Libra Weekly Horoscopes for January 20, 2014

One of the quietest skies we’ve had in awhile is happening this week which means there will be few celestial distractions. There are a couple of Mercury aspects late in the week, a Mercury-Mars trine and the first Mercury-Saturn square. Since Mercury moves right along neither aspect will be noticeable for more than a day.

Friday, January 24, 2014, is when Mercury in Aquarius is smoothly trine Mars in Libra. This is great for having inspiring and thoughtful dialogues with friends and colleagues. It is an excellent time to schedule meetings at work because differences can be aired without people ending up at each other’s throats. The beauty of having the air element activated is being able to operate on the mental level again. Perspective is the key to negotiating compromises. The exception this week is on Wednesday when the Libra Moon faces off with Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto as well as conjoining Mars . . . very contentious!

Saturday Mercury bumps up against Saturn in Scorpio. This is called a reality check. Saturn is very good at reminding everyone of the necessity of boundaries and limitations. There is nothing wrong with having a clearly defined framework to work within so don’t get too bent out of shape.

Here’s the deal this week. Without celestial fireworks demanding attention, those of us who are undergoing painful outer planet transits may have to face the reality of what those transits are doing to us, both internally and externally. Uranus is now at 9° Aries and Pluto at 12° Capricorn. If you are one of those with planets in the cardinal signs at either of those degrees, you could notice the effects more than usual this week. Mars in Libra is wheeling along this week moving from 19° to 21° Libra with no interference now and if you have personal planets in the cardinal signs between those degrees, your energy levels could get a lift. For me this week finds Saturn in Scorpio exactly conjoining my natal Mercury for the first pass and triggering my natal Mercury-Uranus inconjunct, not typically fun and occasionally hard on the nervous system.

Air sign folk in general are probably enjoying the boost in mental activity having the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius brings to the Aquarius sector in their charts. The exchange of ideas, theories and fun facts is flowing once more and you don’t have to be an air sign to enjoy it!

Celebrate the first week of the Sun in airy Aquarius by looking forward instead of back. Have an enjoyable week!

It is time for you to start seriously contemplating what you want to do when you grow up, Aries, and this is a good week to start thinking about it. Look to your partner and friends for advice, input and lively conversations.

For someone who almost always prefers to stick with the same way of doing things, Taurus, you can be open to innovative ideas for furthering your career goals. This week employees and coworkers are an excellent resource in this area. Take notes!

Expanding your knowledge base and playing with new ideas is your idea of a good time, Gemini. Sharing these with others is even better and this is a great week for that. You might run into some resistance to your more theoretical notions on the weekend.

Sitting down with your accountant or lawyer to discuss things like wills and inheritance issues are not your favorite things, Cancer, but they are a necessary evil. This week other family members are more open to these discussions than usual. It’s time!

Your ability to communicate your needs in a clear and effective manner works well for you this week, Leo, and spending time chatting with your significant other may be very pleasant. You might want to avoid bringing up your in laws over the weekend.

Exploring new and innovative ways to improve your personal health and fitness regimes is usually something you enjoy doing, Virgo. At this time you might even be able to turn sharing those ideas with others into ready cash. Always a good thing, right?

Letting your inner child out to play is probably the best thing you can do for yourself now, Libra. It will not only provide you with some entertainment but may also prove to be an excellent outlet for excess energy. A “win win” scenario.

Taking some time to explore your roots by talking to older family members might appeal to you now, Scorpio. You are good at extracting information and putting it together in a usable form for others to learn from. Those discussions may get heated this weekend.

What might be on your agenda now, Sagittarius, is spending time with your siblings and close friends talking about anything and everything. Right now you are more interested in hanging out in the neighborhood than traveling abroad. Sunday is your day to play.

This is a transitional week for you, Capricorn, and you may feel the need to spend some time taking stock of your personal finances as well as what you value the most. What your next career move is definitely part of this process.

This week you might have several reminders as to why you have a reputation for being able to take the long view, Aquarius. Your ability to see the big picture clearly is working well now and you can help others do the same.

You are probably going through one of those times, Pisces, when much of what is going with you is hidden from view. The key to understanding all of this continues to be revealed in your dreams and these may be both a source of inspiration and dread.

If you know your Rising sign, read the horoscope for it too. 😀

  1. But what with Chiron at 19 degrees Aries, and Pluto at 9 degrees Libra?! I hope this Mercury in Aquarius (in my first house) will help, because I definitely need something to free my mind (and especially free my heart)> Mars opposite chiron (mars in 8th, chiron in 2nd) together with Uranus (in 2nd) opposite Pluto (in 8th) doesn’t look like a release to me now. Rather a kind of painful balance.

    • Hi Brex!

OK, here’s a thought for you. The Aquarius New Moon will conjoin your natal Pallas & be exactly sextile your Mars-Neptune. This might be what you need to see your next step. Here’s some info on Pallas in Aquarius from my software:
      Pallas in Aquarius
You’ve a talent for weaving multiple and even disparate threads together into a single, unified tapestry that some might think impossible. It doesn’t take much to transform a milling crowd into a pulsing party, but you’ve got to find the common beat, the central melody that all can join together and sing.

It is the aspects with the tightest orbs we notice first and foremost. 😀

      xoxoxoxo diane~

  2. Well, Diane, I am speechless and grateful. Somehow this is just what happened, or is still happening. I had two nice social events this weekend, with a larger crowd and a smaller crowd. Although I did not know much people, I mingled in very well, felt very accepted and I think I made new friends. One of them a woman with Aqu ASC like me, and I think her Sun is very close to my Mars-Neptune conjunction. So, how accurate can it be?! I am quietly enjoying it within myself, and will take some more time thinking over the text about Pallas in Aquarius. I feel like I have been searching for that ‘common beat’ all of my life, but also feel like I am coming close, or at least closer, now. Oh yes, I have an exact example: there was a man who was going to sing an emotionally loaded song, so I felt like I had to harnass myself inside, to get through it, without sinking into my heartache again. But… the crowd (!) slowly and softly, started to sing along, and so a very lonely feeling was turned into something shared. Shared loneliness, how beautifully! It was cathartic. Maybe even somehow to do with Mars in Libra. So… your words are working out already, but I am happy with confirmation 🙂 Thanks! XXX

  3. About the common beat: I used to be a drummer 😉
And another thing to add with the new moon conjunct my Pallas: also conjunct my progressed Sun!
Too bad I really hate embroidery or patchworking 😉 but in aquarius it’s more mental thank God (Uranus)
