Observations: Beautiful Venus Enters Cancer

On June 2 Venus leaves witty Gemini for the waters of Cancer. Here she softens and becomes far more sensitive to other people’s feelings. No more edgy humor to attract attention now, this Venus prefers gentle gestures and warm smiles.

Venus in Cancer is the most domestic of the water sign Venuses. She is kinder and far less intense than Scorpio, and less given to fantasy than Pisces. Her style tends to be on the traditional side in both appearance and relationships. This can cause internal dissonance if the Venus in Cancer person has Sun, Moon or Rising in say quirky Aquarius or adventurous Aries.

Men with Venus in Cancer are often good about voluntarily doing housework or taking care of the children. They prefer women who are comfortable in the kitchen as well as the boardroom. If you need help, it will bring out their protective side . . . something most Cancers have. Even the bachelors usually turn their living quarters into something that feels homey.

If you are interested in someone with this Venus keep in mind they enjoy feeling wanted and needed more than most. Be sure to remember your manners and say “please” and “thank you” . . . especially if they offer to feed you!

Venus in Cancer aspected by Neptune can have a Pisces feel whilst Pluto aspects bring out a Scorpio vibe. If you have Saturn aspecting your Venus in Cancer there might Capricorn overtones whilst Mars brings out her inner Aries. Uranus aspects are jarring to this conventional Venus, pushing her to be more independent than she may like. Jupiter aspects might encourage enjoying good food a little too much.

Venus will be in Cancer from June 2 until June 27. During that time she will be part of a Grand Trine with Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, exact on June 7. If you need to make amends with family this is a great influence for smoothing the way.

    • Hmmmmm . . . from 19 June to 23 June Venus & Mercury will conjoin your Venus. Who knows what loveliness you could attract to yourself?? 😀 Venus acts as an attractant whilst Mars pursues. Honey, vinegar and all that good stuff. *smirk*

  1. Jupiter enters my 8th house Cancer on June 4th. I hope it makes friends with transiting Venus. I read another astrologers’ blog where she mentioned she couldn’t imagine what it means to be a Libra these days…..patience, tolerance and the hope for a better tomorrow.

    • Hi Linda,

You may want to pay attention to Mercury & Venus in Cancer moving thru your 8th house squaring your Libra planets. Jupiter will follow them. Around July 20, Mars will conj Jupiter in Cancer, squaring your Mercury. That may produce some verbal fireworks! 🙂

It will mid-June 2014 when Jupiter will complete a T-Square w/your Libra Sun sq natal Jupiter when things may get interesting. This transit occurred before in June 2002.

      • July seems….full of surprises and with Mercury, you mentioned a few months back that this was a time to say things that finally needed to be said . Those squares to my Libra planets are in the 11th house. I’ll bet its the in-laws. Thanks, Diane, you are the best.

I laughed out loud at this one Diane! How I wish it were true in my case! My mate has Venus in Cancer and this is something he never, ever does. It’s like pulling teeth with this one!

But he does appreciate my femininity very much, he enjoys my cooking, cleaning, and caretaking. He’s needy, requires lots of shows of affection and love. I have Venus and Moon in Gemini so I’m not real touchy-feely. It can be a challenge for me.

How is his Venus aspected? That makes a huge difference as does the Moon signs.

An antidote to your air preponderance perhaps? Sometimes we unconsciously choose those help bring a measure of balance. You have a loaded 7th house which operates much like Libra. Relationships are a fertile “teaching” ground. heh, heh, heh
