The urge to leap into motion and launch new projects will be strong on the New Moon at 21° 45′ Sagittarius on 13 December 2012, 12:42 AM PST. Whether this will be a good idea is something needing careful consideration. Fire sign New Moons are often inspiring and exciting . . . at least according to fire sign folk that are usually game for a little action. They can talk air signs into seeing their point of view but earth and water signs say not so fast.
Why am I urging a cautious approach? It has to do with Mercury in Sagittarius being square to Neptune in Pisces whilst Mercury is trine to Uranus in Aries. Talk about the perfect set up to create brilliant theories that sound wonderful and depend heavily on pure potential of the largely unmanifested variety. Uranus in Aries is at a virtual standstill as it prepares to station direct a few hours after the New Moon, and it is ready to blast off at the first opportunity. Mercury in adventurous Sagittarius is more than willing to jump on board without hesitation. Fire sign certainty will be in full flower unfortunately aided and abetted by more than a few of Neptune’s illusions with a large dose of denial thrown in for good measure. I can hear the rhetoric now . . . full of hot air and bombast with no basis in reality.
Jupiter, Sagittarius’s ruler, is in articulate Gemini and he wants to join in the fun in the worst way. Sadly for him, he is at the apex of a Yod with the powerful Saturn-Pluto sextile as the base. Saturn in Scorpio has found the perfect partner in Pluto in Capricorn, especially when it comes to pointing out the flaws in Jupiter’s grandiose schemes. Think of those two as the ones holding the purse strings therefore dictating the financial realities. They are far too canny to let Jupiter in Gemini talk them round. A word to those in charge of setting up budgets at this time . . . make darn good and sure you have your outgo balanced by income and realistic income figures at that. Neither Scorpio nor Capricorn was born yesterday and they are familiar with all the best scams. By the way, this Yod will be in effect from now thru the end of the year before slipping out of orb and it will exact on the Winter Solstice.
The good news for lovers is Venus in Scorpio is still happily sextile to Mars in Capricorn though this aspect is fading away. The fly in their ointment is being chaperoned by the New Moon in Sagittarius, semi-sextile both planets. Think of it like this . . . having your kid brother or your crazy boisterous best friend tagging along on your date. Takes some of the shine off, doesn’t it?
Coming on the heels of two powerful eclipses, this is a fairly ordinary lunation. If you heed the need to be as straight forward and honest as possible, you should be able to get your new projects up and running. There is enthusiasm to spare now which is a good thing. However, please, please do your very best to avoid the temptation to tweak your selling points and keep your message clear, simple and on target whether you are courting a new love interest or launching a new business venture. Kindness and tact are always in season too.
On a personal note: I rather like this New Moon for my chart! Venus and the North Node in Scorpio flank my Ascendant, Mercury in Sagittarius conjoins my natal Venus and the New Moon proper is on the cusp of the second house. Thankfully the tricky Yod is slightly out of phase with any of my personal planets. Holiday kisses all around!!
