After the angst and drama of the two eclipses, it’s rather nice to have a plain vanilla New Moon at 19° 20′ Libra on 12 October 2015, 05:06 PM PDT. That’s not to say this lunation won’t have its share of excitement because with Uranus in Aries opposing the luminaries it will!
Libra’s ability to see both sides of an issue and work hard to bring those together will be needed. Fortunately Mercury in Libra conjoins the North Node and is tightly sextile Saturn in Sagittarius, bringing all of Libra’s fair mindedness and need for justice to bear. Saturn in Sagittarius is disciplined and able to see beyond the obvious answers. A semi-sextile to Venus in Virgo puts Libra’s ruler in touch with Mercury, giving us a touch of charm to help make the bitter go down a little easier. Compromise has become a dirty word in some quarters which is most unfortunate . . . how else are humans going to survive their innate differences?
If the Libra Sun and Moon can work together with Uranus in Aries all sorts of innovative solutions are possible. Relationships in particular can benefit from understanding there are many different successful ways to relate that fall outside of the “norm”. Sometimes couples are happier if they have separate dwellings and plenty of space to exercise their creativity. Others may find sharing a communal living situation is wonderful because many hands mean less work for all.
If we don’t actively seek mutually beneficial solutions or allow our partners plenty of breathing space, Uranus in Aries will be right there to open the door for them to escape. Some people are simply not cut out for one-on-one relationships either, and that’s OK too. Uranus is here to teach us to cultivate our own individuality and respect the individuality of others.
Poor Venus in Virgo is in a bit of a bind right now because she is involved in a waning square to Saturn in Sagittarius while forming a waxing opposition to Neptune in Pisces. Even though the orbs are wide, Venus moves fast enough to help draw Saturn and Neptune into a mutable T-Square. (Saturn and Neptune won’t be exactly square until November 26.) Here again with a little care and compromise, we can use these energies in very creative ways. Saturn provides the structure to turn Neptune’s dreams into reality while Venus acts as the muse. I wouldn’t consider this T-Square a good influence when it comes to love and romance because it is far too easy for unrealistic expectations and projections to occur. A little fantasy can add spice to a relationship and too much can totally kill it.
The wonderful trine between Jupiter in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn is active on this New Moon, much to the delight of those wanting to launch new business ventures. Capricorn practicality combined with Jupiter in Virgo’s pragmatic optimism is perfect for mundane accomplishments. If we add a trine between Mars in Virgo to Pluto into the mix, it will act as a catalyst! Mars is the active element and pushes us to get going. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to make your move, it is now.
We have needed a clear opportunity to make a fresh start and this Libra New Moon can provide it. Starting partnerships, both business and personal, is favored, and Libra’s need to bounce our ideas off of a trusted person is a huge plus. There a good balance between flowing aspects to help matters run smoothly and tense aspects to provide power. Draw down the Moon and get cracking!! May good fortune follow us all.
