Libra Weekly Horoscopes for December 17, 2012

As many of us have already noticed, Mercury in Sagittarius is easily distracted and hops all over the place. Well, on Monday Mercury will oppose Jupiter in Gemini, connecting Mercury to Sagittarius’s ruler and ratcheting up the rhetoric even more. Is it time to turn down the volume or even do the unthinkable and turn off the phone? Sorting truth from exaggerations is not going to be easy this week so apply liberal amounts of caution before taking action based on hearsay.

Venus is now in Sagittarius and all she wants to do is cut loose and have a little fun. A waxing trine to Uranus in Aries midweek fuels her need to do things her way and even though she’ll do her best not to hurt anyone’s feelings that might happen anyway. This is hinted at by a square between Venus and Chiron in Pisces on Thursday. The opposition between Venus and Jupiter in Gemini on the weekend urges all us to relax, let our hair down and have some fun.

On Friday the Winter Solstice occurs (Summer Solstice for those Down Under) and sets the tone for the next six months. The Yod with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto is exact then though it is in effect for the next couple of weeks. Saturday, when Venus opposes Jupiter, it intensifies the effects of the Yod. What I take away from this is the need to set limits whether it’s eating and drinking too much at holiday parties or giving in to the impulse to spend too much doing last minute shopping. Big hearted Jupiter in chatty Gemini and Venus in boisterous Sagittarius can get wild and crazy at the drop of a hat! Neither Saturn in Scorpio nor Pluto in Capricorn are known for their willingness to overlook that sort of behavior. Both are big on discretion, frugality and generally behaving with decorum. Buy one rose instead of a dozen and have one glass of wine rather than drinking the whole bottle . . . your pocketbook and your head will thank you later.

Because this week will be a very busy one for me with holiday company to prepare for, Christmas cookies to bake and mittens to knit, my days will be busy and I may not be posting as usual. Enjoy your holiday season!

You may feel full of cheer and good will this week, Aries . . . maybe a little too much at times. However most you come in contact with won’t mind! The weekend brings more emphasis on your career sector. Pay attention!

Hopefully, Taurus, this week will be kind to your finances and you will feel in a better position to give more generously than you have in the recent past. This might be the results of some smart decisions you made earlier in the year.

Your spirits are bright and you are in the mood to spread the cheer around, Gemini. Spontaneous gatherings with plenty of friends and your significant other might be in store now. Make sure you have plenty of food and drink on hand too.

Thankfully, Cancer, there is a very good possibility you are feeling far more support and appreciation from your significant other or business partner than you have in some time. You might also get positive feedback from coworkers. Enjoy quiet pleasures on the weekend.

Even if you have some serious matters to deal with regarding family, Leo, it is still OK to stop and take time to play. Gatherings with your peers and like-minded people can be lots of fun. All work and no play are not good for you.

Decorating your home for the holidays might be just the thing to lift your spirits, Virgo, though if you are experiencing increased demands at work it may be challenging to find the time and energy. Do your best to make time if necessary.

How are your holiday preparations coming, Libra? Do you have everything in hand or are you running behind due to distractions from your partner and siblings. If you feel pressure to everything just right for family, please take a deep breath and relax, OK?

You are a regular powerhouse these days, Scorpio, and if you aren’t careful you might apply far more pressure than is needed to get the job done. If you can, plan a relaxing weekend with a few close friends to get ready for the holidays.

Let’s face it, Sagittarius, you are probably feeling pretty upbeat these days and ready for an adventure of some kind. You can depend on your partner to be ready to join you too. Exceeding your budget though is not a good plan.

You are in a bit more serious frame of mind than others now, Capricorn, and may be reluctant to have your attention diverted from ongoing discussions with your associates. Attending the office Christmas party with coworkers does not appeal so send your regrets.

This week, Aquarius, you’d far rather get together with those in your social circle to relax and enjoy yourself. Yes, there are probably some work related matters still hanging over your head but that’s OK. Have the gathering at your place on the weekend.

Some very sweet recognition for the time and effort you’ve put into your career could be yours this week, Pisces. And as much as you may be tempted to buy something extravagant for your home to celebrate, think twice before doing so!

If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too. 😀

    • Hi Karen! 😀

Merry Christmas to you too! 😀

You may have noticed I have said very little about that . . . 😀 It would be lovely if there was a marked shift in consciousness for the better though I’m not holding my breath. Sometimes I think the only change we can make is in our personal perspective. We just need many, many more to make the jump!

Me too, cita, me too. At the very least we can all catch our breath for a few months . . . the 1st Uranus-Pluto sq isn’t until 20 May.

BTW, with Venus in Sag trine a Leo Moon on New Year’s Eve, you should have a fabulous time! 😀

Merry Christmas & a wonderful New Year to you!

  3. Have a great holiday season and fabulous 2013. I am also not about much these days and with the feng shui project, I imagine that will consume the majority of 2013. Lots of manual labor that one, and major garden projects as well, yippee! Who knows. I could not only ditch a stack of negative juju, but lose a few kilos at the same time!

    • Hey Pixie! 😀

OK, I’m even more intrigued with your feng shui project . . . will you be painting as well as moving furniture, etc? Does one feng shui gardens too? 🙂

May you & yours have a fab Christmas and the best year yet in 2013! Hey, it has to be better than this one, right? 😛

      • Phew where do I start! 2012 was the decluttering of the mind, which is still a work in progress, (and with my mind, always will be) and 2013 is the major energy overhaul of the abode. Even though I travel light, and have certain elements of balance already working in play, recent studies have shown me ways of improvement. So apart from painting, there is decluttering from top to bottom, lots of re-arranging and creative recycling of goods, crafting of new items, sage/herb/crystal placements, and yes, all of the same happens to the gardens as it is the entry into the home, and part of your personal energy space 🙂 Lots of companion planting/placement and craft items to go about there. Lots of work, but heaps of fun!

Love to you and yours and yes, 2013 will hum along a little easier than the last few, that’s for sure.

        • Heh, the only clutter free room in my home is my bathroom we completely remodeled in 2006. That & the kitchen are the places I maintain the best . . . the rest sorely needs serious decluttering! 😀

  4. Diane,

Merry Christmas and from one Libra to another, a fabulous New Year. We are both experiencing our Venus return in first house Sag. Thank you for all the good advice you gave me in 2012.Maybe I’m an optimist but I think 2013 will be better, including the Yod.

    • Merry Christmas, Linda!! 😀
Maybe I’m an optimist but I think 2013 will be better, including the Yod.
It may not come across in my posts but I do like the Yod. Saturn & Pluto provide necessary restraint to Jupiter, hopefully resulting in lasting improvements. Jupiter is often better at big ideas but not that good at following through. 😛
