This is countdown to Sagittarius Season week and I know that is going to make plenty of folks out there in internet land very, very happy. We still have a couple of potent reminders of Water’s power this week to navigate before we can play in fire land.
Tuesday Mercury catches up to the Sun at 24° Scorpio and those of us with the Sun, Moon or Ascendant between 23° and 25° Scorpio will find we have more force than usual behind our words. This is an excellent aspect for doing in-depth research of any kind as well as digging into our own inner workings. We do need to factor in the subjective nature of Mercury conjunct the Sun basically the whole week.
The next day Neptune in Pisces stations direct at 7° 01′, marking the end of slack tide. Christina, The Oxford Astrologer, has a great post on this event Astrology of Now: Ready to catch the wave. Don’t be fooled by the apparent lack of visible activity because Neptune has been and is hard at work beneath the surface. Watch for rising bubbles!
Whenever a planet enters Libra these days, it is only a matter of time before they encounter Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries. On Friday Venus in Libra squares Pluto bringing jealousy, possessiveness and money issues to the forefront. Needless to say, I’m going to recommend practicing some serious detachment from the desire for a specific outcome. For one if it isn’t going to happen anyway, obsessing and fussing isn’t going to change a damn thing. For another, all that fuss and bother will probably have a negative impact on our health. Be at peace with whatever happens.
Best news for fire and air folk is Mercury blasting into forthright Sagittarius on Friday. People are going to pip up and say their piece, like it or not. Please don’t expect a great deal of tact and diplomacy either because Sagittarius prides its self on being straightforward and honest. The Sun follows Mercury into Sagittarius on Sunday, and when that happens it feels like the universe breathes a sigh of relief.
The lunar ebb and flow this week clearly illustrates how we are gradually transitioning from water and earth to fire and air. Each time the Moon changes signs, the emphasis shifts too. We move from earth to air to water and end the week in fire.
On Monday, we start off with earth represented by an efficient, productive Capricorn Moon which is a great way to begin any work week. Benign aspects from Jupiter, Mercury and the Sun get us moving. There ought to be enough momentum that we should barely notice the Moon going void-of-course midday.
When we arise Tuesday morning, an airy Aquarius Moon greets us and will bring the elements into balance. Aspects to Mars and Venus in Libra will contribute the ability to be objective while a sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius gently grounds the Aquarius Moon. Monday and Tuesday are the best days for continuing to develop and implement new projects.
During the day Wednesday, the Aquarius Moon runs afoul of Jupiter in Virgo and the Scorpio Sun (the Moon squares Mercury in Scorpio Wednesday night). What looked workable on Tuesday may run into resistance and there is far less interest in being cooperative.
Thursday we dive back under water with the Pisces Moon which gives us a preponderance of planets in water (Scorpio Sun and Mercury, Moon and Neptune in Pisces). All you water and earth folk out there take note, after Thursday the atmosphere starts to dry out and become far less hospitable for you. This change starts on Friday when Mercury blasts into fiery Sagittarius and immediately goes to work heating things up.
Speaking of Friday, the Pisces Moon will do its best to soothe and heal with help from Pluto, Chiron and Jupiter. As long as no one goes out of their way to be all jealous and possessive (Venus in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn), Friday night looks OK for date night.
Bright and early Saturday morning, an Aries Moon adds to the fiery energy that will completely take over by Sunday evening. There is a real go-getter energy gathering speed over the course of the day when the Aries Moon is trine Mercury in Sagittarius early and Saturn in Sagittarius in the evening. Get out your earplugs if necessary because very few will be using their indoor voices.
Sunday the Sun breaks out into Sagittarius first thing and the fire count goes up to five with two planets in air feeding oxygen to the fire. The Aries Moon conjoins Uranus midday and we are all off to the races. Enjoy the rush while it lasts.
The pacing this week could give us whiplash because we’ll be going from near stasis midweek when Neptune stations and fixed Scorpio holds sway, to full speed ahead on the weekend. Take advantage of opportunities to make last minute revisions to plans early in the week so everything is in place for takeoff once Sagittarius Season hits.
Note: Timing is averaged for EDT to PDT.
