After getting on so well during November and December 2012, Venus and Mars have not been on the best of terms since Venus entered Capricorn in January. When these two are traveling in semi-sextile signs, they have little common ground. Recently Mars has been in Aquarius with Venus in the proceeding sign of Capricorn. Reserved Capricorn is often uncomfortable with Aquarius’s love of pushing the limits of what is socially acceptable and Aquarius finds Capricorn’s preoccupation with following the rules very stuffy. As both planets will be changing signs on Friday, Mars moving into Pisces whilst Venus shifts into Aquarius, the same semi-sextile relationship continues and is equally awkward.
Mars does not exactly love being in Pisces. If we consider Mars is happiest in its home sign of Aries, the reason becomes clear . . . Mars loves a clear direction with decisive action. Pisces almost always will choose the most indirect, roundabout way possible, usually to avoid confrontation, something Aries thrives on. However please do not make the mistake many do of believing Pisces is weak or a pushover. This is the sign of hidden resources and unexpected depths with an immensely powerful undertow.
Speaking of hidden resources, Mars will be conjunct Neptune in Pisces from now until Wednesday of next week. Talk about the potential for getting lost walking around the block! Mars conjunct Neptune is very distractible, especially if one is not quite sober for one reason or another. A good use of this conjunction is doing a spiritual retreat of some kind . . . not going to a Super Bowl party, drinking too much and attempting to drive home afterwards. Designated drivers are the key to making it home in one piece as they represent the best of Neptune.
Now Venus in Aquarius is “other” and usually proud of it. She appreciates a beautiful mind as much as a beautiful body. Unconventional and free-spirited, Venus in Aquarius is not given to jealousy or possessiveness . . . one reason why Scorpio-Aquarius relationships often run aground.
Neptune in Pisces will be exactly semi-sextile Venus on Monday and I see this as creating opportunities for romantic misunderstandings, especially with Mars conjunct Neptune at the same time. What Venus in Aquarius may see as a brief fling, Mars in Pisces could turn into soul mates, bonded forever. Please put all expectations on hold until later in the week when both Mars and Venus come out of Neptune’s fogbank.
If you are seeking True Love with all the bells and whistles, it would be a good idea to wait until Venus enters Pisces on 25 February, joining Mars. Of course, Venus will conjoin Neptune in Pisces within a day or two and it will be rose-colored glasses for everyone! For now, emotionally sensitive Mars in Pisces will continue to make overtures to emotionally detached Venus in Aquarius she will likely misinterpret . . . very hard on budding romance.
I have Mars-Neptune conjunct natally (in Sag, which used to be ruled by Neptune) so I wonder if I can experience some kind of effect or recognisable thing, because the conjunction of the following days is taking place in my first house, although Pisces is intercepted 😉 For me natally, it seems like there is a lot of energy put into Neptune-subjects, but fading away by lacking a goal. Although Pisces is intercepted, Neptune always seems to win 😉

Oh yeah, that’s dear sweet Neptune all right . . . “fading away for lack of a goal”. Saturn any help in your chart? I have my Moon conj Neptune w/Saturn sextile and it has seemed to help me come back into reality before I do too much damage. I did waste a lot of time in my twenties chasing some romantic dream in between bouts of practicality. Probably why it took me 10 years to get a college degree. LOL

Soooo true with the Capricornian man in my life stuck in his rut constrained by his and others’ rules. Me, I just love breaking them 😉
Just took a look at my Solar Return chart for today and my natal Venus in Pisces (opp Pluto in Virgo) is looking crowded with Merc, Mars, Neptune and Chiron dancing past. Neptune in Pisces is trine my natal Neptune at 6:57 in Scorpio where Saturn, the Moon and North Node are transiting too!
At least Pluto in Capricorn is now past my natal Saturn heading towards my Asc.

LOL! Keeps him on his toes!! 😀

That’s a lot of Pisces! You do get the Saturn-Pluto sextile in your SR as well as the Jupiter-Uranus sextile. I like see the Moon in Libra w/Venus in Aquarius, good support for your Aquarius Sun. These days the chart pattern is a Locomotive and thankfully in your SR, the Moon is the leading planet not Saturn. 🙂

Hi Diane,
O yes, there was cetrainly something recognisable… had to do with family, (hidden)anger and a little too much wine (I think this is an exact example of the negative side of Mars-Neptune), which used to be “routine” when I was much younger. But had not see this coming! Saturn had no say in it, because my natal Saturn is in Cancer (so, restrictions on the feeling of safety in the home environment, or feeling stuck in the home environment) and natal Saturn does not make any contact with Mars, Neptune or their signs. Only a natal opposition Saturn-Venus, with Venus in the 12th house, so hard to grasp!
But anyway, I survived 😉 and now the anger is expressed, I know better what to do. Or to be more exact: what NOT to do! Maybe a Saturn-lesson after all… Hope that the next Neptunian transits (sextile to my natal Sun and later Mercury) and the trine Neptune just made to my natal Uranus (which is being explained as an enlightening experience, well I’m still waiting 😉 will prove that Neptune can also have a more positive side. Like a little dream coming true or something… you never know with Neptune!

Sad but true. Mars-Neptune conj in Pisces is even more susceptible to intoxicants. One of the reasons I avoid those is because a combination of 1st House South Node in Sagittarius & intoxicants leads to a total lack of tact. My Libra Sun cringes just thinking about it.

I sure hope you can realize your dreams too . . . though I also agree with Neptune you never know.

PS: I have been chasing romantic dreams all of the time when Neptune transited through Capricorn (together with Uranus) but it took too much time and energy and ended up in romantic dissapointment. Needless to say that I got my college degree at the age of 31?! 🙂

Oh I so do understand . . . 😀

LOL you want to hear about Mars and Venus not talking? I have Mars in Pisces natally and while it isn’t in it’s detriment, it isn’t exactly happy in a water sign either. Tonight I’m going out on a date with a Pisces, we both have Venus in Aries at the exact same degree. She has Mars conjunct Jupiter in Virgo, exactly opposite the current transiting Mars in Pisces. So that’s a Mars opposition Mars (and Jupiter riding along). I expect to be eaten alive. We have been acting weird around the office, trying to pretend we aren’t attracted and nothing’s going on, while other people are pointing out to me that she’s obviously attracted. Well at least we both are totally Neptunian types, so we both probably are in our element right now, and we’ve both got heavy Mercury things happening too, so we talk and talk. The question is, will we ever shut up and get on with it?

I started laughing when I read this, Charles! Lots & lots of talk is on order this weekend w/Mercury & Mars sq Jupiter in Gemini. I do like seeing Venus conj Venus in synastry because you tend to enjoy the same sort of activities as well as a similar sense of the aesthetic. Have a great time!
