Observations: Post Eclipse Meanderings

I have to say this eclipse cycle has helped break me free of lingering effects of the recent transit of Saturn over my Libra Sun. First the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio broke up a mental log jam by conjoining my Mercury and then this week’s Lunar Eclipse in Gemini lit up my first-seventh house axis. Whilst neither eclipse were perfect by any means, I am pleased to be feeling more like my old upbeat self once more. Now if Pluto and Mars would hurry up and move off my progressed Mars-Sun in Capricorn that would be good.

Saturn is beginning to conjoin those with early degree Scorpio Suns and they get to take their turn feeling like life is giving them an unending stream of urgent responsibilities to handle. However those with their Suns from 5° to 12° Scorpio get some serious support for this transit from a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn, Scorpio’s ruler. I’m not saying this will make this transit easier but it will provide opportunities to do what Scorpio does best . . . make amazing transformations! By the way, Scorps, better not complain about this transit to your early degree Aries, Cancer and Libra Sun friends because those folks had Pluto squaring Saturn really putting the screws to their Suns. Some of those people are only now beginning to pick up the pieces of their lives and move forward.

Meandering off in a different direction to unaspected natal planets. I was studying a chart this past week where neither Venus nor Mars made major aspects to other planets. This is a phenomenon I don’t come across that often and since I don’t have any unaspected planets in my chart, I have to go by feedback from clients and educated guesses. This seems to be a bigger issue if it is the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars traveling alone because those most directly affect our everyday lives. When an outer planet is unaspected, according to astrologers like Liz Greene among others, we often experience those archetypes as people or events. However with the personal planets the result tends to be having a compartmentalized life. The area of life covered by where the planet falls by house and sign seem to operate independently. For instance, if your Venus is unaspected and falls in your fifth house, you may have pleasant love affairs that rarely impact your home and family life. You might even be surprised when other people comment on this and wonder how you can keep those separate. I know with my first house Venus trine Saturn my love affairs were very serious business and directly affected my education (Saturn is in my ninth house).

Anyone else beginning to see the impact of this eclipse cycle yet? Or if you have unaspected personal planets, how do you see those playing out in your live?

  1. SO MUCh has lifted. I feel the same as you…free from the lingering effects. October was a horrible month for me. I went to dark places. I feel the eclipse has lifted the funk and of course big changes await!! I really want to use this Scorpio in Saturn time to get in the muck and recreate my life.

I thought from a reading long ago I had an unaspected planet in my 8th house, but I just looked at it and I didn’t see it. So maybe not. 🙂

    • Hi Debbie!

Venus in Scorpio is currently crossing your MC & tenth house, usually a good transit for Libra. Plus Saturn in Scorp is now sextile your natal Venus, one of the better Venus-Saturn transits. 🙂

Your Mercury could be considered unaspected by some because the only aspect is a semi-sextile to your Sun & a wide conj to your MC. Venus will be conjoining it on Monday about the same time Mercury conjoins your Neptune . . . watch out for the “too good to be true” comments. 😛

  2. Like you Diane, Saturn has left my Libra sun but parked itself in my 12th house Scorpio. Both the 12-6 solar eclipse and 1-7 lunar hit me really, really hard. I have never liked the 12th and I’ve been affected by my husbands 12th house Libra at the same time it was in my sun sign. (Hope this changes as Saturn crosses his AC). As for personal planets, Mars in the 2nd(with transiting Pluto),but I’m looking to Venus crossing my AC in a few weeks and maybe give me a present or two while visiting the 1st and/or second house. It is said that Saturn rewards your perseverance after leaving your sign.I’m still waiting.

    • Hi Linda,

Yes, this eclipse cycle was very up close and personal for you, wasn’t it? 🙂 Hopefully things will settle down over the next week or so for you.

It is said that Saturn rewards your perseverance after leaving your sign.I’m still waiting.

My initial thought was rather flippant as in maybe learning perseverance IS the reward! Then it hit me this might be true in some cases especially for those going thru their first major Saturn transits. The world we live in now is so fast paced and filled with instant gratification, having to wait and wait and wait to see results is rare. Remember the days when snail mail was the primary mode of communication and it was one land line phone per household? 😀

    • Thanks! Me too! 😀

I love the snowfall app too though by the end of year, I’m ready to turn it off . . . usually more than ready to take down the xmas decorations too. 😀

  3. Hey Diane!

Where’s my eclipse impact? Usually my eclipses are so epic, its like I get slapped across the face! Not so much this time. And this eclipse was in my 7th…there were big relationship talks for sure, but no conclusions! Saturn has taken center stage. It’s conjuncting my sun widely and my pluto/mercury closely. Cue Miss Eeyore. Hope you are well!

    • Hey Orianaaa! 😀

Since you are now officially starting your Saturn Return, Saturn conjoining your Scorp planets & ASC has more punch. 😦 Better news is next week looks more promising w/Venus crossing your ASC! Between having a Venus Return (12-17) & Saturn moving off your Pluto-Mercury by the end of next week, here’s to feeling a little more optimistic. 😀

      • I don’t know Diane, I think Venus is broken or malfunctioning. I just had a double whammy Sun/Venus conjunction (venus crossed my sun and then the Sun crossed my Venus) and…zilch. Didn’t feel much except Saturn. Now I don’t believe in Venus! Especially with my relationship teetering on the brink…maybe a miracle is nigh? If I find myself home in New Orleans for that Venus return, maybe…

        • {{{{{Orianaaa}}}}}

When Saturn’s running the show, the bright spots are often much smaller alright. Think back to the summer of 2006 when Saturn in Leo was sq your natal Saturn. that’s the prelude to the Saturn Return. Biggest difference between then & now is the Saturn-Pluto sextile draws in your 2nd house Mars/Jupiter. Time to rethink how you are generating income maybe? Jupiter in the 7th opp your nUranus is soooo not helping on the relationship front either.

          xoxoxo diane~

          • Oh MAN I totally forgot that the 7th house Jupiter would oppose my first house Uranus. Christ almighty, no wonder I am obsessed with skipping town (Uranus in SAGG!) at the expense of everything. Its quite a seesaw.

It’s interesting that you mention 2006…I would consider it a very uneventful and actually very sad year. Late 2005 until the end of 2006 was the most depressed I’ve ever been, I was very much on the brink, and utterly alone. The calling to photography was very strong that year, and also the calling to go to New Orleans, where I had been before but had not lived in yet. Very much the same this year except you are totally right about the 2nd house difference: I am contemplating any way to make money more related to my interests as a point of survival. You have to work to live, so your work becomes your life. Even if I was selling paintings on the street I think I’d be happier than serving coffee! You know what I mean? Thanks for your insight, Diane!

          • Hey Orianaaa!
I am contemplating any way to make money more related to my interests as a point of survival.

Seriously good idea. I worked in an art gallery for a year or so & really enjoyed it. Hanging shows was a wonderful challenge. Also exploited every opportunity on other jobs to do art related projects. Still ya gotta eat & have some place warm to sleep.

Remember to take care of yourself!!! 😀

  4. Diane,

You are absolutely right about my impatience with Saturn transits. I thought back to my first Saturn return followed by Saturn in my sun sign and then into the 12th. It was a fairly benign time with some life changing moments; nothing like the second set of Saturn transits through the same houses. I think this time, life changing events wore me down. Thanks for the insight as usual. My best advice usually comes from another Libra.

    • Hi Linda!

I think this time, life changing events wore me down. Thanks for the insight as usual. My best advice usually comes from another Libra.

This time around Saturn in Virgo & Libra carried extra baggage with hard aspects to Uranus & Pluto. Game changers those outer planets.

I too find other Libras, especially those w/Mercury in Scorpio like myself, have a way of giving thoughtful feedback. My mom was one of those & we rarely fought once I was out of my teens. 🙂

  5. Yayy, thanks for making me look at my least aspected natal planets! (Have no unaspected ones, most are highly aspected, even when NOT considering the “major” asteroids). Only two aspects to my sun!! The next lightest are mercury and chiron, but they each have four – and with a chiron t-square along with gemini AC, moon and saturn *mercurial* there’s lot’s of action there. 😉 i’d like to say barely aspected sun allows me to set aside my ego, and it does sometimes…but there’s a few shows coming up that I’m doing – coreography, solo dance, singing/songwriting, and even showing a painting, (all things for which I’m “in demand” *ego surfacing*) but i never promote myself much, though I DO believe in what I do.

    • Hey brandy!

Wow! Gemini Rising, Moon & Saturn is mercurial for sure! Like seeing Saturn in there & it obviously is working for you ’cause you certainly don’t end up shining as a dancer/artist as you are with out HOURS of work, work, work! Congrats!! 😀

  6. Y’know, I’m not seeing a major major major eclipse impact, unless it’s to do with the stalled construction/remodel that’s been on my mind the entire calendar year of 2012. It finally actually began happening on Nov 19 (thankfully not when the Moon was VOC, but in Sag which is apropos because this is an expansion) so the beginning was within the span of the 2 eclipses, and has been proceeding quickly. Despite occasionally being seized with panic about the money situation, I’m more confident than I have been in some time. In my better moments, it feels like there’s an unseen hand guiding the timing of it all and I need only do my part and just shut up about everything else. 🙂 I have the feeling that the 2 early contractors, whose asses I went all Scorpio on, were too inexperienced to handle the scope of this thing. The 3rd guy, the one the state assigned to us after I filed complaints, is that Jupiter fellow I mentioned earlier, and is much more experienced. That’s all I can see from this vantage. *sigh* I can’t >>believe<< how much transformation has occurred this year.

    • Hey Joe!

Wonderful to see some progress even with all the noise & mess these things bring. 😀 Hopefully the work will continue to progress whilst the Sun is in Sagittarius, following by Venus. Lots of 7th house action implies working with this contractor feels like you have a good partner in this enterprise.

      good luck with this!

      xoxoxo diane~

      • Thanks. My nerves are, frankly speaking, quite shot to hell by this point. I’m close to taking a vow to never undergo any voluntary remodeling ever again.

        • Don’t blame you . . . the mess & expense can be a real hassle to deal with on a day to day basis. When it’s all finished & looking fabulous, it will be worth it! 😀

          xoxoxo diane~

    • Welcome Tom!
Is it over. It’s been a bad 6 months
The worst looks to be behind you for now as Saturn is no longer conj your Mercury. Saturn in Libra was not an easy journey for you was it? Summer of 2010 was probably memorable too . . . your Moon-Jupiter conj caught a lot of pressure then. Take care! 🙂

      xoxo diane~

    • That may depend on whether or not your loss was related to Pluto or Saturn. I see Pluto is currently conj your DES (this transit started in Feb 2012 w/a long station Rx from late Feb thru May when Pluto exactly conjoined your DES) & what Pluto trims away from our lives is often permanent. 😦 The whole purpose being to allow for something new & better to enter. Sorry . . .

Saturn, on the other hand, is noted for delayed gratification & it’s possible to regain your losses over a period of time.

      xoxoxo diane~

  7. I have been dealing with 3 losses.
    1 Permanent-Death
    1 Financial My choice
    1 Personal not my choice

    New & Better sounds interesting.
    Thanks for your help.

    • You’re welcome. Those are all hard to deal with. Here’s to better days ahead with plenty of new & better events & people coming into your life.
