Week of November 2, 2015

We have two planets changing signs this week, one at the beginning and the other at the end. Appropriately enough, Mercury slips into Scorpio in the middle of the night and is waiting for us when we get up to go to work Monday morning. On Sunday, November 8, Venus comes home to Libra and turns on the charm.

Venus makes news on Monday too when she conjoins Mars at 23° Virgo. This is the last of three conjunctions Venus and Mars make this year. The first was February 21 in Aries and the second was August 31 in Leo, celebrating love in the fire signs with verve and drama. Now we have these two love birds meeting up in sensual, earthy Virgo, who demonstrates love and affection in tangible ways. Perhaps by cleaning your house, preparing delicious, healthy meals and giving amazing massages. Enjoy!

We may see another less attractive side of Virgo on Tuesday and Thursday when Jupiter in Virgo forms tense aspects with Chiron in Pisces and Uranus in Aries. Between Jupiter’s knack for exaggeration and Virgo’s tendency to make mountains out of molehills, the potential is there to create a great deal of fuss and bother over the smallest mistakes. The opposition to Chiron on Tuesday can be especially painful for those who have personal planets at 17° in Gemini and Sagittarius. Speaking out of turn or spreading gossip are possible sources of dissension. Thursday Jupiter will be inconjunct Uranus in Aries . . . the perfect setup to leaping to all the wrong conclusions and generally behaving with a complete lack of consideration. Ugh.

On hand to help us get over the stress left by the Jupiter aspects is a wonderful sextile between the Scorpio Sun and Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto in Capricorn, late Thursday. The calm, practical detective work this aspect supports will reveal the truth, no matter how harsh it is. On Friday there is a dreamy trine between Mercury in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces which is perfect for finding the right words or actions to sooth our emotional bruises.

The sweetest event this week is Venus arriving in her home sign of Libra on Sunday. Venus adores being in Libra where she can happily surround herself with beauty. Her charming smile lights up a room and she can be depended on to always behave with discretion. We also gain a planet in air once more, restoring a degree of balance in the elements.

The Moon starts the week in boisterous Leo which sets her up for conflicts with both Mercury and the Sun in Scorpio. On Monday she squares Mercury and does the same with the Sun on Tuesday. Lightening up the situation Monday is a trine to Saturn in Sagittarius, with another trine to Uranus in Aries late Tuesday. Looks like an emotional roller coaster ride the first of the week to me. Don’t forget fixed sign standoffs can be very sticky and forgiveness hard to come by.

Following a long void-of-course (from late Tuesday afternoon to late Wednesday afternoon), the Moon walks quietly into Virgo, a much more comfortable place for her during Scorpio season. Thursday favors working on practical matters and should be a generally productive day.

Be careful about taking on too much Friday due to the Moon-Jupiter conjunction in the morning. The Moon conjoins Mars and Venus during the night and very early Saturday morning before moving into Libra early/mid-morning.

This weekend features the socially aware Libra Moon and consequently looks quite good for either planning parties or a quiet dinner for two. Saturday appears to be more promising for happy outcomes than Sunday when the Libra Moon has to contend with Pluto in Capricorn in the morning and an opposition to Uranus in Aries that evening. F.Y.I. We could start to notice a reemergence of cardinal crunch issues whenever the Moon is in a cardinal sign starting this month.

I’d advise working on behaving with kindness and consideration this week. There are folks who are going to be feeling a little ragged around the edges and they will need to be handled with care. Treating all we come into contact with respectfully is a good place to start. It certainly won’t hurt and may actually do considerable good. Earn good karma this week!
