As Mercury slows to station direct 23 April, I find myself reviewing the past three weeks when it was retrograde. This turned out to be a rather annoying time for me even though there was only one incident of a technical glitch of the sort usually associated with the times Mercury is traveling in reverse – my website was inaccessible on and off for about a day. By the way, we never were able to pinpoint an exact cause for that incident but believe it related to using CloudFlare, a service for reducing bandwidth usage – which it does very well.
One reason this Mercury Retch was a pain is it triggered my natal Mercury-Uranus inconjunct by creating a Yod with my benighted Mercury in Scorpio at the apex. This will happen a total of three times with the first two occurring just before Mercury went retrograde and within the first week after that date. I will have the joy of experiencing this one more time in early May before Mercury leaves Aries for Taurus on 15 May. Mercury in Aries sextile Uranus in Gemini as the base is wonderfully quick and glib as well as quite creative. The problem is Mercury in Scorpio in the twelfth is neither, and as the focus of all that hyper mentality stammers and stutters before shutting down all together. Nonetheless, this Yod can produce moments of brilliance and if I’m lucky, I can seize those and write like mad before the lucidity leaves. Once the light starts to fade it can take forever to write a simple sentence . . .
Now various Aries folks I know have hardly even noticed this retrograde at all due to the support they have from the rest of the planets in Aries, Mars in particular. My husband had an interesting Mercury Rx experience this week. He had just started a new job when he got a call from another neighbor whose vacation house had been broken into. Naturally he contacted his current employer and got the OK to focus on repairing the worst of the damage caused by the break in. The thieves had trashed the front door beyond repair so he is replacing that door as well as a couple of lock sets. A busy Aries is a happy Aries.
My Gemini step-daughter is still pregnant and faaar past ready for her son to be born! It crossed my mind as I was waking up this morning Mercury retrograde may have a role here because it rules Gemini. There has been some confusion with due dates with both 15 April and 25 April as possibilities. She assures us all is well with her and the baby and the normal physical changes preceding the birth are all occurring . . . just not fast enough for her! She has a Cappy Moon and her husband is a Cappy Sun, so a Taurus Sun baby is a great fit astrologically. He will have plenty of Aries in any case and is destined to be a very active little boy with Mars in Aries conjoined Jupiter. Hee
How have you experienced this particular Mercury Rx? Did you have technical problems or communication issues? Did you feel physically tired or have more headaches – tension or migraine? Where does Aries fall in your chart and were there incidents related to that?
Here is the chart for Mercury’s station direct. Note the exact opposition to Saturn in Libra and the exact Venus-Uranus conjunction in Aries. 😀

It hit wonderboy (Cap Sun, Scorpio Moon and Rising) the worst with his Aries 6th House. Major computer parts broke down, he had phone problems, one of his clients was being a complete freak and we also experienced some rough hosting problems ourselves, as he is our webmaster. Minx, with her Aries rise had boy problems :P. Virgo man had a good break actually, even though he has been battling a cold and we spent much of his first week off school together (Aries 4th House) and I, with my 3rd House Aries, had horrible writers block which is nothing new. Husband, just had to put up with me and my horrid transits lol – 7th House Aries pocket for him! In general, it was pretty quiet work wise, for new work, at any rate. But a positive time for honing the schedule, tying up loose ends and re-vamping old ideas, which Ramzilla and I managed to do.
{{{{wonderboy}}}} I feel for him because he is stuck in the hot-seat where others are demanding answers he may not have at his fingertips.

Frustrating, isn’t it? I swear I spent HOURS attempting to write the weeklies last time. 😛

My husband has gone from famine to feast, thankfully. My new work has slowed some but since I have a consult to finish requiring a great deal of concentration, that is no bad thing. Mercury slowly getting back up to speed direct is far more helpful than slowing in reverse. 😀

lol at being down again, poor wonderboy!!!
Ouch! But it was only temporary. Yay! Was he able to figure out what went wrong to avoid this going forward?
xoxo diane~
no not really. as you said above, much of what he does is dependent on others handling their systems and support expediently, which is a shame as they ‘were’ fabulous providers that he has been using for years now. but now he is out hunting again 🙂
“Mars in Aries conjoined Jupiter”! LOL Reminds me of that HP printer commercial with the baby in the walker traveling across America.
OH MY G! I LOVED those commercials and you are so right!! 😀 😀

Thank you for this post as about one in every three merc. “retches” (very apt word by the way) affects me very much and I scramble to find out more. I’m a Pisces Sun, Libra Moon, and Taurus Rising (on the last degree of Taurus), with all my planets in either Libra, Aquarius or Pisces. Almost all the time, I experience delays in finances and cheques owing to me. Very rarely does it affect my communications or computers or anything else. I can’t make head or tails of the recent Saturn in Libra opposing most of the Aries Stellium because I have Saturn & Jupiter conjunct in Libra natally, and so my recent holdup, difficulties with getting credit, lost cheques, etc. may be those two acting up, trying to tell me to be more responsible with my finances.
Hi Karine!
Saturn conj Jupiter pits the ultimate saver against the big risk taker and being conjunct, those two can either negate each other or work together. As I know Libra is more about seeking balance than achieving it, so I can see how it is possible to be cycling between extremes financially. The Aries stellium opp Saturn in Libra is likely pushing all those buttons.
I take it you are experiencing your Saturn Return and if that’s the case, following Saturn’s dictates of moderation and caution with your finances may be the best way to go. It’s a good time to sit down and create a budget, take extra care when writing cheques, etc.
Mercury direct will gradually make it easier to sort out all the pieces and move forward too.
Heh, Pisces, Libra and Taurus are all pretty easy going signs. Maybe you need to borrow some of the Aries drive to insist you get paid on time! 😛 Easier to say than do, I know.
Good luck!

Thank you for your advice & encouragement! I’m finding the Saturn return actually easier than the previous Saturn in Virgo transit, which painfully opposed my sun & mars; perhaps because my natal saturn & jupiter trine my ascendant. In anticipation of the return I finished some long outstanding projects, my degree, etc; wearing black and paying bills to humbly appease Saturn, and it (or jupiter) has come through with big gifts & scholarships too. It’s hard to stay on budget when Libra & Taurus crave beautiful things, not just clothing but art objects and things for the home too. Good idea to use the Aries energy for new sources of income– I’m a grad student so I know some debt is necessary, and have worked to eliminate the unnecessary kind and hopefully there’ll be cosmic rewards, or at least pats on the head.
just a thought, diane, but have you ever thought about recording ideas? i wonder because i get ideas lightening fast at times and *poof*
this has hit my hardest in my mercury ruled 7th house: my partner is suffering, big time. mostly health stuff.
i’m feeling like a superwoman. so much so that at times i’ve wondered “am i actually manic but i don’t know it?”
LOL
Christy!!!!! 😀 😀 😀

Oh yeah . . . just don’t always remember to do it. Those mental notes are too easily erased, aren’t they?! **grin**

No surprise with all the Aries planets passing through his 6th house. It may be worth noting how he does when Mars conjoins his nSaturn (1st wk of May), followed by Jupiter (12-16 May). My guess is he is in the process of developing a healthier life style, neither fun nor easy.
You are reaping the benefits through your Aries Venus & Mars plus your Sagittarius ASC – soon to have all those Aries planets trine it one after another. Hey, my Aries hubby is pretty charged up too. **rolling eyes**

One of my favorite Libra astrologers, Shannon of Signs of Potential, created this great memo on handling all the fire in the sky! Enjoy!
I have definitely felt depleted and like all the oxygen has been sucked out the air . . . 😛
