The tide is rising ever so slowly now. The first big wave was Saturn returning to Scorpio last week, followed by the Sun entering Cancer on the Solstice. Now Mars is leaving Gemini for Cancer’s waters on Wednesday. On those days when the Moon is swimming through water signs like it is next weekend, there will be five planets in water. Seemed like only yesterday when Air was the dominate element but not anymore! We’ll need to practice breathing underwater and draw on our gut to navigate for awhile.
On Monday it is Jupiter in Leo trine Uranus in Aries making headlines. There is nothing shy or retiring about either of these two planets and their last trine is worth shouting about. It occurs at 20° which is also the degree where Uranus will be spending most of the summer. Those who have personal planets or an Ascendant between 19° and 21° in the cardinal signs are going to feel the pressure to make some type of change. This trine offers us an opportunity to choose the best path forward with its positive, creative energy, and we may as well take advantage of this because Uranus can be unrelenting in its demand for change.
The final square between Mercury in Gemini and Neptune in Pisces takes place Tuesday at 9° and will affect those with personal planets from 8° to 10° in the mutable signs. Perhaps the truth will finally emerge from behind Neptune’s illusions though I wouldn’t bet on it. If we’re lucky we will be able to finally put the recent Mercury Retrograde behind us. Mercury is back up to speed and will reach the degree it went retrograde on Saturday.
Saturn in Scorpio drags down Mars in Gemini via an inconjunct the day before Mars enters Cancer. Saturn demands Mars in Gemini fulfill its obligations before this impatient Mars moves on to something new . . . something that may not happen and will need to be dealt with at a later date. Neither Gemini nor Cancer are signs where Mars is comfortable. Gemini lacks direction and focus while Cancer prefers an indirect approach at best.
The weekend has possibilities in the romance department between a floating Grand Trine in water on Saturday (Mars in Cancer, Neptune in Pisces and the Scorpio Moon) and a playful fire trine Sunday between Venus in Leo and Uranus in Aries. The Grand Trine in water is excellent for emotional intimacy. The challenging aspect on the weekend is Mercury inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn, so what may start out as a pleasant conversation could end up feeling more like an interrogation.
The Virgo Moon is on hand Monday and Tuesday to help getting the work week off to a productive, well organized start. We’ll need that help to work around Tuesday’s Mercury-Neptune square. When the Libra Moon shows up Wednesday, people could be very crabby because it squares the Cancer Sun before bumping into Pluto in Capricorn early on Thursday and Uranus in Aries later that day. This is one of those times when having the Moon slide into calm, pragmatic Scorpio midday Friday will be a welcome change. It will remain in Scorpio for the weekend, giving us five planets in water and bringing our emotions to the surface.
Sure, there might be a few rough moments this week but I’m betting the prevailing feeling will be optimistic. Venus and Jupiter in Leo are traveling together with Jupiter trine Uranus to start the week and Venus doing the same to end it. I would suggest leaning more heavily on the intuitive for problem solving. Mercury is less than its best at this time and the atmosphere is weighted towards water rather than air. Time to go with the flow!
