For the most part this is a calmer, lower key week than we’ve dealt with recently. Jupiter finally shifts into Virgo on Tuesday after spending the last year in exuberant Leo. Mercury is already in Virgo and is happily bustling about getting all the details in our daily lives sorted out and put in order. Mars did enter Leo over the weekend but he is in the background for now.
We have a New Moon in Leo on Friday to celebrate and in the days leading up to it, the Leo Sun will make an exact trine to Uranus in Aries on Thursday. The day after the New Moon the Leo Sun will conjoin Venus. Both of these aspects are lively, joyful and wonderfully creative. Those lucky Leos born this week will benefit from these aspects in their Solar Return charts for the coming year. Yes, I know the Leo Sun is headed towards an exact square Saturn in Scorpio but that takes place late next week and the orb will be a tad wide this week.
On Wednesday poor Mercury in Virgo will have to deal with an opposition to Neptune in Pisces. For those people who have personal planets and/or an Ascendant at 8° in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), it would be a good idea to pretend Mercury is retrograde and double check all communications, travel arrangements, etc. An opposition suggests the strong possibility misinformation is coming in from others in our lives. This situation can be corrected on Saturday when Mercury is trine Pluto in Capricorn because this is a combination that excels in digging deep to find out all the pertinent details. Those who would seek to deceive should be very wary because secrets won’t stay hidden for long.
After Jupiter in Leo kisses the Gemini Moon goodbye shortly before dawn, the Moon enters her home sign of Cancer as we begin our day on Monday. An easy dynamic between the Moon and Mercury in Virgo in the afternoon is about it for the day. Monday is easy peasy! Tuesday the Cancer Moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn early and squares Uranus in Aries in the evening. I believe the cardinal crunch effect will be further subdued by Jupiter’s arrival in earthy Virgo early Tuesday morning.
Wednesday the Moon’s time is split between Cancer and Leo. The Cancer Moon goes void-of-course following a trine to Saturn in Scorpio midday and will enter Leo later that afternoon. Thursday the Leo Moon is clearly in the balsamic phase leading into the New Moon in Leo on Friday morning. The Balsamic phase is when we need to contemplate what loose ends need to be dealt with and then do it! Most of Friday finds the Leo Moon in high spirits, celebrating her trine to Uranus and conjunction with Venus. During the night sobriety returns when she squares Saturn shortly before moving into Virgo.
Saturday and Sunday look good for taking care of the little things and going about our usual routines. The Virgo Moon will conjoin Jupiter very early Saturday morning, oppose Neptune in Pisces late in the day and conjoin Mercury at dawn on Sunday. We get our first real glimpse into what it means to have Jupiter in Virgo this weekend.
The sense of beginning our transition from Leo to Virgo begins this week even though the Sun doesn’t enter Virgo until August 23. Mercury and Jupiter in Virgo are enough to start new conversations with a more practical focus. There is still plenty of Leo vibrancy in the air but a touch of Virgo calm is making itself felt.
