New Moon in Capricorn Thoughts

We have a New Moon in Capricorn on January 8th at 17° sextile Uranus at 15° Pisces. In a way this is the start of the New Year in an astrological sense and a great time to set out goals for ourselves for 2008. It’s a different world out there now, folks. The Fire sign party is over and we need to be prepared to put forth sustained effort to achieve our dreams. Earth signs are less inclined to be charmed and more inclined to want to see real results.

Uranus sextile this New Moon is a bonus for astrologers and other creative types. We may be able to pull together some very original ideas and uses of technology to get our message out there. This is a very good time to put a business plan together too. But it better be based in hard facts with solid data to back them up because any thing less will not fly now. People will want to see good product for their money and will be willing to support those who can give them that.

Is it possible we are moving into a period where what is real and true is gaining value over cheap and flashy? I discovered I have Pallas in Capricorn in my 2nd House of Values and that’s what gives me the ability to discern what makes a good, no nonsense business plan with no frills but lots of staying power. Jupiter is going to be conjuncting my Pallas by transit in a week or so and I’m going to be paying attention to that!

So let’s sit down and start tuning up our goals with an eye to the practical but remembering to exercise creativity too. The two are not mutually exclusive and in fact, creativity usually thrives when we have boundaries and deadlines to work within. Uranus in Pisces dreams benefit from the New Moon in Capricorn boundaries and willingness to work hard.

A couple of things . . .
1) Please remember to write your abundance checks!
2) As you can see I’ve added links on my sidebar for my favorite astrology reference books if anyone is interested in buying them. Amazon has a lovely system where the host gets paid a nominal sum if the purchaser uses their link. I also added my favorite books on synastry to Neith on Synastry. I’ll be listing various favorites from time to time.
The clouds were moving quickly overhead and I was lucky to catch the Sun playing hide and seek with them.

  1. “Pallas is both the Warrior Woman and the Peaceful General. She is the embodiment of strength and wisdom.Pallas lets us find our inner courage to know we can and will survive life’s battles.”…a definition I found. Pallas in my chart is at 17 degrees cancer, opposite this new moon,my lilith is at 17 degrees libra square the new moon. My Mercury is at 19 degree capricorn conjunct the new moon and my vertex at 19 degree Aquarius. All this with my natal NN and pars fortunae at 29 degree cancer inconjunct the transiting NN at 28 degree Aquarius, inconjunct Pluto at 29 degree Saggi. Is something “Karmic” going to occur? how do I make plans on this new moon. Sorry everyone…but I am feeling a little desperate.

  2. oops, sorry, Hi everyone, thankyou Neith for your blog but I feel like your photo at the moment..a little frazzled and only catching glimpses of the sun amongst the clouds.

  3. Hi Denise – as i was reading the dailies on Star IQ and came across Capricorn’s: You may feel as if your time is running out — and it is. Although others may not understand your predicament, unfinished business can stand between you and your goals. With the Moon back in your sign, expect a higher level of anxiety, moodiness and restlessness. Unless it’s truly urgent, try not to start a new project until after tomorrow’s New Moon. It just seems to fit your situation to a ‘T’! More than anything I feel the best choice you can make for yourself is to believe in yourself. I have great faith in our ability to know what’s best for us as individuals – sometimes all we need to do is take that all important first step.

  4. Happy New Year Neith! I feel like it’s been a while for us. I must mention that this is the first new year that I’ve had absolutely no problem writing down 2008 on all my documents. Its like I’ve been awaiting this year for a long time and am happy to see it. I can definitely feel all the earth, I feel very driven and determined to get stuff done as of late. When I want something I get it, if I need something done,I do it. Its quite nice, though some external factors are putting extra pressure on me to do things that I hadn’t planned on doing so quickly. (ie: Moving out!) Pallas- 7th house Cancer… looking as though it opposes much of my 12th house.. I guess, no one in my life is allowed to take the easy way out of our relationship. We’re gonna fight it out, talk it out, have it out, but something will come out to fix whatever problem we have. Add my Sag honesty to the mix and you can ask my poor Leo partner how fierce I can be. 🙂

  5. Is it possible we are moving into a period where what is real and true is gaining value over cheap and flashy?I wish!! :)I have Pallas in Capricorn too, Neith – are we secretly twins? ;)Ah, time to write down wishes for this New Moon. All this Earth makes a real change from last year.

I was just wondering how you were doing & here you show up!! 🙂 I’m beginning to think there is something about having a progressed Sun in Cappy in particular that is relishing the shift to Earth. So far I’m feeling very comfortable with it. And you think we’re moving now, just wait until Mars goes direct. Here’s something on Pallas in the 7th House:An essential part of your relationships involves the ability to understand and perform traditional roles and yet avoid the stereotyping that so often comes with presumed responsibilities. You’ll find that your ability to stand back and see the situation as a whole benefits everybody, but sometimes at the risk of mutual distancing as well.

  8. I have Pallas in Capricorn too, Neith – are we secretly twins? ;)There are definitely some parallels between our charts that is reflected in our areas on interests . . . 🙂

  9. OK! I’m gonna do just that!Hey Jane!!! Best of luck on achieving your goals this time around!!And here’s a little something on your Pallas . . . =grin=Pallas in ScorpioPassionate involvements can be borderline scary as you enter them with the intensity and clarity of a skilled warrior, blurring the already uncertain borders of love and death. Both have the air of a clinical, therapeutic operation which will be transforming, but only if both parties can handle the heat.

  10. ha hahaha :-DThanks for that little Pallas bit, Neith. As I’m sure you know, it fits me to a T. =grin= indeed! Will use your new links. Thanks for providing them. And if it helps you in the process, all the better! Here’s to business booming for you in 2008!

  11. hej neith happy new moon to you and everybody.I could not get the links for the books to work is it my browser? i have ad blocking. Folk around me are very distressed. Lots of tension. I hope this new moon which marks the lunar new year brings us all the grace to face the moment and move into more peaceful times.

  12. Hi, sweet neith…this is what’s going on around me. Eve the perfect Virgo is travelling and busy as ever. Lee, on the other hand, the Sagitarrian is deeply dissatisfied, especially with work. She’s about ready to quit this line of work — she hates everything she’s doing and hates getting up in the morning. Plus I think she’s bored. She is truly burnt out. All processors go through it at some point. Usually around 10-15 years of processing.I’m still playing the pisces game of sticking my fingers in my ears and singing la-la-la while pursuing all my other little diversions from reality. BTW, my Pallas is in Pisces at 10 degrees in the 11th house with NN, Venus & Sun. Don’t know what that means since it doesn’t conjunct anything.

  13. Do you still get a cut if I buy a used book, or do I need to buy new from Amazon itself?I believe it’s 4% of whatever is purchased but the books need to be purchases using the link on my sidebar – that’s where the code is embedded giving me credit. I’m going to use the credit accumulated to buy more books . . . 🙂

  14. hej neith happy new moon to you and everybody.I could not get the links for the books to work is it my browser? i have ad blocking. Thanks!! And try holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on the link. Most of the time that will work to bypass an ad blocker. If not, you may want to try temporarily suspending your ad blocker . . .Folk around me are very distressed. Lots of tension. I hope this new moon which marks the lunar new year brings us all the grace to face the moment and move into more peaceful times. In some ways, the beginning of 2008 and the end of ’08 will be the most stressful – I’m hoping those astrologers are right!! We can all use a break after ’07.It’s also possible that once people become accustomed to the more deliberate way Earth signs work, life will move more smoothly. In any case, many blessings and good wishes for you and yours . . . 🙂

She’s about ready to quit this line of work — she hates everything she’s doing and hates getting up in the morning. Plus I think she’s bored. She is truly burnt out. Hey Casey!! Eve the Earth sign probably LOVES having all this orderly, pragmatic Earth sign energy. And Lee, the Fire sign, is the one feeling let down from all the excitement of Jupiter in Sagittarius last year. My theory is Fire sign emphasis folks love the adrenaline rush to some degree and dashing around looking busy. While Earth & Water people much prefer to just do what they do without a lot of fuss and bother. Very, very broad generalizations there . . .And here’s what my software says about Pallas in Pisces in the 11th:Pallas in PiscesMuch of magic is just technology yet to be understood, and you can bring order and understanding into areas that were matters only of belief or raw hunch. Just because it’s mystical doesn’t mean there isn’t a pattern and a flow, and that’s where you can put your finger, on the pulse that’s driving the inner organism.Pallas in 11th HouseYou are very aware and protective of your own special circle of friends, which is an important building block in your life. By creative arrangements with those you know you structure both what you do and where you go in life. It’s about more than you, part of an overall movement where each benefits from being a loyal part of the whole.BTW?! I am really finding these Pallas interpretations very fitting. Anyone agree?!
