Week of March 14, 2016

slack tide

Ready or not, we’re heading into the last week before the equinox and Aries Season! It’s a bit on the muddy side with four planets in Pisces (Sun, Mercury, Venus and Neptune) and two planets in earth (Jupiter and Pluto). Mars, Uranus and Saturn in the fire signs are providing some warmth and enthusiasm while the Moon does what the Moon does best . . . wanders along adding support to each element over the course of the week.

The center piece this week is an exact trine between Jupiter in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn at 17°. You lucky folks who have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 16° to 18° in Taurus have a Grand Trine in earth working on your behalf all week long. Pluto in Cappy can unearth all sorts of information, often facts some would rather remain hidden. Jupiter in Virgo then takes that information, organizes it and makes sure everyone has a chance to see it. This team can make or break a business . . . it all depends on how well the basic foundation was laid. Those who are in the process of laying the groundwork for projects dedicated to helping others can draw on this energy to get it right the first time. This is an excellent time to do research for investing too.

Once Saturn in Sagittarius jolts Mercury in Pisces out of its dream state on Monday, there is a much better chance Mercury will pay more attention to what Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Virgo have to share. Mercury will be sextile Pluto late Monday and opposes Jupiter early Tuesday morning. Mercury in Pisces has an amazing ability to take seemingly disparate bits of data and extract vital information. Stay alert to the data flow running through your mind early this week. On Thursday Mercury will conjoin Chiron and if we’re willing to risk some pain, it will help us dig around in our vulnerabilities in order to initiate the healing process.

Whenever Venus and Mars are at odds like they are on Monday, mixed signals or simply bad timing may create problems in our love lives. Mars in Sagittarius is not exactly tactful and that may offend Venus in Pisces’s delicate sensibilities. It may take most of the week to mend fences plus the Venus-Neptune conjunction next Sunday but it looks like an “all’s well that ends well” situation.

The weekend brings us Aries Season and a nice rush of fiery energy. The Aries Sun is greeted by a fiery Leo Moon and an energizing trine from Mars in Sagittarius. The shift from Pisces to Aries is one of those times when we are ready to rush out the door without looking back. By the end of Pisces Season we’ve usually had enough introspection to last us for quite some time. The Sun enters Aries late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, March 19 or 20, depending on where you live. It’s ready, set, go time!

We start the week with a mutable Gemini Moon and end it with the Moon in mutable Virgo with visits to Cancer and Leo in between.

Monday and Tuesday already have plenty of Mercury aspects and it is to our benefit to have the Moon in Gemini who can switch mental gears on the fly. Conversations can jump all over the place depending on the situation and probably will. Fortunately Gemini is open-minded and has a whimsical sense of humor. Brace yourself for frequently changes of topic in mid-sentence.

Late Tuesday the Moon slips into Cancer adding more water to the atmosphere. People could end up crying tears of joy as well as sorrow. Wednesday the Cancer Moon is trine both Venus and Neptune in Pisces . . . keeping a box of tissues handy is a good plan! Water signs understand the release and healing tears can bring.

Very early Thursday morning is the weekly cardinal crunch when the Cancer Moon opposes Pluto and squares Uranus. As long as only Moon is involved any turmoil created seems to flare up and die down very quickly. Most of the day looks favorable for handling family discussions with the minimum of upsets.

A lively Leo Moon greets us Friday morning with a trine to Mars in Sagittarius which bodes well for finishing off the work week in good form. Going out to party with friends on Friday evening may get a bit odd at times due to the Leo Moon inconjunct Venus and Neptune in Pisces. Make sure you know as much as possible about the interesting person you’re thinking of hooking up with . . . the glamorous exterior could be very misleading.

A Grand Trine in fire forms up Saturday with the Leo Moon, Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries, paving the way for the Sun’s arrival in Aries. The jovial atmosphere is wonderful for spontaneous gatherings or an evening out with your sweetheart. Enjoy!

Sunday the Moon shifts into Virgo in time to clean up after Saturday’s parties. The Leo Moon went void-of-course midday Saturday and arrives in Virgo midday Sunday, giving everyone plenty of time to play. Be sure to get your chores out of the way before Sunday evening because a Moon-Mars square will ensure you’ll hear about it if you don’t.

Finishing up old business is a strong theme this last week of Pisces Season, and examining how we feel about saying goodbye to someone or something is part of this. Planets in water and earth dominate the sky right up to the weekend and that means emotions are going to be close to the surface. Being sensitive to non-verbal cues and other people’s feelings are a necessary ingredient this week. Once the Sun enters Aries on the weekend, the shift to fire begins and taking action will be favored. Change is coming!
