Week of April 11, 2016

Green Spring Hills

Aries Season is normally all rushing around being busy, busy but this week we may find ourselves yawning and looking for a place to nap. Why? Because Aries’s ruler, Mars, is practically stalled out as he prepares to station retrograde this weekend at 8° 36′ Sagittarius, widely square Neptune in Pisces. The square to Neptune adds an extra measure of lethargy to the situation. Rather than fighting this trend, use the time to relax and maybe take a personal day here and there.

If we need help communicating slowly and clearly, Mercury in Taurus is ready to give us a hand. On Tuesday Mercury is sextile Neptune in Pisces, a wonderful aspect for writers and poets. As long as we relax and calm our minds, the right words will float to the surface. If we need to make peace with someone or engage in negotiations, the combination of Taurus practicality and Pisces empathy ought to be very helpful.

Later in the week Mercury in Taurus will be trine Jupiter in Virgo on Thursday and Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday. These are excellent for dealing with money matters, especially related to real property. If you need to sit down with your financial advisor or meet with your CPA regarding taxes, Thursday or Friday are both good days to do so. An inconjunct between Mercury in Taurus and Saturn in Sagittarius late Friday suggests erring on the side of caution when considering an investment opportunity.

Our love lives get a nice big kiss this week when Venus in Aries is trine Mars in Sagittarius on Tuesday! Those lucky folks who have personal planets in Aries, Leo and/or Sagittarius between 7° and 9° are most likely to see the greatest benefit from this one. Venus in Aries has a less pleasant meet up with Jupiter in Virgo on Saturday. Those two tend to overdo the good times and people can end up squabbling due to exhaustion.

The Gemini Moon helps get our mental gears engaged on Monday since she is happily inspired by sextiles to Uranus and the Sun in Aries. Use your time Monday morning to multi-task and play catch up. Once the Moon goes void-of-course midday, the pace will slow some and we may need to pay more attention as to how we phrase requests to avoid stepping on other people’s feelings.

Speaking of feelings, the Moon comes home to Cancer during the night and we wake up to a sensitive Cancer Moon on Tuesday. She makes no aspects until late afternoon when she squares Venus in Aries before going on to far better aspects to Neptune in Pisces and Mercury in Taurus. Please consider apologizing nicely for any missteps with your sweetheart. This is an “all’s well that ends well” sort of day.

Wednesday is another kettle of fish. We will be dealing with a crabby Cancer Moon most of the day because she opposes Pluto, squares Uranus and finally squares the Aries Sun that evening. Good day to practice tact and kindness, especially with family. And that’s always a challenge because it seems like no one is better at pushing our buttons than those closest to us. Something to keep in mind is these are fleeting lunar aspects that stir things up for an hour or two before dying away.

We’ll greet an upbeat Leo Moon on Thursday with open arms as will Mars in Sagittarius that evening. For most of the day the fiery Leo Moon will cheerfully bop along by herself, spreading goodwill and optimism. Friday brings more of the same with happy trines to Venus in Aries first thing, Saturn in Sagittarius midday and Uranus in Aries that night. A midday square to Mercury in Taurus is the only real road block, and any resultant unpleasantness will probably be due a case of fixed sign insistence that they are right. Mostly likely scenario is the Leo Moon shrugging it off and moving on.

Plan playtime activities during the day Saturday when a Leo Moon-Aries Sun trine is in charge. When evening rolls around and the Virgo Moon arrives on the scene, most folks will be more than ready to call it a day and pack up to head home.

Sunday the Virgo Moon squares a stationary Mars in Sagittarius midday before going on to oppose Neptune in Pisces and conjoin Jupiter in Virgo that evening. The potential for mixed messages and an overall feeling of lethargy make staying home and puttering around the house a better plan. [F.Y.I. The loose mutable T-Square created by the Virgo Moon, Mars in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces is a preview of things to come this summer when Saturn in Sagittarius will create a T-Square with Jupiter and Neptune.] Those who played too hard Saturday might decide to make Sunday a day of rest . . . a good idea since the following week has Venus in Aries mixing it up with Saturn, Pluto and Uranus. 😀

All in all this week has a nice flow to it . . . as long as we listen patiently, don’t give into the urge to embellish or push our ideas too hard. Timing is everything and allowing a little extra time to get where we need to go ought to be part of the plan with Mars stationing. Mercury in Taurus being featured this week is a strong hint of things to come after the Sun enters Taurus next week on April 19. Yes, this is the last week of Aries Season, so all you fire folk soak up the heat while you can.

Note: Timing is averaged for EDT to PDT.
