Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra, March 23, 2016

We are going to get plenty of reminders we’re now in cardinal sign territory on this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 03° 17′ Libra on 23 March 2016, 05:01 AM PDT. Even Libra’s talent for tact may be pushed to its limits with Mars in forthright Sagittarius sextile the Libra Moon and trine the Aries Sun-Mercury conjunction. It is natural for Aries to fearlessly express what Pisces spent hours contemplating, and since this is the second eclipse of two, we’ll notice this tendency even more. People who have been sitting on their opinions will probably let fly now.

Mercury is so close to the Aries Sun there is little separation between thought and action. Since Mars, Aries’s ruler, is trine this conjunction it will strengthen this connection and add to the overall impetuousness. The upside to this concentration of Mars power is it can enable normally reticent types to speak their piece. Of course, fire folk are going to be cheerfully sharing their opinions right and left! If you feel in need of assertiveness training, this is an ideal time for it.

Other people’s opinions matter and because this is a Full Moon in Libra, the sign of one-on-one relationships, we do need to listen carefully and respectfully to what our partners have to say. The Libra Moon-Mars sextile is there to encourage us to put how we feel out there and be firm about it. Now is a good time to present both sides of an issue before opening it up to discussion. Practice active listening, and avoid using the time the other person is speaking to marshal your arguments.

Just so you know we will be revisiting situations and concerns that surfaced during the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces. Saturn is still the apex of a mutable T-Square with Jupiter in Virgo opposing Venus conjunct Neptune in Pisces . . . instead of the luminaries. This time around we may be getting lessons in instant karma about what we value. We may find out the person we thought was so supportive and kind is anything but. The Jupiter-Pluto trine is still a factor and what is revealed now, however painful, ought to prove very beneficial in the long run.

Saturn in Sagittarius can lean towards being righteous and judgmental, but at its best it can help provide necessary guidelines in order to work out solutions in everyone’s best interest. The Saturn-Uranus trine is still active and Uranus in Aries is about the best for coming up with new ways to look at old problems.

Whatever is going on in our lives, this Full Moon in Libra is all about making decisions and moving forward with our plans. Fire and air are in ascendance on this lunation and we’re officially in Aries Season. We had plenty of time for contemplation and to do our homework. If we didn’t, then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Aries and Libra both understand the importance of taking charge of our lives and our decisions . . . they are cardinal signs after all. It’s go time!

Note: Timing is averaged for EDT to PDT.
