Hang on tight! It looks like a wild ride this week! Mercury in Aries is instigator in chief as it hits the cardinal T-Square on Monday and opposes Mars in Libra on Wednesday. Words can become weapons in an instant and things could be said in the heat of the moment, we may end up regretting for a long, long time.
One common scenario I see occurring is people being shocked when they find out not everyone thinks like they do, particularly fire and air folk. The fallout in family circles could last for weeks. Assumptions are another source of trouble these days. Assuming your significant other will be thrilled to attend a party or event with you may not turn out well. A better plan is to ask them their preferences before buying tickets or accepting invitations. Thoughtful, considerate behaviors and thinking CAREFULLY before speaking are ways to help offset this turbulent atmosphere.
We also have the first major eclipse this year, the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra on Tuesday. The effects of this eclipse may spread out like ripples in a pond, both before and after it occurs. As I see it, we can choose to celebrate peace with Venus in Pisces, or declare war with that reluctant warrior, retrograde Mars in Libra. The waxing Grand Cross is a prominent feature in this lunation.
Speaking of the delightful Venus in Pisces, she is trine Jupiter in Cancer on Thursday, sextile Pluto in Capricorn on Friday, inconjunct poor Mars in Libra on Saturday and conjoins Chiron in Pisces on Sunday. Her kind, patient, compassionate presence offers an antidote to the trouble Mercury in Aries is intent on stirring up. Interestingly enough much of the support we get from Venus in Pisces may be non-verbal as opposed to the very verbal Mercury in Aries. Hearing just the right song, a loving touch or being enfolded in a loving embrace are ways this Venus shows us she cares.
A more subtle event is Pluto stationing retrograde on Monday at 13° Capricorn. When Pluto slows to station it can remain at the same degree for four months, in this instance from 26 February to 4 June . . . slowly grinding away. Those who have personal planets or Angles at 13° in the cardinal signs are probably all too aware of this.
All those people out there who need a break from Aries energy will get one starting April 19 when the Sun leaves Aries for the calmer pastures of Taurus. This is a good thing because on Sunday, we see cardinal Grand Cross begin to shape up starting with Jupiter in Cancer squaring Uranus in Aries and opposing Pluto in Capricorn. In my opinion those most likely to experience this up close and personal are those with personal planets and Angles at 13° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) plus being in the midst of a cyclical event like a Saturn Return or transiting Uranus aspecting natal Uranus. Monday through Wednesday of next week the other components fall into place but I will save that discussion for next week’s post! We have enough to process already, OK?! 🙂
I’m going to put my opinion out there on the best way to handle this week’s dynamic aspects and that is to speak less and listen more, do your very best to stay as neutral as possible by avoiding expectations, don’t take any unnecessary actions and practice patience and tolerance the entire time. Please remember to watch out for the other guy as well as yourself.
If you know your Rising sign, please read the horoscope for it too. 😀
Aries, please do your best to be aware of your words and how they affect others now. Your need to express your opinions is very strong and if you speak without thinking in front of those in authority, it might not work out well. Relationships with family may be strained too. Intense physical activity might help burn off excess energy.
Due to the peace and goodwill your ruling planet, Venus, is spreading around these days, Taurus, you have a better chance than some of staying neutral. You can also see the value of not throwing away all the tried and true way of thinking and being just because a new idea sounds appealing. Help ground your more volatile friends out.
Gemini, if anyone can harness the creative potential floating around now, it is you. That is if you can carve some thinking time out of your busy social schedule. If you are involved in humanitarian efforts or you have friends who are, unexpected events may demand your time and energy in support of those causes.
All the turmoil these days could leave you feeling emotionally and physically drained, Cancer. Your work environment may be especially fraught and chaotic this week and if you work with a partner, their need to micro-manage may drive you batty. Be creative about finding time to get in the fresh air, by the water if you can.
Leo, ordinarily you can handle drama and excitement swirling around you quite well but this week even you might feel overloaded. Besides, you may have more difficulty than usual being pleasant and charming to those close to you. And you may also feel more strongly than usual about controlling the smallest details in your daily routines . . . ease off on those for the sake of your health! Please . . .
Your thoughts can take on an incisive edge this week, Virgo, even if you don’t share those with others. Please don’t be too hard on yourself either. Take a leaf from Pisces’s notebook and have faith all with come right in the end. Resist the urge to be overly nitpicky when it comes to your creative efforts too. Take some time to relax with friends.
It would be in your best interests now, Libra, to choose to pursue peace and moderation. Allowing yourself to be drawn into other people’s battles is seldom a good idea and there will plenty of those erupting around you. Be your pleasant, smiling self as you go about your daily routines this week and others will thank you for it later.
You have a powerful presence these days, Scorpio, and your words can carry quite a punch for better or worse. Please remember it is not always possible to save everyone from the consequences of their bad choices. Who knows, maybe they need to undergo those experiences to see the error of their ways. Listen to your better angels and be there to help pick up the pieces.
Sagittarius, the urge to take a big gamble on a very risky venture could take over your thoughts this week. The heart of the matter is whether or not this is something you can really afford to do. Before you make a final decision, sit down and talk it over with someone you know has your best interests at heart and has known you for a long time.
You have a lot on your plate these days, Capricorn, and as much as you’d like to oversee every little detail personally, it may be wiser to delegate some of those responsibilities. Dealing with an unexpected family crisis, real (or manufactured to get your attention), may be the most demanding. Look to close friends for help or advice.
Your unique perspective can be both a blessing and a curse for you now, Aquarius. Getting the words out in a coherent manner may turn out to be more challenging than you realized, in part because your mind is racing ahead of your tongue. Take a deep breath, relax and the words will come to you.
Once again, Pisces, your inclination to reach out to those in need of a sympathetic ear will be needed. If you stop and think about, you probably know exactly where to send people to get the help they need. After all, you usually do have a great network of competent friends and acquaintances.

The subject of care-taking has been a near-constant theme lately, on levels ranging from professional to family to personal to intimate. I’m having to watch people suffer for poor choices, bad decision, and unfortunate circumstances, and in most cases there is little I can do but listen compassionately.
Hey Joe! 😀
I’m having to watch people suffer for poor choices, bad decision, and unfortunate circumstances, and in most cases there is little I can do but listen compassionately.
Me too . . . very frustrating experience. When the lord of karma, Saturn, is involved the lessons can be pretty tough . . . nothing compared to Pluto though. I’ve helplessly watched people frantically cling to “stuff” as they were being dragged under when all they had to do was let go. 😦 Enough said . . .
I see it is your Chiron-Venus opp taking part in the Grand Cross. Be sure to read Christina’s post on Pluto in Cappy. She makes an important distinction between Venus & Pluto when it comes to wealth.
Take care!

Thanks, will do. Oh BTW, I got a slightly more accurate birth time for my dad but I still think it doesn’t quite fit. Evidently it’s not Pluto right on his Asc, but Saturn. Regardless of which birth time I have, his chart is chock-full of squares and opps, and only a few trines and sextiles. His wound is slowly healing, and things are looking less scary than a month ago, but he’s done with walking about easily, I’m afraid, and certainly no more lawn mowing etc. They’re looking at selling and moving to a condo or something. Anyway I’ve been asking him to start processing stuff with a counselor because I have a feeling it’s time to start a new relationship with the Lord of Time & Karma.
I’m apparently starting to register Uranus transiting trine my natal Uranus at 14 Leo (and thus my Asc/Moon 17/18 as well) – at least if my inability to settle down to fall asleep and stay asleep is any indication (sigh). Presumably I’ll get used to the energy eventually and settle down. Meanwhile I’m working hard with Saturn transit going on, but this time around things are going much better. Got a raise and a bonus recently! Plus just closed out The Project From Hell. And it’s finally spring (well, except for inch of snow this morning weighing down the daffodils…)!
