Full Moon in Virgo

Tomorrow the Moon will be full at 1° Virgo 53′ trine Pluto in Capricorn and conjunct Saturn. Plus this Full Moon is going to be a total eclipse, visible in the skies above North America. Lynn Hayes has a nifty diagram on her blog with links you can follow to get more info on this eclipse path, News of the Upcoming Eclipse. Those of us with planets or Angles from zero to five degrees will be feeling this puppy, especially if said planets and Angles are in Mutable signs or Cardinal (courtesy of Pluto in Capricorn . . .)

There are a lot of other astrologers with a better grasp of the Virgo/Pisces axis than I with my lonely Virgo Midheaven writing about this lunation including a couple of great ones on Moon Circles. For me this Full Moon falls across my 3rd House and 9th House, squaring my Venus in Sagittarius in the first. How I see myself in relation to the greater world is being highlighted and just recently I realized somewhere along the line I had undergone a big change in that area. I have become a comfortable person. It may have something to do with my Ascendant having progressed into Capricorn about the time I got married and now my progressed Sun being there too; and honestly, I’m not quite sure what to make of this transition. It’s like the drama and intensity of Scorpio has slowly washed away exposing the calm, centeredness that lay within, surprising the heck out of me!

Pluto is closely trine this full moon and it would behoove us to pay attention to our emotional house cleaning now because if we don’t, we may be setting ourselves up for a ruder awakening when Pluto forms a T-square with the Full Moon axis March 21st in Aries and Libra!

Vesta is closely conjunct the Sun in Pisces for this lunation and it so happens I have Vesta in Pisces in my natal chart trine Mars/Mercury in Scorpio. I’m very much in the learning phase when it comes to the asteroids and thought I’d share the interpretation from my software on Vesta in Pisces (let me know if you would like info on your Vesta):

Vesta in Pisces
A pursuit of the purely spiritual can become a deep focus in your life if you allow it, perhaps even to the exclusion of more mundane things that really do matter in everyday life. Taken in context, however, it gives you the ability to penetrate to the heart of dreams and bring out their essential meanings.

Now that both Mercury and Mars are direct, we can use the power of this eclipse to move ahead on our path! Now I will find out if having transiting Neptune exactly square my Mercury will allow me to “see” my way or whether I will have to do as the Fool does and take the next step forward with faith . . . 😀

This is another photo of the Full Moon in Leo – leave it to Leo to provide plenty of opportunities to make the most of a photo op! 🙂

  1. Well, I’m doing a Virgo Moon thing today! I’m starting to clean out my office for the move next week. I intend to only take one box and the xm radio docking system. And the posters. All 13 of them. And all the little postcard size art too. Everybody is making massive amounts of fun of me because my office is so full of ME!I am also compulsively pulling the booklets out of all the CD jewel cases and putting them into the CD wallets. Organization! It’s a Virgo thing!

  2. Pluto is closely trine this full moon and it would behoove us to pay attention to our emotional house cleaning nowThat’s what I hired you for! :-DSee! My timing is IMPECCABLE!! 😀

  3. It’s like the drama and intensity of Scorpio has slowly washed away exposing the calm, centeredness that lay within, surprising the heck out of me!I can’t stop reading that one sentence.Am ~I~ getting close to that place?Man, I wanna join you there!!(Seriously… I know I’m not… ~sigh~)

  4. Ooh, thanks for the offer — can I hear about my Vesta? It’s in Cancer, somewhere between the 8th and 9th houses (close to cusp) and is at the midpoint of my Moon/Jupiter trine, sextiling both and inconjunct my Sun. Maybe more info than needed…:-)

  5. My Vesta? OMG, this is making laugh so hard…3 degrees Virgo.ROFL!!! Saturn is heading back to conjunct your Vesta too. Here’s some info on your Vesta . . .Vesta in VirgoThe minutes and seconds of the day can become like weeks or months when you throw yourself into doing something, however small, that requires your full attention. Similarly, your ability to focus on the needs of others can make you forget your own situation and the housework you might have otherwise been attending to.Vesta in 5th HouseThe play’s the thing for you, once you get into it, and nobody can get more involved with the creative Muse, up close, than you. It can be like possession, and therefore extraordinary, but it can also take you beyond your destination if you don’t keep an eye out for which station is your stop.

  6. See! My timing is IMPECCABLE!! :-DAstrology rules!! BTW, Vesta is a very important player in your chart . . . Man, I wanna join you there!!you will, you will . . .

  7. Ooh, thanks for the offer — can I hear about my Vesta? It’s in CancerHi I. said…Sure, here is Vesta in Cancer and in the 8th House:Vesta in CancerYour focus tends to be very personal and internalized, marked by emotional hypersensitivity and the inclination to identify with the feelings of others as if they were your own. This allows for great insight and the ability to help those who need understanding, but it can also sometimes overwhelm your more general agenda in the process.Vesta in 8th HouseEverything old is new again, or can be once you set your sight on it, because you value neglected resources and are ready to tap into what others have to offer, often more than they know it. In the process of looking at outer possibilities, what has been there in your pocket all along may get overlooked. And if you wish for more feedback on your chart, please feel free to email me your birth data! neithnet@gmail.com

  8. Oh my, there’s always so much information to consider! It must be my Gemini-Sag nodal axis that makes me all dizzy when I read this kind of post. lolI don’t remember where my Vesta is? What does “she” represent anyway? The name suggests morning or dawn. But I do have Lilith in the first degrees of Pisces. There’s another one I need to look at more closely.Wonderful photo!

  9. I don’t remember where my Vesta is? What does “she” represent anyway? The name suggests morning or dawn.LOL! You’re going to love this! Vesta (goddess of the hearth & home) is conjunct your NN in Gemini in the 3rd! hee . . .Vesta in GeminiFocusing on what is being said can put you into a world of your own where you go right to the heart of the message, eliminating all the extraneous information. The only risk is that if you get off on the wrong tangent, you can completely leave reality behind and get lost in a conceptual world of your own making.Vesta in 3rd HouseWhen you want it to be phrased just the right way, the message delivered to everyone on the list, you won’t say quit. The challenge comes when general and special delivery need to be separated out and you need to pull back and make judgments based on other considerations. Sometimes listening, not talking, is the key.

  10. Beautiful photo Neith.I am hoping for clear skies. The forecast is for not.Eclipse is smack on my South Node | descendent. This is the last pass of a long cycle that started 20 Feb 1989. Eclipses playing with the nodes has been, ummm, interesting.I bet we will all welcome a new cycle.

  11. Neith, I should’ve known! Speak of the devil…I already learnt my Vesta lesson; I always listen more than I speak. I also read that this is the place where we recharge our batteries, meaning that sometimes I need to stop communicating altogether. It’s so true! I’ve often thought of those convents where people make vows of silence, I’d like that ;)Thanks for the information!

  12. uh uh … why am I not surprised …Eclipse plays out along that good old 5th / 11th house axis that has been … active for a long while now…Vesta natally is Capricorn 4th but is currently transiting 5th….

  13. Eclipse is smack on my South Node | descendant. This is the last pass of a long cycle that started 20 Feb 1989. Eclipses playing with the nodes has been, ummm, interesting.I bet we will all welcome a new cycle.Hey tseka!! Yes I’m sure we are all ready for a new cycle. 1989 was definitely the prelude for a whole new cycle for me. Well, we will see where this one leads. Thanks for stopping by, my dear!

  14. I also read that this is the place where we recharge our batteries, meaning that sometimes I need to stop communicating altogether. It’s so true! I’ve often thought of those convents where people make vows of silence, I’d like that ;)LOL! Curiously I yearned after convents & vows of silence at different times but with NN in Gemini it was not to be. The nice thing about written communications IMO, is it gives us time to review before we “speak”.

  15. Vesta natally is Capricorn 4th but is currently transiting 5th….heh, you & tseka sound like you are soooo ready for this cycle to be over! Here a little something on Vesta in Capricorn and conjunct Mercury!Vesta in CapricornYour ability to focus in on organization that needs attending-to gives you great natural talent in the business world, but you may also find yourself quite obsessed with finishing necessary tasks even when you need a break. Remember not to confuse the end with the ongoing means of getting there, or you’ll go right past your exit and not notice it.Mercury Conjunction VestaCrystal clarity is the child of choosing words and structure so they mean exactly what you want them to mean. That can suck you in forever, however, as there is always a step further to proceed in that direction. Sometimes you need to chuck it all and do something stupid in order to get some context of how bright you can be.

  16. AHHHHHH I wish I was normal again. AHHHHH ha haChristy! what’s normal?! lol~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You think? ;)ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!

  17. Neath,This is Jenn here. I don’t know where my Vesta is but the eclipse is conjunct both my Natal Virgo Sun and Venus in the 8th House. I’m writing…CHECKS. Lots of them.Sigh.Blessings to you.

  18. This is Jenn here. I don’t know where my Vesta is but the eclipse is conjunct both my Natal Virgo Sun and Venus in the 8th House. I’m writing…CHECKS. Lots of them.Sigh.LOL! Saturn conjuncting your Uranus has to be adding to the effect of the eclipse! Is it old business emerging? take care . . . 🙂 How are you doing these days?!

  19. Neith,I’m fine, but the businesses (construction and writing, as you know) aren’t, and since I have all those Scorpio stuff, I am writing…checks. It’s been frustrating because I’m still trying to finish the book from hell. I’d been hoping this past eclipse will be the thing that finally moves me to do it because it’s right on top of my sun and it’s all about cleaning up my mess. So what did I do the next day…sigh…I cleaned out 5 boxes of books and clothes. That is all good but that wasn’t the mess I had in mind.

  20. I know this is an old post, but I stumbled across this in a search I was conducting on the present full moon, and found your descriptions of Vesta intensely intriguing…Vesta does mean a lot to me. I was wondering if you’d oblige me with what your software says for my placement of her, at 1* Leo, 12th House in retrograde. Mucho gracias.Love, light and reason forever and ever and always!
