Yeehaw! Here comes Mars in Sagittarius!

We’re about to get more fire to energize and inspire us. Mars leaves the deep, dark waters of Scorpio for fiery adventurous Sagittarius on Saturday, September 13. This will be a very welcome change for fire sign folk and Leos in particular. Mars and Saturn in Scorpio joined forces and put a serious dent in Leo’s joy in August.

In the days ahead having at least three planets in fire will be common. It will be Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries as the constants plus one or more faster moving planets like the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. The result is a better balance in elements and that usually means a more balanced outlook. We’ve had an abundance of water for quite some time now and it will be good to have some fire to warm things up. By the way, Saturn will be entering Sagittarius in December for better or worse. I’ll be addressing that event in the not too distant future.

For those like myself who are more than ready to lighten up, Mars in Sagittarius will help. This is a very physically active Mars who loves to play practical jokes, be outdoors for hours on end and go on road trips. It will be creating a marvelous Grand Trine in fire with fun loving Jupiter in Leo and outrageous Uranus in Aries for roughly the first ten days-two weeks of October. If we decide to focus on enjoying life and ignoring the dark side for awhile, we will be able to for a change.

First we will need to navigate the square between Mars and Neptune in Pisces on September 21. This one makes me think of the sacred fool or Don Quixote, tilting at windmills and believing in six impossible things before lunch. It can also be quite debilitating and drain energy away like nobody’s business. If you have personal planets or Ascendant from 4° to 6° in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), this square may play havoc with your sense of sobriety.

A particularly sweet sextile between the lovely Venus in Libra and Mars happens on the weekend of October 18-19. Love this one for have a great time with your date. Go to an outdoor concert, a ball game or a light-hearted movie. Humor is very seductive and a quality most of us rate highly in potential partners.

Unless you count semi-sextiles as major aspects, Mars in Sagittarius gets off very easy this time around since Sagittarius sits in between Scorpio and Capricorn where the other two heavies are now. It will be semi-sextile Pluto on September 29 and Saturn on October 12. A possible result of those aspects is grumbling about have to follow some stupid rule.

Mars rolls into earthy Capricorn on October 26 when it gets right down to business and the gate shuts behind us again. Better head out and have fun while we can!

  1. Perfect for my partner and me! He sings on TV tonight after a week of struggling with Accounts and then we both go on the holiday of a lifetime in the Canadian Rockies. He has lots of planets in Leo and my Moon is in Sag 🙂
