Mars in Aries steps up and joins the fun this week, which may cause all hell to break loose for some. Nonstop action is what this Mars prefers and the less forethought the better. Mars in Aries often appears in the natal charts of people who love to ride to the rescue . . . firefighters, police and emergency workers.
Monday Mars in Aries is trine Master Jupiter in Leo and these two are bound to create excitement wherever they land in your chart. Remember what I just said about acting without thinking? This trine only adds to that tendency making it the ideal time to count to ten before jumping in with both feet.
The most tension will probably be felt midweek on Wednesday when Mars conjoins Uranus in Aries and squares Pluto in Capricorn. Not the best time to pick a fight even if you are itching to start one because matters could escalate beyond any possibility of dialing it back. Use this powerful energy to promote peace, not war. Practice nonviolent means of conflict resolution.
Mercury leaves fixed Aquarius for mutable Pisces on Thursday and many will begin to lose their taste for verbal clashes and confrontations in general. Mercury in Pisces is the master of sounding agreeable while committing to nothing. We do end up with no planets in air except the Moon until April 11 when Venus enters Gemini. Seeking perspective and detachment may need conscious effort.
Other big news this week is Saturn in Sagittarius stationing retrograde on Saturday at 4°. This event will affect those with personal planets and/or Ascendant between 3° to 5° in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) the most. Saturn usually spends up to nine weeks at the same degree where it changes direction, so the pressure has been on for several weeks already. In a larger sense, Saturn Stations usually create a sense of sluggishness and a lack of momentum. Right now this may help counteract the urgent desire of the other planets in fire signs (Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus) to press ahead.
We are in an intense period now and it might bring back memories of April 2014 and the Cardinal Grand Cross. The greatest difference between the sky then and now is there are far fewer planets in cardinal signs for the final exact square between Uranus and Pluto. The Sun, Mercury and Neptune will all in Pisces – who has no interest in creating more stress in our lives. By the New Moon in Pisces next week, Venus will have moved into calm Taurus and Mars will no longer be conjoining Uranus. There will be those who are agitating for violent change but they may find their audience is no longer as engaged as it was last year.
This week the Moon starts off the week in reserved, watery Scorpio who prefers to sit back and watch the fire sign antics rather than participate. Late Wednesday she moves into fiery Sagittarius where she conjoins a static Saturn before running off to play with Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be the liveliest days this week. By the weekend the Moon arrives in earthy Capricorn in time for the Saturn station. Once again the Moon will trigger the Uranus-Pluto square before dawn on Sunday morning for those of us who live in the USA.
Practice patience, tolerance and empathy this week to help keep the stress to a minimum. I know plenty of people thrive on running from crisis to crisis but there also many who don’t . . . please respect those differences. Peace please.
