Approaching the Equinox & Full Moon in Libra

Next week will find us at the beginning of the astrological year when the Sun moves into Aries on March 19-20, followed by the Full Moon in Libra on March 21st. This next week seems like a great time to contemplate what we have done this past year and what we would like to see come about over the next year. This particular Full Moon is a great opportunity to see our next step on our path with a Grand Cross in Cardinal signs. The energy available is perfect for initiating something new.

Personally I’m beginning to feel like I can move ahead after a winter of being stuck during the Mars Retrograde and the Pluto/Mars opposition cycle. Even though Mars won’t be completely back to the degree he went Rx until April 4th, he’s back up to speed moving ahead and away from opposing Pluto. The snow is almost completely gone and the aspens have catkins and I just heard a blackbird call when I walked out to get the mail. Projects and ideas put on hold last November look to be ready to move ahead too.

The Grand Cross is a dynamic but stable configuration and when considering how this one will affect your chart, find where 1 degree Aries falls in your chart. Aries is about taking risks and the initiative and a natural starting point. Libra opposes Aries and asks us to consider the needs of others. Cancer is the Cardinal sign following Aries and shows us where we need to confront our feelings and fears. Capricorn is where we can go to reclaim our power and authority. With the Sun in Aries showing us our heart being squared by Mars (ruler of Aries) in Cancer, we look to the Moon in Libra to find a way to bring our emotional nature into balance. Pluto in Capricorn combines power with authority and needs the other three elements in this configuration to provide stability and a means of release and catharsis. All this sounds very well and good but in real life we often are most concerned with living our day to day lives. However if we can take a moment to contemplate this sort of thing, as a 12th house person I believe our subconscious will absorb and use more than we know – sorta like sleep learning. ::grin::

We have Venus conjunct Mercury in Pisces and Jupiter sextile Uranus in the Full Moon chart to soften the edges and smooth the way for taking the next step to where ever we wish to go. Saturn in Virgo is moving closer to an exact trine with Pluto for now. We have the support we need at this time to pursue our goals. Blessings of this time of renewal to everyone!

Look closely to see the hawk circling above! These are aspen catkins, one of the early signs of spring around here.

  1. Spring is in bloom over here. The plants are confused since February had such warm days. These events always seem to happen on my 12th house. lol ooh I definitely need things back from November to start moving. This hasn’t been going well at all so far.

  2. Oh Neith… this particular entry of yours is LOADED with exactly the guidance I need right this very minute. I need to re-align myself. Will print your ‘road map’ (sky map!) and go sit quietly with my chart and try to figure out how best to proceed now that my previous set of plans has been obliterated. I need to come up with Plan B. (Apparently ‘the Universe’ didn’t think my Plan A was the best one!)Thank you. (((((Neith))))) xoxo

  3. Well that was a productive session! Thank you so much, Neith! (((hug))) xoxoThat Grand Cross? Smack dab on much of my chart:Pluto exact conjunct my Saturn in Cap.Mars conjunct by sign to my Moon in Cancer. The Equinox Sun conjunct my South Node in Aries. The Full Moon (next week) conjunct my Sun, North Node, Mars and Merc in Libra.(And of course, this being a cross, all of the above are also opposing and squaring each other, for good measure!)Am I feeling it? ~laughing~Then add:Saturn retrograding one last time for good measure over my Pluto, Vertex and Venus in Virgo (and my Uranus nearby plays in there too) — in my 7th H. Add Merc and Venus transiting these by opposition. And next week, on Equinox/Full Moon, Neptune will be exact conjunct my Chiron.Am I feeling it? ~laughing s’more~I’ll stop there… I could go on and on with more major aspects…If there’s any consolation for me in there, it’s in knowing that *OF COURSE* I’m having a hard time keeping an even keel and my head above water!!! (to mix two marine metaphors!)I am being bombarded by so many different energies from so many different directions all at once — and all of them DIRECT HITS, *OF COURSE* I am not exactly steady!!!But I ~have~ solidified Plan B. Plan B has existed for a long time. Guess it’s time to move it to a front burner!!

  4. Uh uh …The light quality is changing here too and things are coming into bud!Lib asc (1’08) here …Kinda describes all that is going on in my life right now… Although heaven knows where the new beginnings are going to come from… (I can feel dawn coming just over the horizon but it still feels as though I am seeing things through a fog still…)

  5. ooh I definitely need things back from November to start moving. This hasn’t been going well at all so far.It may be April after the Aries Sun hits your ASC and Mercury moves into Aries your Fire sign self will really feel the change. With nothing in Fire for awhile its been tough for those with lots of Fire in their charts to feel motivated. We are getting some cooler weather now but that’s OK. As you say the plants get confused if it gets too warm too soon . . . 🙂 I do too!

  6. Plan B has existed for a long time. Guess it’s time to move it to a front burner!!LOL! Libra running frantically from one side of the see saw to the other!! When we are in the middle of a major crisis, it’s hard to see past the moment all right. At least you have a Plan B . . . The Pluto in Sagittarius years made us all believe we could fly by the seat of our pants forever (just look at the mess the US economy is in). I’m sure we are all going to learn about putting together real plans of action with the Earth signs leaning on us! 😀

  7. Kinda describes all that is going on in my life right now… Although heaven knows where the new beginnings are going to come from… (I can feel dawn coming just over the horizon but it still feels as though I am seeing things through a fog still…)hmmmmmm I’m wondering if Mars may offer a clue here. Perhaps when Mars reaches the degree he went Rx, you will start seeing the dawn more clearly. My reasoning has to do with Mars being the ruler of Aries and with your natal Sun conjunct Mars, you may be more influenced than most by him. When Mars finally moves into Leo around the 10th of May, I suspect there will be a huge sign of relief amongst the Air & Fire people! 😀

  8. well, it’s been a stressful weekend (and I’m not talking about just the birthday). My mom had a mini-stroke on Friday. She’s home from the hospital. By the time she got to the hospital, the stroke symptoms were starting to rescind. Her MRI showed nothing wrong. The doctor just has her taking aspirin to thin the blood. And she’s actually admitting to being woozy is which is really something for my mom to admit. She’s taking this as a warning to slow down a bit. After all she’s 80. But she’s promising to take it easy and not travel so much. And she’s starting a yoga class to learn how to breathe. hee.BUT my aunt had a massive stroke last November and apparently didn’t pay attention to several mini-strokes before she had the big one and my mom is determined NOT to have that happen to her. So she’s behaving herself. My son didn’t fly out here — however I did talk to him several times today and the little ones too. (Pookie kept hanging up on me. hee. Daddy was trying to measure him so the sweaters I knit actually fit him for a change.) They’re all doing well in California. And I saw a lot of my brother — the smug pompous Taurus pilot who’s into A Course in Miracles. It’s a lot easier to be positive about the universe when you’re coasting along on a wave of prosperity. I had a bit too much of that this weekend. Especially since I’m fighting the worst year since 1988 and so worried about work. But you know what Cafe Astrology has to say about Pisces (and I find this very on point):Harsh realities are avoided either through escapist behavior or self-delusion; but every now and again reality does raise its ugly head, and hits Pisces over the head. This is a sad time indeed. Pisces retreats into their own world, self-pitying and giving pep talks to themselves (“I will never trust again!”). Rest assured, though, that these periods are rather short-lived and even useful. Pisces seems to derive energy from their (generally short) bouts of self-pity. They come back stronger, with a spring in their step, ready to face the world again, and just as, if not more, compassionate and trusting as they were before. Some might even wonder if Pisces finds pleasure in suffering. Sometimes this is the case, but most of the time, Pisces pulls a lot of creative energy from sadness.so whine, whine, whine. I’m ready for some good stuff.

  9. She’s taking this as a warning to slow down a bit. After all she’s 80. Good God! {{{Casey!}}} What a birthday for you! Lots of mixed blessings, your mom is recovering and you got to visit with Pookie but nothing truly prepares us for seeing a parent in the hospital, does it. My dad will be 88 this June and he’s doing quite well all things considered. He fit and very active and sharp. Has cataract surgery scheduled for April, something that usually has excellent results. But she’s promising to take it easy and not travel so much. And she’s starting a yoga class to learn how to breathe. hee.Learning to breathe properly is something everyone benefits from as well as learning good posture. Yoga does a great job of teaching both. Hopefully she will enjoy this experience.Sometimes this is the case, but most of the time, Pisces pulls a lot of creative energy from sadness.Great reminder for everyone. Pisces people tend to be a lot stronger then given credit for by others and themselves. Think of all the incredible music coming from sad & painful experiences. Here’s lots & lots of good wishes and blessings for your mom and you!!
