Full Moon in Capricorn, July 14, 2011

Thankfully this Full Moon at 22° 28′ Capricorn on 14 July 2011, 11:39 PM PDT, is your normal garden variety Full Moon. After three eclipses in a row stirring the pot and generally making life ‘interesting’, I’m very happy to be writing about an ordinary lunation once again.

Because all of the planets from Jupiter on out to Pluto are in the first ten degrees of their respective signs, they are not aspecting this 22° Full Moon at all. Only Mercury in Leo and the Moon’s Nodes (North Node in Sagittarius and South Node in Gemini) are close enough to aspect the Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn. While Mercury is trine the North Node and sextile the South Node encouraging writing, publishing and communications in general, the Nodes and Mercury both form awkward aspects to the luminaries. When Cancer and Capricorn team up, their top priority is taking care of the extended family by either providing for them (Capricorn) or nurturing them (Cancer). Mercury in Leo loves to joke around and have a good time with the Nodes cheering it on but the luminaries are sitting back with mildly disapproving looks at what they consider nonsense.

Saturn in Libra gains importance as the ruler of the Full Moon in Capricorn. A square to Venus in Cancer and a trine to Mars in Gemini brings Saturn’s influence close to home. From the looks of things, we’re better off cleaning up the debris left in the wake of those three eclipses and tending to business rather than pursuing romantic interests now. FYI to lovers: beware of one party or the other coming across as too authoritarian and sounding like a parent instead of a loving equal partner. It could land you in deep trouble.

Now Saturn is gaining forward momentum and clearly out of orb to the
Uranus-Pluto square, chances those two will really begin to go at it without Saturn’s restraining influence. Fortunately, there is a modifying influence in play during this Full Moon and that is the waning trine between Aries’s ruler, Mars and Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn. This suggests taking an active role is the far better tactic. If you have entered into negotiations of any kind, please keep in mind compromise is essential, not optional. As long as Saturn is in Libra, we need to do our best to quiet our fears and have faith we will gain through compromise rather than lose.

The lovely trine between Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn is beginning to wane. However there is still time to take advantage of this powerful alignment in earth to review your investments and consider money making options. Keep proposals simple, well-researched and firmly based on real figures for best results.

In the background we have Neptune in Pisces exactly semi-sextile Ceres newly arrived in Aries. Neptune may have a softening effect on Ceres as she transitions from Pisces to Aries but it won’t be long before she is pushing her charges to be independent. No more lolling about allowed, it’s time to get cracking and DO something!

Getting together with your extended family is always favored under this Full Moon. Dust off your best manners and steer clear of off color jokes at the dinner table. Show respect for your elders and play nice with your siblings. You can always blow off steam on the fun loving New Moon in Leo on 30 July!

On a personal note: This time around the major impact on my chart is the lunar axis forming an exact T-Square with the midpoint between my Libra Sun and Moon. Heretofore I haven’t paid too much attention to transits to this important midpoint so I’m curious to see how it plays out. Since the Moon falls on the cusp of my third house and the Sun on the cusp of the ninth, I could end up in extended discussions with my siblings, probably about family financial matters because Venus in Cancer is currently in my eighth house making a waxing square to my Moon.

Jupiter in Taurus is just past the first of three passes opposing my natal twelfth house Jupiter from the sixth. We’ll see what big improooovements Jupiter will be promoting for me . . . whoopee!

Otherwise this is a low key lunation for me and after those eclipses, I’m just tickled pink! 😀

  1. Nice 🙂 This one is right on my Mercury, so my t-square will be having a party :/ The conjunction to the North Node from Jupiter is separating, thank goodness and Mercury is separating from my Venus. I am hoping for a good glimpse regards present and future writing projects!

    • Heh, Jupiter sure can be a pain at times. Too much of a good thing and all that! 😀

  2. This Cappy full moon opposes my progressed Moon from the 6th house, and squares my nodes. Not sure what that means, but I hope it brings healing. I’m still suffering from my back muscle problems (3 weeks now), although finally beginning to improve. I finally tried the muscle relaxants my doc prescribed, but couldn’t tolerate them at all. But I found an unexpired bottle of herbal stuff that my alt-med person gave me a long time ago and that seems to be working more gently. (Need to find a new alt-med person around here…) Meanwhile, Jupiter is just hitting my MC, but I haven’t been able to do any networking/job search. I’m glad that this Jupiter transit of my 10th will be going on a long time!

    • Hi Les,

I’m becoming more convinced for those with sensitive systems, many standard prescription drugs are overkill. Like antibiotics that wipe out all the good intestinal flora. Those with the ASC & personal planets in mutable signs tend to the most sensitive to this effect. I FAR prefer using alt-meds if at all possible.

Yes, Jupiter will be in your tenth for awhile yet. And will trine your Virgo planets on & off the whole time. You still have plenty of time to get your back healed and invest time & energy into improving your work situation. 😀
