Week of October 5, 2015

It’s back in the action again this week with the Libra Sun interacting with Uranus and Pluto once. Even though the Uranus-Pluto square is fading into history, those two planets are still within shouting distance and when the cardinal Libra Sun aspects them, we’ll probably notice a reemergence of cardinal crunch issues. There is close to five days between the time the Sun squares Pluto in Capricorn on Tuesday and opposes Uranus in Aries next Sunday which can help clarify the effects.

Tuesday gets my vote for most problematic day this week with three major aspects: Libra Sun square Pluto in Capricorn, Mercury in Libra sextile Saturn in Sagittarius and Mars in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces. So we have two tough aspects and one helpful aspect. Saturn gives retrograde Mercury stability and a basis for clear thinking in order to solve the issues raised by the other two aspects. Sun square Pluto almost always has to do with deciding who is in control, and Mars opposite Neptune can act as an energy drain and a source of confusion. Use common sense and be fair to all if you end up having to make a decision this week. If you have personal planets in the mutable signs at 7° you might need to make sure you are getting enough rest, eating right and ignoring red herrings.

Venus finally gets to take off her high heels and slip into something comfortable on Thursday when she enters reticent Virgo. She did spend a few days in Virgo back in late July when she stationed retrograde and now we celebrate Venus’s return to that degree. Romantic relationships could still feel strained because the first aspect Venus makes in Virgo is a square to Saturn in Sagittarius on Saturday. Wait until after the Libra New Moon on Monday, October 12 before making your moves when it comes to either love or money.

This is the week Mercury stations direct on Friday at 0° Libra, conjunct the North Node and closely sextile Saturn in Sagittarius. The association with Saturn ought to go a long ways towards easing the stress of Mercury being at a standstill. Since Mercury and Saturn will be sextile for about a week, we should have an easier time of maintaining our cool and making sensible, rational choices throughout the entire Mercury station period.

Sunday is another day with plenty of action. Jupiter in Virgo is trine Pluto in Capricorn, and the Libra Sun is both inconjunct Chiron in Pisces and opposing Uranus in Aries. We’ll need the calming influence of the Jupiter-Pluto trine in earth to handle the Sun-Uranus opposition. Chiron inconjunct the Sun earlier in the day may expose some sensitive areas in our relationships, and when Uranus comes along later demanding more autonomy, the cracks can widen. Common sense says ask for a 24 hour cooling off period before making any irrevocable decisions. As I mentioned above, there is a Libra New Moon on Monday, October 12, and that could present new options to consider.

With so many other powerful influences at work this week, we might not notice what the Moon is doing. Monday is basically a wash since the Cancer Moon goes void-of-course at dawn and doesn’t enter fiery Leo until the wee hours on Tuesday. Good day to finish up existing projects. From a lunar perspective, Tuesday looks decent with a couple of nice aspects early to Saturn in Sagittarius and Mercury in Libra though we may slide slowly out of touch with reality by evening when the Leo Moon is inconjunct Neptune in Pisces.

Wednesday is much more favorable with harmonious aspects between the Leo Moon, the Libra Sun and Uranus in Aries. With no major aspects that day we might actually be able to get something accomplished! A long void-of-course begins in the afternoon and it won’t be over until early afternoon on Thursday when the Moon enters Virgo. We get mixed messages then because the Moon will conjoin Venus before squaring Saturn in Sagittarius late afternoon . . . a little sweet with the bitter.

Friday find the Virgo Moon conjoining Mars in the morning and Jupiter in the afternoon. More good news for earth signs is a trine between the Moon and Pluto in Capricorn late afternoon. The practical is highlighted and that’s excellent news because this is the day Mercury stations direct. Instead of planning a play day Saturday, it might a good idea to work on your “honey do” list. The Virgo Moon supplies the organization and that Venus-Saturn square provides the reason. Make your loved ones happy by cleaning the house and yard. By the way, the Moon went void-of-course late Friday afternoon and won’t enter Libra until sometime before dawn on Sunday. These exceedingly long void-of-course periods are kind of a nuisance but nothing too serious.

The Libra Moon gets off to a good start Sunday by conjoining newly direct Mercury and then making a sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius. Those stressed by the major aspects Sunday could use the Libra Moon-Neptune in Pisces inconjunct in the early evening to escape from reality. By then it might be whatever helps ease the tension is OK. 🙂

We have three very good reasons to postpone making big decisions this week: Mercury is slowing to station direct, we’re in the last week leading up to a New Moon and the Mars-Neptune opposition can create all kinds of odd situations. We might see enemies where none exist and befriend those who will turn on us in a heartbeat. Stay calm, avoid expectations as much as possible and choose the practical solution over fanciful ones. Be kind and practice patience!!
