Here in the northern latitudes midsummer arrives on June 21 this year and it is strongly cardinal again, reminiscent of 2010 thru 2012. The Moon is in assertive Aries widely conjunct Uranus, tempting people to push their personal agendas regardless of who opposes them. Mars in Libra is still within orb of opposing Uranus in Aries and squaring Pluto in Capricorn adding more fuel to the fire. It looks like we have yet another six months of general contentiousness to contend with.
The “give me liberty or give me death” crowd represented by the Aries Moon conjunct Uranus are not likely to listen to compromise even though it would be in their best interests to do so. Rather than giving them more fuel, disengage and quietly walk away . . . something many will find hard to do.
The Aries Moon also conjoins the South Node, making it part of a T-Square with the North Node in Libra squaring Jupiter in Cancer. What may become more apparent is the increase in clannishness where people choose to divide their world into those who are “family” and those who are not. Rather than accept this state of affairs, we need to draw on Jupiter in Cancer’s big heart and expand our concept of family to include of all sentient beings and to see the entire planet as our home.
For those like myself who far prefer peace and harmony over running from crisis to crisis, there are some helpful aspects. One is a gentle, harmonious trine between Chiron in Pisces and Saturn in Scorpio and another is Venus in Taurus’s sextile to Jupiter in Cancer. Both ask us to keep our hearts open and empathize rather than being quick to pass judgment.
Retrograde Mercury in Gemini conjoins the Cancer Sun and is exactly semi-sextile Venus in Taurus. Usually Mercury in Gemini is all sharp edged brilliance and prefers to live in the mental realms but being up close and personal with the emotionally aware Cancer Sun and softened by Venus’s influence, it may be forced to recognize the possibility of emotional intelligence as well as intellectual.
The Libra North Node’s message is one of compromise and cooperation, not only on this solstice but the next as well in December when Mercury, Pluto, Venus and the Moon in Capricorn all create a T-Square with the nodal axis. If we don’t heed Cancer’s emotional appeals perhaps Capricorn’s hard-headed common sense approach will get through. We are living in interesting times!
We may as well prepare ourselves to embrace more change because the Uranus-Pluto square continues to be a major factor. However by now we are probably familiar with the lessons it is teaching us and hopefully are busy doing our homework. Hang in there!
