From the time the Sun dashes into Aries on March 20, 2014, the energy will be running high and erratic due to Jupiter in Cancer squaring Uranus in Aries for its entire stay in Aries. Jupiter is the handle of a Bucket Pattern on the Spring Equinox, setting the dial to over the top in most activities. By the time all is said and done, we will very grateful to the calming influence of Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces in the equinox chart . . . that and the emotional grounding of the Moon conjunct Saturn in Scorpio.
The critical degrees for Aries Season are from 10° to 13° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) which is how far Jupiter will travel between March 20 and April 20 when the Sun enters stolid Taurus. Those of us who have an Ascendant, Midheaven or personal planets in the cardinal signs from about 9° to 15° may find their lives are increasingly subject to change without notice. Some of you may have already noticed this beginning to happen. Living with an Aries who has four planets in Aries going from 5° to 22° I am almost inured to having my daily routine routinely disrupted, and I like it as much now as when it first started in 2010 . . . NOT! Thankfully there have been plenty of extended periods of calm in between flurries of interruptions.
The week following the Aries New Moon on March 30 is hopping! The Sun triggers the cardinal T-Square by first squaring Jupiter, then conjoining Uranus and finally squaring Pluto in Capricorn over a period of three days. There is a brief lull before Mercury enters Aries on April 7. The following day the Sun will oppose retrograde Mars in Libra which can result in people losing their tempers over the slightest little thing. During the final week of Aries Season it is Mercury in Aries’ turn to be quarrelsome. Only by this time Mars in Libra is finally beginning to complete the Grand Cross when Mercury hits all four planets in the Grand Cross from April 14 to 16. Lively times!
Just so you know it will after the Sun enters Taurus before the Grand Cross is as tight as it’s going to get. Taurus is far less excitable than Aries and a Grand Cross is an exceedingly stable pattern, therefore my guess is Aries Season will feature the greatest amount of drama, largely due to a very high level of frustration and the need to vent those frustrations. Aries’ ruler Mars is retrograde in Libra which means it is even more indecisive than usual, guaranteed to send the movers and shakers of this world right around the bend!
Aries Season is bound to get very loud at times and maybe a little scary. However, most of us will probably still be here when the dust settles so please remember to breathe!
