Observations: Weekend for Contemplation Ahead

In order to take full advantage of the Sagittarius New Moon’s kick start, spending the weekend seriously contemplating your next move would be a good idea. The Moon will be in Scorpio and in its balsamic phase, both excellent for exploring our inner landscapes.

There are a number of aspects both waxing and waning that support the calm, careful deliberation needed to make good choices. First we have a waxing Mercury in Scorpio sextile to Mars in Virgo which is perfect for doing research and defining our goals. Mercury in Scorpio is probably the best at digging out all the pertinent information to be had and no one is better at implementing detailed plans than Mars in Virgo. Then there is the waxing trine between optimistic, caring Jupiter in Cancer and disciplinarian Saturn in Scorpio. Granted this last aspect functions more as morale support but that’s always helpful. The Scorpio Moon will add its weight to both of these aspects as it conjoins Saturn and Mercury, giving hints about the emotions driving us to consider the “whys”.

On the fire sign side of things, the Sagittarius Sun makes its glorious trine to Uranus in Aries as well as the limiting semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn this weekend. Whilst these are not the most comfortable set of aspects, they do keep the creative juices flowing.

Remember next week brings two major planetary shifts: Mercury finally leaves watery Scorpio for the fires of Sagittarius and Mars leaves Virgo for airy Libra. We are probably going to far more interested in the action outside than contemplating our navels in solitude. If our plans are firmed up and ready to launch, then we can go, go, go. If not, there is a good chance those great ideas may be lost due to all the new, shiny distractions.

    • I’m so happy to end the navel-gazing myself. 🙂

Me too! I’m really enjoying the Sagittarius Sun & Mercury in my 1st house. 😀
