We might as well seek out ways to enjoy living with Aries in the house because from April 1 until May 11, 2011 we will have at least five planets in the first sign of the zodiac. Mars will shift into Aries on April 1 joining the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus . . . that is a LOT of Aries, folks!
Not only will there be an abundance of Aries during that time period, there are even more planets in cardinal signs because Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn bring the total number to seven. Is this a good time to get something started? Yes, it is. However, we need to take extra care to not leave out important details because we’re in too much of a rush to go, go, go. All of us with plenty of natal planets in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) may be the worst offenders in that regard. Thankfully the extreme cardinal signature will begin to fade after May 11 as first Mars joins the Sun in Taurus, then Mercury and Venus follow on May 16 and finally Jupiter will leave Aries on June 4.
Right now my Libra self can’t decide whether it will be exhilarating or way too much Aries energy. At this time, I’m enjoying the renewed sense of independence especially coming out of the second pass of Saturn in Libra conjoining my Moon. One side effect of that transit was feeling joined at the hip with my Aries husband whose Moon in Aries exactly opposes my Moon (and transiting Saturn). Yesterday was the first time in a long time I ran errands by myself – rather than the two of us going in together to save fuel since we live out in the country. I have my fingers crossed he will be back doing remodel jobs SOON.
Do reserve judgment and avoid leaping to conclusions under this Aries dominated sky for a couple of reasons: One being the inclination to speak out before all the facts are in, and the second is Mercury in Aries is now slowing to station retrograde on March 30. Misinformation is likely to abound the last week in March and the first two weeks of April. I am resigning myself to seeing plenty of bombast followed by retractions, both in the larger world and closer to home.
A note of sanity and a source of frustration will be Jupiter’s opposition to Saturn on March 28 at 14° Aries-Libra. If you have cardinal planets or Angles from 13-15 degrees, prepare to feel the need to bring balance into what going on around you. Saturn in Libra continues to remind us of the importance of moderation and equity in all our relationships while Jupiter in Aries is all about forging ahead at full speed!
Due to the turbulence of these coming days, I suggest we will all benefit from remembering to treat all whose paths we cross with extra consideration and kindness. 😀

now, where was this advice three hours ago, when I fired off an angry email to my congressman about a Republican woman submitting a bill about legally changing pi to 3.0 because it’s “just too difficult”??? Turns out it was an early April Fool’s joke…but it sounds EXACTLY like what a Republican would do. Anyway, I didn’t read the whole article and just blew up at the idea.

This weekend, I plant the garden. It took me several weeks to get the grow boxes in good shape for spring. I’m planting a small dyer’s flowerbed this year. False indigo, madder and some yellow-producing stuff. We’ll see how that goes.

That is a chart of the sky on April 2 at the time Mars shifts into Aries. I am using a WordPress plugin allowing me to use the charts from Planetwatcher.com. I like this wheel because the position of the planets is so clear.

Great idea! A friend of mine planted some madder by the side of her house and it did quite well. Some of the best dye plants can become weeds . . . 😛
I need to transplant tomatoes into gallon pots in order to start hardening them off. It has been so wet and cold we haven’t been able to even plant our salad greens. Most years we will have already planted peas and salad greens. The garlic is growing fine but it’s TOUGH!!

I missed that, neith…but it is interesting. I went off in search of a description of a mystic rectangle and came away with this little word of advice: “Letting go is the main way through: the state of mind is often the obstacle, when in fact there is an open road ahead.” I have found that letting go is really the answer to everything. It all dates back to a funeral I attended where one of the eulogizers said something about the way to judge a life was “by how much you have loved, how much you have done, and how you’ve learned to let go.”
You and I met in 2006 when I was forced to learn how to let go. And sometimes I think I’ve let too much go so that I am only anchored to the earth by myself (my self) without any other people anchoring me. Perhaps one dog and three cats is enough of an anchor?
I have been worrying about finances lately, especially on my birth day, and I’m giving it all half a year to get better. Then I will take drastic action (hello, 401K) and force myself to start living less indulgently. Perhaps this is all because I am not convinced I will live to have a ripe old age like my mother and her generation have. They have milked their retirement for all it’s worth. I don’t have that luxury.
SO letting go….next objective, letting go the credit cards.

Ah, “letting go” . . . that is a very Pisces sort of concept, tide sweeps in and washes the beach clear as it recedes. I find it ironic after skipping thru the first half of my life with a minimum of material possessions, I am now half-owner of several acres of real property w/house, outbuildings, etc. Fits our composite chart to a ‘T’ – ASC, Sun, Venus in Cappy & 5 planets in earth. Still completely blows my mind I have a grandchild whom I adore with another due any day.
I hear you about retirement too. There will be far fewer in our generation who will have the wherewithal to do retirement like our parents. I can not even imagine traveling around the country in an RV for instance, or owning a winter home & a summer home. We probably will still continue working in some capacity because we need the income to survive.

Once Jupiter enters Taurus in June (even though it will another year before it makes it out of your 12th) you may feel differently.
I found one mini-daffodil in bloom yesterday. If it would warm up and quit raining, more will bloom and I can indulge in vases full in the house. Then it will truly be Spring! 😀
