Mercury figures large this week since it is stationing direct on Monday at 14° Capricorn conjoined Pluto at 15° Capricorn. These two planets will be within a degree all week and partile on Friday, January 29. In fact, they will still be conjoined when Mercury squares Uranus in Aries on Sunday, January 3 . . . though Mercury will quickly begin to pull away from both Uranus and Pluto the first week in February.
Those who give into the urge to stretch the truth in order get their way could end up in deep trouble now because this Mercury-Pluto conjunction excels at seeing through this type of thing. If you want more confirmation on the importance of presenting accurate data, read this quote on the Saturn-Neptune square in Ray Merriman’s weekly post. I completely agree with what he is saying here:
“The one thing about Saturn in its 36-year cycle of a waning square to Neptune that you can depend upon is this: respect for truth and facts will fall a far distant second to the rush to judge, censor, or harm someone’s reputation based upon innuendo, bias, and bigotry. This is the year of witch-hunts, hypocrisy, and collective naiveté. Scapegoats for things gone wrong, rather than personal accountability, will be in vogue. Everyone must strive to get (and deliver) the facts correct and avoid making judgments based on false assumptions and misinformation, or the consequences can be severe. You cannot believe what you see or hear from others. Use your own common sense. This may be hard, but it is not impossible to succeed.”
The other shoe drops Sunday when Mercury makes the final square to Uranus in Aries, leaving turbulence in its wake. Let’s hope those last minute decisions are based on solid, well researched information and not on false assumptions. Check and double check facts please.
The bright spot this week is a very romantic sextile between Venus in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces on Saturday, January 30. This is an excellent aspect for a candlelit dinner for two, perhaps the prelude to a good old fashioned marriage proposal. Neptune provides the atmosphere and Venus the desire to make a formal commitment.
We start the Moon’s travels this week with a void-of-course Leo Moon most of the day Monday. Between Mercury stationing direct and the VOC Moon, getting much more than the basics done might be quite challenging. Thankfully she will move into quiet, practical Virgo Monday evening and Tuesday should be halfway productive. Even though Mercury is still moving very slowly, having it direct takes a great deal of pressure off of the Mercury ruled Virgo Moon.
Wednesday there is little to impede the Virgo Moon’s progress as she bustles about reorganizing the details in our daily lives. Late afternoon she conjoins Jupiter giving us a burst of energy before going void-of-course until first thing Thursday morning.
Libra Moon sails through the day Thursday heading towards an evening aspect with Venus in Capricorn. This Venus gets on well with the Libra Moon because both Libra and Capricorn appreciate good manners and civil behaviors. In fact the Moon-Venus square may insist on everyone behaving with proper decorum.
After a very decent Friday morning, the Libra Moon ends up creating a T-Square with Uranus in Aries and Mercury conjunct Pluto in Capricorn that afternoon. Remember what I said about honesty and accountability above? We need to add fairness to the mix on Friday, though I wouldn’t be surprised to hear people saying “that’s not fair” meaning everything didn’t go their way.
Between an amiable Libra Moon and the very nice Venus-Neptune sextile, most of Saturday is very favorable for love and romance. After a lengthy void-of-course starting late Friday afternoon and ending Saturday evening, the Moon slips into Scorpio’s deep waters for a couple of days.
A quiet day at home looks good on Sunday. Some time alone to get reacquainted with our inner selves works out well when the Moon is in Scorpio. A dreamy trine to Neptune in Pisces and pleasant sextile Venus in Capricorn occurs Sunday afternoon, both are excellent for promoting relaxation. Let’s hope the Mercury-Uranus square doesn’t bring too many interruptions to our otherwise pleasant Sunday!
The bottom line this week is all the major aspects will occur over the coming weekend . . . Mercury merely changes direction on Monday. Otherwise we only have the fleeting aspects the Moon makes as she gracefully crosses the heavens. This is a real boon because we do have a great deal to process after last week and we do need to prepare for the final set of Mercury aspects to Uranus and Pluto.
As Mercury picks up speed this week, it is possible long overdue changes will start falling into place and if we’re not prepared, we won’t be ready for those. Remember Mercury, Uranus and Pluto are all in cardinal signs who are in the business of initiating activity of all kinds. It is go time, people!
