Observations: Mysterious Neptune in Pisces

I’m excited about Neptune arriving in Pisces today though I expect it will take us awhile to get an idea of what it will bring. Learning about Neptune is sort of like the blind men describing an elephant . . . we get bits and pieces right but the whole picture tends to elude us.

The water signs – Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces – are the ones who stand to benefit the most from Neptune in Pisces since they operate best from a fluid, emotional place. Gemini and Sagittarius folk will have the toughest time dealing with this Neptune because it is going to seriously mess with their heads. Mental Gemini likes their information clear and linear whilst Sagittarius is far too impatient to untangle for Neptune in Pisces meanderings. Fiery Aries and Leo will probably ignore any Neptune related issues and walk away shaking their heads . . . it take a few years for them to get the message. Libra and Aquarius may initially wonder what is going but once their more altruistic side kicks in, they’ll be able to deal OK. The earth signs – Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn – are also going to appreciate Neptune in Pisces because it will appeal to their softer side and bring out the best in them.

Over the first few years in Pisces, Neptune will interact with some of the other outer planets. Although Neptune and Uranus spent a couple of years in mutual reception when Neptune was in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces, it will be widely semi-sextile Uranus in Aries only for the rest of February 2012 . . . minor irritations only. In June 2012 when Jupiter enters Gemini it will square Neptune for a few weeks and encourage all sorts of off the wall extravagances. I expect the political rhetoric here in the USA to take some truly amazing flights of fancy! After Saturn enters Scorpio in October 2012, it will be trine Neptune for a few weeks and I’m betting we will love that relationship. Saturn harmoniously aspecting Neptune is extremely good for working artists of all kinds.

I decided to offer you links to read about what other astrologers have to say about Neptune in Pisces including some historical information from the last time Neptune visiting the last sign. Enjoy!

  1. It will be interesting for those of us who were born with Pluto in Virgo to see what Neptune pulls on us. It is too soon for it to show any impact yet however I am certain that once it gets into gear things will get interesting.

    • Hi William,

It will be interesting for those of us who were born with Pluto in Virgo to see what Neptune pulls on us. It is too soon for it to show any impact yet however I am certain that once it gets into gear things will get interesting.

I think so too. What I anticipate is a verrrry gradual softening of the harshest stances Pluto in Virgo can take. Pisces has a way of gently reminding Virgo of the reasons they both work so hard to serve humanity. Bound to be a few side trips on the way . . . Neptune doesn’t take the direct route. 😛

  2. Hi Diane

I’ve got Neptune and Chiron dancing around the Venus end (3 Pis) of my natal opposition with Pluto at 3 Virgo so it’ll be interesting to see what happens now that Neptune has left my solar sign of Aquarius. Hopefully an end to the ‘fog’ will be nice. And Neptune moved on my birthday yesterday too!

    • Hi Rossa! 😀

Your Venus has plenty of support from Saturn & Neptune natally so I’m inclined to believe you will be able to use this transit very effectively, especially when it comes to creative, artistic endeavors. Keep an eye out for ways to turn those into income! 😀

p.s. like the Sun-Mercury conj trine the Moon in your SR for this year.

  3. It is in my 2nd house. I’m not sure if it is the shift that is responsible or something else, but the last day it was in Aq I had emotional breakdown @ work. I haven’t cried at work win 6 plus years. The next day wasn’t any better. Today I kinda came out of it, but used food for comfort. My mantra for my Work situation since I a, experiencing a déjà vu to last year this time. Throw me under the bus once, shame on you. Twice! Shame on me! Acjk is this foreshadowing of bumpy times to come or is it time for this Libra sun AQ moon to break free of the CAP rising and find something that feeds the soul!

Perhaps the Neptune induced denial has fallen away, leaving you to deal with full awareness of how much you need to find a role that “feeds the soul”. What would your perfect job look like? Something Mercury related (Mercury conj MC) in some way? Or perhaps in the entertainment industry (Neptune in the 10th)?

Saturn in Libra will still be trine your Moon, stabilizing it on and off until Oct this year. With Neptune’s shift into Pisces, you will probably be more aware of this influence. 🙂

  5. All I know for sure is, we had unusual amounts of fog around here a day or so before and after Neptune’s ingress. We’ve had a warmer than normal winter, so there’s plenty of opportunity for moisture from melting snow to condense into ground fog.

    • We’ve had little fog locally but plenty of freezing fog in the region, particularly in warmer areas. Too cold here. I can certainly see water issues of all kinds coming to the forefront as Neptune meanders through Pisces for the next 14 yrs. 😛

  6. I’ve kind of been a combination of bummed out about Valentine’s Day and, a little while ago when Mars directly sextiled my Mars, obsessing/working on eating healthier and my food philosophy. On my lunar return I was a lil unhappy even though I hung out with a new friend (a Virgo with a pretty Neptune in Pisces message for me about flow in career!)

I wonder what will happen with Neptune in Pisces as far as two things, since the Communist Manifesto was apparently written during Neptune in Pisces, I wonder what will happen about people’s attitudes toward socialism now. I think that people are already warming to it. Also I wonder what will happen with people’s attitudes toward homeless people.

It’s this attitude that bugs me: http://www.marriedtothesea.com/012412/i-dont-believe-in-god.gif
I wonder what will happen in Neptune in Pisces to change it. I actually think militant atheism is dumb.
