Lest we forget it is still Aries season, this New Moon at 20° 41′ Aries on 10 April 2013 at 02:35 AM PDT will remind us. The Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars are all within 3° of one another shouting we are ARIES from the roof tops.
Aries is “first person, singular” and that is what this New Moon in all about. Unlike the recent Libra Full Moon where the luminaries connected to the outer planets, this time the luminaries’ aspect only personal planets – Venus and Mars are conjunct and Mercury in Pisces is semi-sextile. Our motivation comes from within. What inspires us? Where do we want to focus our thoughts and energy? Are there new projects we wish to dive into? What changes do we need to make to improve our personal health and well-being?
Mercury in Pisces semi-sextile the New Moon does add a dreamy note and if your best ideas drift up from your unconscious, this aspect will help. Take note of what surfaces just as you are going to sleep or upon awakening. Mercury is only days away from entering Aries (13 April) and once it does, we probably will be fully engaged in making things happen rather than spending time in contemplation.
That Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries is heating up our love lives and encouraging plenty of flirting of the rambunctious teasing variety. Whilst your typical fire sign will love it, more sensitive water types may be offended. Take a few moments to consider your audience before letting fly. Of the air signs, Libra is most likely to find Aries style flirting over the top. Libra does love the Aries zest for life and all but wince occasionally at what comes out of a typical Aries mouth. Earth signs are so “earthy” a little crudeness doesn’t even register.
Is this a good New Moon to initiate something new and launch new ventures? Overall I’m say yes though I do have some caveats. If it is something personal like getting on board with a new exercise regime or starting a personal blog to express your thoughts, then go for it. Aries at its best is all about who we are as individuals and the efforts we expend on our own behalf.
Adding to the urge to move is the Locomotive Chart Pattern with Saturn in Scorpio as the leading planet. This suggests the best path to success includes running our ideas past someone of experience or using a proven format of some kind. A well structured plan backed by the powers that be is far more likely to win approval.
Big projects aimed at influencing the collective may not fare so well. The reason I say that is because the very stressful pattern revolving around Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Scorpio, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn is still in effect though this is the last lunation it will be. Fresh, innovative ideas continue to be met with skepticism by the entrenched powers that be. By the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on 25 April Jupiter will have moved out of orb leaving Uranus in Aries to battle it out alone.
Neptune in Pisces continues to dream its dreams and unless you have personal planets or Ascendant at 4°, you are not likely to be troubled by it . . . thankfully.
Individual effort counts on this Aries New Moon. Put your best foot forward and don’t look back! Being tactful never hurts either . . . something Aries can overlook.

On a personal note: All of the Aries stellium is in my fifth house opposing the midpoint between my Libra Sun and Moon . . . that ought to crank up my creativity! Mercury in Pisces is trine my natal Ascendant, helpful for saying the right thing at the right time. I always need help with that! *grin*
Jupiter in Gemini is back making his last pass over my North Node in Gemini. Maybe it is time to improve my interface with my audience by giving my website a face lift. If I decide to get serious about doing so, I’ll let everyone know.
Important Update: Spring is here and the demands of the growing season are beginning to kick in. I may post less here and add more daily astro-weather reports on my FB page (those show up on Twitter).
