Circles. They have some excellent insights into what can be a life-changing New Moon . . .

Pisces New Moon:Coming Clean by Simone Butler

“This month’s Pisces New Moon offers a chance to consciously engage with our darkness, no matter how unsavory, and bring it into the light. Falling at the tail end of the last sign of the zodiac, this New Moon symbolizes the completion of ancient karmic patterns. Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, squares the Sun and Moon—a planetary push to detoxify from old internal programming that has held us back for ages. Although this is not a total eclipse, the activation from Pluto gives it a comparable level of intensity. Pluto takes us down deep into our cells to find both the pain and passion lurking there. It’s time to release the illusion of separation from Source and step forward as conscious co-creators of our lives . . . . . . snip”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now . . . Happy B-Day, Casey!!! May this upcoming year be one that brings you what you’ve always secretly dreamed about! Here is the general weekly Solar Return from Skywatch Publications:
“You have been shaken and stirred over the past few years, Pisces, as Pluto has squared your Sun. This heavy death/rebirth time is still going on for those born at the end of this week, but you will all share in the wealth of a powerful Jupiter Saturn trine in your new Solar Return, or astrological chart of your new year. This trine is noted for creating the perfect solutions”being in the right place at the right time. Likely it will require work and your willingness to make some changes as electric Uranus, with alternating current, sits next to your Sun in this new SR. This is a year to experiment and to explore new cities, ideas, jobs and plans for the future. Take some time to get off by yourself, Pisces, and take stock of your situation. Make a priority list and take action on the top line”now.”
After looking at your Solar Return chart on Astrodienst I would add that with Saturn on the ASC, it looks like good old fashioned elbow grease will bring great rewards this year. As you are a most capable astrologer, check it out for yourself!! 🙂
The crocus are starting to really bloom now! Yay! The best sign Spring is coming soon!!
  1. ah, thanks, neith. things are feeling all shook up for me at the moment with the big company merger and all. My own department is really slack at the moment after years of overwork. It’s kind of scary. Plus I’m trying to see a lot of my grandbabies, especially Pookie, and frankly I’m kind of worried about him. He’s almost three and is not forming sentences yet. His vocabulary is not huge and he’s not verbal (other than “Come here!”) His mother is starting to worry about autism, so I’m starting to worry too. Though he’s quite bright musically (this is the baby who was entranced by Mozart at 4 months — watching his Baby Mozart tape for 30 minutes at a time which is just unheard of attention span for a baby). And I’m trying to get him to like the Beatles so I played the new “Love” album for him in the car. I started at the beginning where they sing a capella and then a guitar chord (the one jangly one for “Hard Day’s Night”) crescendos…and then Ringo starts the drumming and the music segues into “Get Back”. lol (Thank goodness you don’t have a 1000 character limit on comments!)ANYWAY, as soon as the drumming started, I heard laughing and clapping in the back seat. And the next day, he was singing “Get back! Get back!” even though he had only heard it two or three times. So OBVIOUSLY he likes the Beatles! (Grandma beams with pride!)So sorry to hear about your mom. So hard. I’m still stopping in here a lot but I’ve just not been as verbal since September (so that’s how the big opposition hit me — it struck me dumb. Except on the subject of color.).I find I don’t like change as much as I did when younger…old age setting in. But perhaps it’s because I have made a comfortable existence at this point and don’t feel the need for change as much. I am…content. So I’ll work on retaining my sense of adventure. Or regaining it. I seem to have lost it since the big dumping a year and a half ago. But I’m good. Much less angst. Love your new little crocuses? It’s full-blown spring here and today’s a gloriously sunny day after yesterday’s storms!
  2. Speaking of Grand Crosses…I was thinking about Joni Mitchell today (because my fave DJ was playing a Crosby, Stills& Nash song and I think it was one of their songs about her. I mean, she DID manage to go through the entire group and Neil Young. And that is very interesting astrologically speaking because she’s a Scorpio. And they are all a different fixed sign. Well I’m not sure about Steven Stills. I THINK he’s a Taurus but I also have a niggling memory that he’s a Cancer. Anyway, Crosby is a Leo. And Nash is an Aquarian. And Young is a Scorpio. And if Stills IS a Taurus, isn’t it interesting how the group forms a Grand Cross? And also, so interesting, that she said recently that of all her lovers (and she had a LOT of lovers), her very FAVORITE one was James Taylor. The best one, she said. And HE’S a Pisces.Just another bit of obscure rock’n’roll astrological trivia. hee.
  3. And the next day, he was singing “Get back! Get back!” even though he had only heard it two or three times. So OBVIOUSLY he likes the Beatles! (Grandma beams with pride!)Does Pookie have any siblings? Sometimes they don’t start talking because they don’t have too . . . their needs are being met without them having to articulate them! 🙂 So I’ll work on retaining my sense of adventure. Or regaining it. I seem to have lost it since the big dumping a year and a half ago. But I’m good. Much less angst.This sounds good! Seeing that Saturn on the ASC of your Solar Return fits with the changes in the workplace & you having to just keep on keeping on to see it through. The other thing that the Elements in the Solar chart indicate is this will be a time of subtle adjustment rather than initiating big changes. Like the sound of that?! 🙂 And also, so interesting, that she said recently that of all her lovers (and she had a LOT of lovers), her very FAVORITE one was James Taylor. The best one, she said. And HE’S a Pisces.Ha! James Taylor has always been a favorite of mine. I had the good fortune to see him twice in concert. . . my S/O at the time was a Pisces musician. Joni Mitchell also wrote & sang some great stuff. The 70’s were wild times . . . 🙂
  4. Yes, the new baby came in September (remember the double Virgo with sag rising?) My thinking is that Pookie has regressed a bit because the new baby takes up so much of mom’s attention. Also he’s spending a lot of time at nursery school with 3 year-olds who are all quite verbal. He’s doing that pseudo-language where they chatter to themselves in their own language. Unfortunately, this seems to be something autistic children tend to do. Then they begin to live in their own internal world. And this is the age when many autistic kids are diagnosed. The way it works is that the hemispheres of the brain are not making proper connections — the language part in the frontal lobe is not processing properly and what they THINK they are saying is not what we are hearing. He does seem to be an auditory learner — when he repeats his little lessons, he looks down and repeats them, like he’s listening very hard. But obviously, he’s a good natural mimic with that natural pitch that Taureans seem to have. His “Get back!” was perfectly in tune. His chart? Taurus with Scorpio rising and Aries Moon. Merc. in Aries. Venus in Gemini. He has Uranus in Pisces (conjunct my Venus), Neptune in Aquarius, Mars/Saturn conjunct (wide) in Cancer. N. N. in Taurus in the 6th.I don’t know. With that Aries Merc. I would think he should be quite verbally lively (he is physically lively!) The aspects to it are good, mostly sextiles and trines except a square to Chiron in Cappy in the 2nd. Pluto in Sag in the 1st.hmmm…any ideas you have will be appreciated. I keep telling myself that Einstein didn’t talk till he was 3 either but Einstein was obviously off in the outer solar system playing with Neptune. As a Pisces babies he probably thought it was too mundane to have to speak. Couldn’t his mother just read his mind?
  5. Ha!Ha! I’m reading the astrodienst synopsis of his chart and this was the first thing I read:”You are rather quiet and reserved, but others see clearly that you have deep emotions and feelings, even though you may not say very much. But you do find it difficult to make yourself understood to people.”
  6. Seems to be my day for dumping on you…so I read the lunar forecasts for the eclipse. And they kept saying to think back to March 1988 to see how we were affected last time this cycle was here. Well 1988 was the worst year of my life. I got dumped, laid off, hired by my current company but had nothing to do for six months, my old office-mate died of cancer, my beloved cat died, I started eating valium like candy, my best friend moved to Washington DC, and I went into the darkest black hole of a depression…I think I did nothing but cry for months and months. uh. oh.
My mom told me I was much slower to start talking than my older sister & I have that Scorp ASC. And I agree about the new baby drawing all the attention. I’m not sure if there is an astro signiture for Autism. There may be some research out there somewhere . . .I swear some moms do read their babies minds! 🙂
  8. But you have all your verbal planets in the 12th house…this actually makes sense for you. Merc in the 12th? Selfhood in the 12th? Even Venus in the 12th? But it would be great if we could just cross our fingers and say “Scorpio rising” = non-verbal babies.And some babies read their mother’s minds. I’m sure Einstein probably did. He was always finding stuff “floating in the ether.”
  9. Speaking of new moons in Pisces… I thought this was rather apropos. :o)It’s not mine but I could easily do this.Scroll down a bit to see the Pisces-like eggs. :o)Let’s go!
  10. joe, those eggs are just incredible. What a rich and beautiful heritage, your artwork has…that was like a little birthday present for me this morning. thankx.
  11. Happy Birthday Casey may this year be filled with health, happiness. and only a smidgen of chaos to keep things spicy but not crazy.warm thoughts tseka
  12. Reading…Casey i owe you. You just made a light go off. Most of my life i have had people say i remind them of Joni Mitchell, including a friend of hers i met in Mexico. I thought it was the hair frankly…It came up again recently, and with my new interest in astrology i could look up her chart – her sun is conjoined my Venus. I didn’t know about the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young story…this was the aha…about 25 years ago i found one of these fellows (no names from me) interested, how flaberghasting was that???? me??? Now it all makes sense the “Joni” connection. Man is astrology something? It is a Leo in my life now who recognized the “Joni” in me. It will not surprise you to know that he has the same degree Asc in Sco. Are we all really so easy to put into patterns?
  13. Scroll down a bit to see the Pisces-like eggs. :o)Glorious, Joe! So sorry to hear about the humpty-dumpty your beautiful egg did. . . 😦 The patterns are still there in you though & will ask to put another one, though maybe not in eggactly the same way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~But it would be great if we could just cross our fingers and say “Scorpio rising” = non-verbal babies.Consider mine crossed!! I’m sure you’re done your research into autism and will be watching the little sweetie closely. And I have seen other first borns revert to “baby” behaviors to regain attention lost to the newest arrival! There is something so appealing about the littles . . . doting grandmother just got more pictures . . . :-)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Are we all really so easy to put into patterns?Good Morning tseka!!! Doesn’t surprise me one of those wild & crazy creative types found you enticing. :-)One of the things I love about astrology are those patterns. Sometimes they are not easy to identify but they’re there. Sometimes it’s a pattern of dissonance rather than harmony too. There are patterns formed of an “absence” of patterns too (negative space). I have a fondness of mechanics, having helped rebuild & repair various machines over the years, including my spinning wheels & looms. The common factor is they ALL work when put together correctly!!
  14. Tseka, thank you for the good wishes…I like chaos but I like chaos I can float with…I don’t think it’s just the hair — it’s the eyes. You have eyes that are very like hers…and hers always seem very wise to me. Plus she mostly paints these days…so she’s artistic too.And I looked up Stephen Stills and he’s a Capricorn. which blows my Grand Cross theory. They are all artistic types anyway. Nash takes lovely photographs. He does a show these days with rock’n’rollers, discussing how their songs came to be written. I HAVE been reading about autism, and Pookie seems to have trouble EXPRESSING himself…however, he understands when he is spoken to. He loves to be read to and likes to finish the last word on each page. (His favorite book is that book that jm kept posting pics for last fall about the auntie napping and about to wake! The Napping House. I thought the illustrations were so cute, I gave it to him for Xmas and now it’s his favorite.) And he seems to be very musical. Plus I’m getting the Yoga for Kids! dvds this week and we’ll do that together. I think he just needs more attention and he may be shy (though how can a Gemini venus be shy?) at school…
  15. I think he just needs more attention and he may be shy (though how can a Gemini venus be shy?) at school…With a new baby in the house he can absorb lots of attention from grandmother! He’s very lucky you’re there for him. As to being shy at school – now that is a Scorp ASC thing. It can be less about being shy as being cautious & checking out the scene carefully before settling in. I was very shy all during elementary & high school. Didn’t really come into my own until I was in college. With that Aries Moon & Gemini Venus his natural sociability will kick in soon . . . 🙂
  16. You’re very welcome, Casey. :o) It was an inadvertent birthday present since I didn’t read the preceding comments before posting the link.Easy enough to recreate that shattered egg, once a prior commitment is completed.Interestingly, juno proposed that it broke to release something powerful. Whether this is true or not, I have to smirk at the irony of a dreamy, almost ethereal creation being abruptly destroyed by something unyielding, when all along I was comparing it to the Saturn/Neptune opposition.
  17. Interestingly, juno proposed that it broke to release something powerful. Whether this is true or not, I have to smirk at the irony of a dreamy, almost ethereal creation being abruptly destroyed by something unyielding, when all along I was comparing it to the Saturn/Neptune opposition.LOL! It really was very beautiful and ethereal is a good description too. The act of creation is sometimes as meaningful as the end result . . . 🙂
  18. The reason I’ve not been tending to my blog recently is my mom slipped away early Saturday morning. We’re doing pretty well all things considered as she gave us time to adjust to her leaving.The New Moon in Pisces/eclipse really did bring a chapter in my life to a close . . . now to see what the new astrological new year will bring in. I’m still processing right now.
  19. Neith, my dearheart.My love flows north to sit with you. Ah my sweetone i hold you close in my heart.
  20. You all are so kind . . . my emotions are in a state of flux now, they come like waves. My family is not given to open displays of emotion (sound familiar, Joe?!) . . . but we are being good to one another now & that helps. We will have a family memorial service around the beginning of June. She requested cremation and my dad decided it would be appropriate to scatter her ashes in her rose garden & we all agreed. Danged if my mom didn’t orchestrate her passing too. Amazing how clear that is looking back over the last months & recent years. I am deeply grateful for my siblings & her thoughtfulness.When I have a moment I will post some astrological notes about the timing.
  21. In honor of Spring I offer a prayer.May the earth and all life be healed. May we be surrounded in the great light of God consciousness. May we move and have our being in It’s protective covering, absorbing into our aura all that is for the greater good, and repelling all other force, including thought force, returning it from whence it came.
  22. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and understanding . . . they touch me more deeply than you know.The prayer for Spring is perfect! Late this afternoon/early evening we are launched into Aries & the new astro New Year. The hills are beginning to green up here & trees just starting to show just a hint of new leaves . . . and it seems I can feel my mom taking great delight in being free! 🙂
  23. Your Mom is more than fine Neith, it is those that miss her that must heal.Blessings to you and all that knew and love her.Astrid
