Quiet descends this week in part due to Saturn in Scorpio at a virtual standstill preparing to station direct this weekend. We need fewer distractions in order to absorb the lessons Saturn has been attempting to teach us in Scorpio over the past couple of years. Once Saturn is direct and begins to gain speed going forward, we will begin to reap the rewards of our efforts. For those who spent as much as possible ignoring Saturn, those may not be pleasant . . . Saturn hates to be ignored you know. Diligent, responsible folks stand to see positive change slowly evolve into being.
The most active planet this week is Mercury in Leo. Monday Mercury is inconjunct Neptune in Pisces, and whenever Mercury is under Neptune’s thumb our ability to think clearly is usually compromised. Take your time and be extra careful when processing information. That ought to minimize any “do-overs”. Wednesday it is exactingly inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn, and I can see a connection between Monday’s screw ups and being called on the carpet Wednesday. Revise, review and pretend Mercury is retrograde the first couple of days this week. It isn’t until Sunday when Uranus in Aries is trine Mercury that we will see the Leo creativity blossom. There is a reward in the end!
Friday features the Full Moon in Aquarius and a subdued, retrograde Venus returning to Leo. The Full Moon looks to be challenging with plenty of aspects that are bound to stir the pot. Venus in Leo has one more square to Saturn in Scorpio to undergo on August 5. Let’s hope Saturn being direct will encourage him to cut her some slack.
Over the weekend, the Leo Sun is inconjunct Neptune in Pisces and the stories people tell are going to be way out of touch with reality, entertaining maybe, but pure baloney. As I mentioned above, one of the best aspects all week takes place on Sunday when Mercury is trine Uranus. We might be able to talk our way out of the dog house yet.
What happens with the Moon this week? She starts the week in cheerful Sagittarius and creates a loose Grand Trine in fire with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Leo. This occurs late Monday into Tuesday, promoting optimism. However once the Moon moves into Capricorn midday Tuesday, the tone starts to change. Tuesday afternoon’s trine to Venus in Virgo is a very pleasant influence but once the Moon conjoins Pluto midday Wednesday, the urge to micromanage can sneak in and create problems. Hands off other people’s lives! Something the square to Uranus in Aries Wednesday night will reinforce. Late afternoon Thursday the atmosphere lightens when the Moon arrives in airy Aquarius (Friday is the Full Moon) where she will stay until late Saturday. Aquarius happily partners with Leo and she will be dancing with the Leo Sun, Mercury and finally Venus on Friday and Saturday. The one tough spot is when the Aquarius Moon squares a stationary Saturn in Scorpio Saturday early afternoon . . . ouch. Dreamy Pisces Moon slips in Saturday evening, heading for her monthly commune with Neptune early Sunday morning bringing us sweet dreams. Since the Pisces Moon tends to fade into the background, the brilliant Mercury-Uranus trine will probably dominate the scene on Sunday. Not a bad end to the week.
How this week affects us can depend on how strongly Saturn at 28° Scorpio influences our charts. If it is front and center in your chart, then you will wonder why all those other people are having such a good time. Fire folk in particular are going to be bound and determined to see the bright side no matter what. The Full Moon on Friday clearly illustrates the difference between those influenced by Leo’s fiery glory and those under Saturn’s dour thumb. Remember there is no need to choose a side . . . be kind and stay centered!
