It is a much more active sky as we move into March. Venus in Aquarius follows the path Mercury in Aquarius took last week, aspecting the same planets, and two planets change signs this weekend, Mercury enters Pisces and Mars leaps into fiery Sagittarius.

Venus is the planet of relating, and in Aquarius she focuses on whether or not a mental connection exists. Ordinary bores this Venus yet the sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius on Monday can help her understand how working within a limited palette can be a fascinating challenge. This is an excellent aspect for working on our budgets and doing some financial planning.

The sextile to Uranus in Aries on Wednesday suits Venus in Aquarius much better. Now she has opportunities to explore delicious and unusual ways to express her feelings and generally spark up everyone’s love lives. Unlike Monday’s Venus-Saturn aspect, I wouldn’t recommend spending money because this aspect can lead to impulse buying and who knows what oddities we could come home with.

The latter half of the week features a Yod with Jupiter in Virgo at the apex and the waning Venus-Uranus sextile as the base. Venus is exactly inconjunct Jupiter on Thursday and the Uranus-Jupiter inconjunct is exact on Sunday. Aquarius and Aries are both into living on the edge and take chances just because it sounds like the thing to do in the moment. This can frustrate Jupiter in Virgo no end. Virgo can be talked into pushing the envelope on occasion but it also needs to make sure the first aid kit is complete, there is sufficient food and water, and everyone has the right gear. Take time to plan ahead enough to satisfy Jupiter in Virgo, then still go out and have a good time.

As Mercury prepares to finally leave Aquarius, it squares Mars in Scorpio on Friday. On Saturday first Mercury moves into Pisces, then Mars into Sagittarius. Most of weekend will be ripe for potential flare-ups and some serious head-butting over differing opinions. The big difference between Mercury squaring Mars in fixed signs (Aquarius-Scorpio) and in mutable signs (Pisces-Sagittarius) is the latter is far more open to the idea of agreeing to disagree. This contentious energy will rapidly fade as Mercury pulls away from Mars next week.

Adding to the less than harmonious atmosphere over the weekend is the Pisces Sun squaring Saturn in Sagittarius on Saturday. Saturn’s insistence on keeping things real is not to the Pisces Sun’s liking at all. Rather than resisting Saturn’s demands, go with them because the Sun makes a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday and all will become clear. Hey, there will be plenty of other weekends for playtime because this one is less than ideal for lighthearted activities.

Mutable energy is strong right now with the Sun and Neptune in Pisces as well as Jupiter in Virgo and Saturn in Sagittarius which means the atmosphere is far more fluid than usual. This seems to enhance the ebb and flow of the Moon and its moods as well. We’ll see this at work this week as the Moon travels through the signs between fixed Scorpio and Aquarius.

Most of the day on Monday, we will benefit from a tenacious, pragmatic Scorpio Moon who will conjoin Mars before void-of-course until late afternoon. Once the Moon leaps into exuberant Sagittarius, she will stay there until early Thursday morning.

Tuesday the Moon squares the Pisces Sun and Neptune in Pisces . . . lots of magical thinking with very little basis in fact is the likely result. We get a taste of what the Saturn-Neptune square is going to bring more of in the months ahead on Tuesday and Wednesday because Tuesday night the Moon conjoins Saturn and instant karma could pop up everywhere.

First thing Wednesday morning the Sagittarius Moon will square Jupiter in Virgo and more exaggerations may crop up. Neither Tuesday nor Wednesday is the best day to be making critical decisions in our personal lives or at work. We’re better off waiting until the Moon enters sober Capricorn on Thursday morning.

The sensible Capricorn Moon is in charge Thursday and Friday. Those are the best days this week for catching up on work. There is a slightly tense period Friday morning when this week’s cardinal crunch occurs but any tensions should start to fade by midday. Use this time wisely because the weekend is a completely different kettle of fish!

Changeable is one way to describe the weekend. The Moon arrives in Aquarius first thing Saturday morning and goes her own eccentric way until midday Sunday when she makes an amiable sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius. A late afternoon sextile to Aquarius’s ruler, Uranus in Aries, gives us an opportunity to put everything in perspective. The Aquarius Moon acts as a cool, detached observer to all the other aspects and shifts taking place over the weekend – fixed Mercury-Mars square, Sun square Saturn, Sun sextile Pluto, Mercury arriving in Pisces and Mars in Sagittarius. Remember to breathe!

We start the week with calm waters with the turbulence gradually increasing over the course of the week, ending up with a wild weekend. It is good to be a mutable sign this week with their natural tolerance for riding out change with aplomb. Fixed sign folk are probably not going to find all the flip flopping comfortable and could end up muttering a lot. Lean on your Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces friends for advice and morale support. Good luck!
