These days those of us with air sign Suns are not doing so well. There will be no planets in air until Mars enters Libra on December 7 except those times when the Moon is in Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. No planets in air makes it much more challenging to keep discussions on an intellectual level or have a meeting of the minds.
The long years when Neptune was in Aquarius meant there was at least one planet in air. Then Saturn spent two and half years in Libra, followed by Jupiter in Gemini for a year. Now all of the outer planets except Uranus are in earth and water. It won’t be until September 10, 2016 when Jupiter reaches Libra will that air will have a consistent presence once more . . . and that will only be for a year.
We’ll survive of course but in order to thrive we might have to get creative. Understanding how to be effective with no air support might come easiest for Gemini, Libra and Aquarius Sun folk who have either their Mercury or Moon in earth or water. An earth or water sign on the Ascendant is also helpful but Venus and Mars not so much. As a Libra Sun with Mercury in Scorpio conjunct a Scorpio Ascendant, I can usually manage to keep my head above water with help. I have found Betty Lundsted’s book, Astrological Insights into Personality, very useful because her insights into the elements in the natal chart are clear and easy to understand.
It will be good for us air signs to explore the watery emotional realm and learn more about what makes earth signs so self sufficient. Besides, what choice do we have? As for you fire signs out there, Uranus in Aries has your backs now and next July Jupiter moves into Leo for a year so you’re good.
