Full Moon in Cancer, December 25, 2015

Full Moon

What a Christmas gift for everyone! A Full Moon at 03° 20′ Cancer occurs at 03:12 AM PST on December 25, sweetly trine to Neptune in Pisces encouraging everyone to open their hearts and minds and see humanity as part of their extended family. The Cancer Moon is the universal mother and the Capricorn Sun is everyone’s beloved father figure with Neptune in Pisces linking us all together through love and compassion.

There is another side to this Full Moon that centers on Mercury in pragmatic Capricorn. Mercury is closely aspected by Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Libra, Jupiter in Virgo and Uranus in Aries. Quite a mixed bag! Mercury, Venus and Jupiter create a mini-triangle bringing a message of warmth, generosity and good will. We can expect tangible expressions of love and appreciation as a result of this pattern. What a wonderful blessing for Christmas Day.

On the more verbally combative side are the waxing square between Mercury and Mars in Libra and the waning square between Mercury and Uranus in Aries. Mercury and Mars will be exactly square on December 29 at 27°. Those who have personal planets in the cardinal signs from 26° to 28°, especially in Libra and Cancer, are going to feel the bite from this one. Ugh. We can be thankful the Mercury-Uranus square is rapidly fading away for now. This square has the potential to bring out the dark side at family gatherings over the holidays and there is no one like our nearest and dearest for knowing exactly how to cause us pain and grief.

Uranus in Aries stations direct at 16° 33′ shortly after the Full Moon. As Uranus slowly begins to pick up speed going forward, we may begin to see changes start to emerge once more. This will gradually unfold over the next month or so because like most outer planets, Uranus takes awhile to move on from its station degree. It will be late January 2016 before it does.

The other two major outer planet aspects still having an influence are Saturn in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces. Saturn has pulled far enough ahead of Neptune that it doesn’t aspect the luminaries, something we can be grateful for . . . Saturn can be such a party pooper. And we can’t forget the Uranus-Pluto square is still around agitating trouble. *sigh*

Here’s to a wonderful, celebratory Full Moon in Cancer! Step aside from the dark side and embrace the love it holds for all of us . . . if only for a day. Merry Christmas!
