Observations: Mercury in Gemini Mishmash

© Diane Lang

Yesterday Mercury entered its home sign of Gemini and my air sign brain went into overdrive. Throw in Mercury’s square to Neptune in Pisces, this morning’s Cancer Moon square Uranus and Jupiter’s need to make one last statement in Aries and it’s busy up there!

Mercury will race through Gemini this time, taking 13 days before entering Cancer on 16 June and starts to gradually slow down before the next Mercury retrograde in early August. It will spend 15 days in Cancer and 28 days in Leo, a marked reduction in speed. Babies born during Mercury’s stay in Gemini this year will have very, very quick minds, so much so they may have trouble articulating their ideas because their speech can’t keep up with their thoughts.

I am going to blame the Mercury-Neptune square for misreading my clock and getting up an hour earlier than I usually do. Some rather uncomfortable dreams also contributed to my wakefulness and that is so Neptune. Of course, my Aries spouse had been up for at least an hour or so, puttering around the house but that’s normal for him. He is definitely a morning person unlike yours truly.

My busy mind is throwing out ideas about what Jupiter in Taurus will bring too. Among other things I bet we see a marked shift from start-ups to consolidating gains made. Unlike Aries, Taurus prefers to complete one project before launching another. I can hear management types saying things like “let’s not get ahead ourselves . . .” My dearest hope is we will gradually see solid, practical reinvestment of monies that have been sitting on the sidelines for the past couple of years. The keyword is gradual. Jupiter is still an optimist in Taurus but he is also very aware of the bottom line.

Venus will be joining Mercury and the Sun in Gemini on 9 June and hopefully my poor brain will have adjusted to more air in the sky by then. By the time the lunar eclipse occurs on 15 June, there will be four planets in air, three in earth, two in fire and one in water with mutable being the dominant element. That’s a big change from early April when the sky was full of fiery, cardinal Aries!

Anyone else experiencing a mental rush from Mercury’s arrival in Gemini?

  1. Anyone else experiencing a mental rush from Mercury’s arrival in Gemini?

You bet! I feel like I have ADD. I can hardly even finish speaking one sentence before I’m starting the next one because my brain is already 2 thoughts ahead!

  2. Yep. Rapid-fire subject changes are the norm with me at the moment. I’m basically a flit-wit today (flit-wit isn’t quite as bad as a nitwit, but annoyingly close). Then again it may be all the beautiful sunshine we’ve had for 2 days in a row. It’s astonishing, after endless rain, and endless snowy wastelands before that.

    • Hi Joe!

I hear you on this one. Last weekend brought the nicest weather we’ve had this year. I finally felt warm for a change. Last night it stayed in the 50’s, and if that continues we will see a serious growth spurt. 😀

      xoxoxo diane~
