We can be grateful for the Universe giving us a break this week after the intensity of the last one. We need time to assimilate what we learned and to decide how to set priorities following the Capricorn New Moon. Giving us a hand are a three very nice trines present in the New Moon chart and perfecting over the course of this week.
On Tuesday Venus in Sagittarius is trine Uranus in Aries, aiding our efforts to make positive changes in our personal relationships and our finances. Try something new and take a risk or two! This fiery trine inspires us to reach out for new experiences and simply have some fun. Nice!
At the time of the New Moon, the Capricorn Sun made a waning square to Uranus in Aries and a waxing trine to Jupiter in Virgo. Wednesday the trine to Jupiter perfects and we may begin to see how a positive attitude and outlook combine to give us a fresh start. Earth signs are nothing if not practical and grounded in the real world, something many of us can use help with. If you need to pull your financial affairs into order, this is a great time to get to work on a sensible plan to achieve that goal.
Mercury moved back into Capricorn last week, and on Thursday it will conjoin the Capricorn Sun and perfect a trine to Jupiter in Virgo. If you need to meet with your financial advisor or your accountant to discuss your financial plan for 2016, this is the perfect time to do so. Conversations with family about living within a budget ought to go well too. Most of us hate to talk about money with our aging parents but take it from someone dealing with estate settlement issues, doing something about it while your parents are still alive is far, far better.
The last major aspect this week is a Venus-Jupiter square very late Sunday night. Whenever Venus squares Jupiter, I think of those who ascribe to the “work hard, play hard” school of thought. Have a great time but make sure someone is sober enough to get everyone home safe and sound.
With the exception of Friday and Saturday when the Moon is in fiery Aries, she has an easy time of it this week.
Monday finds the Aquarius Moon is an amiable mood thanks to sextiles to Saturn and Venus in Sagittarius. This is a great time to schedule meetings with friends and like-minded people to promote activities that benefit the community at large. Late afternoon-early evening the Moon goes void-of-course following a sextile to Uranus in Aries . . . an upbeat, forward looking aspect inviting us to explore the unusual and expand our horizons.
It will be Tuesday afternoon before the Moon glides into quiet Pisces. Other than the square to Saturn in Sagittarius Wednesday afternoon bringing reminders we really do need to stay on task, the Pisces Moon happily swims with Mars in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn. Thursday she enjoys hanging out with the Capricorn Sun and Mercury after dancing briefly with Jupiter in Virgo. Mutable Pisces would always rather swim around, over or under obstacles rather than meeting those head on . . . like Aries.
Speaking of Aries, the Moon will shift into the first fire sign Thursday evening and will happily dash about Friday getting us up and moving. It won’t be until Friday night late when the Moon confronts the Uranus-Pluto square, things could go sour. Last week the Moon conjoined Pluto in Capricorn, containing and controlling our emotional reactions. This week the Moon conjoins Uranus, sparking rebellion and encouraging people to let their feelings out. Watch out for road rage and drunken drivers if you need to be on the streets Friday night.
Saturday the Aries Moon squares off with Mercury and the Sun in Capricorn which sounds like a lot of bickering and finger pointing about who broke what rules. Keep it low key if you can and practice non-confrontational techniques whenever possible.
Sunday morning we wake up to the Moon happily ensconced in earthy Taurus. There will be five planets in earth, two in water, three in fire and none in air. I don’t see a whole lot of tolerance for high drama in that mix. Fix plenty of comfort food, make sure everyone has a glass of good wine and relax already. Tomorrow will take care of itself if we do right by everyone today.
When the Universe provides us with a breathing space, it behooves us to use it wisely. We’ve been living with an active sky since around December 24 and plenty of us have been running around putting fires out rather than taking the time to be thorough. Now is a good time to start restoring order on a deeper level. Let’s get to it!
