The Taurus influence deepens this week with Mercury in Taurus slowing to station retrograde on Thursday, April 28, and Venus leaving impulsive Aries for one of her home signs, Taurus, on Friday, April 29. What does this mean? For one thing sticking with a routine is important. Taurus thrives when their lives revolve around a consistent routine. Taco Tuesday was probably started by a Taurus who considers it a near sacred ritual to enjoy the same comfort food at least once a week!
Overall the skies are quiet this week with only a couple of aspects to the Taurus Sun. The inconjunct to Mars in Sagittarius on Wednesday may be an eye opener for those who think a fire sign style temper tantrum will get the Bull to move an inch. Fat chance! A much sweeter aspect is a blissful sextile between the Taurus Sun and Neptune in Pisces on Sunday . . . perfect for artists and lovers turning dreams into delightful reality.
I know I sound like a broken record but the only sane way to handle Mercury in Taurus stationing retrograde is to SLOW DOWN. It might take a little longer to get where we’re going but we’ll get there eventually. Unlike last year’s Mercury retrogrades that featured Mercury in the air signs that directly affected our mental processes, this year’s Mercury retrogrades are all in earth. Get it in writing. Make sure all important documents are signed, dated and if necessary, notarized. We need tangible documentation and if you’re planning on traveling out of the country, double check to make sure your passport is up to date, etc. Anyone who is considering buying a home or real property of any kind needs to have it carefully inspected. Verify the realtor knows what they’re doing too. The same goes when applying for a loan. Make sure you are working with a reputable professional who can guide you through the process and tells you exactly what you will need.
Venus moving into Taurus is wonderful news. She loves being in sensual, earthy Taurus and happily spreads her delight in being there all around. This is an excellent time to think about redecorating a room or two in your home, planting flowers or bringing fresh flowers home from the local market to add color and fragrance to your personal environment. If you’re buying new clothes you may find how they feel to the touch is as important as how they look. Enjoy the simple pleasures of good food shared with loved ones.
Monday and Tuesday the Moon is in outgoing Sagittarius with Monday being the more challenging day. The Moon completes a mutable T-Square with Jupiter in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces as the base; just about guaranteeing confusion will reign during the morning. It will take a conjunction with Saturn in Sagittarius that afternoon to sort things out. Tuesday the Moon will be void-of-course most of the day following an upbeat trine to Venus in Aries. While the mood will be lighter, it will still be a good idea to stick with routine plans rather than jumping into something new.
Wednesday is probably the best day this week to get down to business with the sensible Capricorn Moon starting the day trine the Taurus Sun and ending it trine Jupiter in Virgo. An afternoon sextile to Neptune in Pisces soothes the Cappy Moon and generally adds to the benign tone of the day. A preponderance of earth keeps us firmly grounded in the real world.
Thursday is a much more fraught with Mercury stationing retrograde and the Capricorn Moon squaring Uranus in Aries in the morning. By that afternoon a trine between Mercury in Taurus and the Moon will help us adjust emotionally to newly retrograde Mercury. The Moon will go void-of-course following a square to Venus in Aries during the night shortly before entering Aquarius.
We wake up Friday to an Aquarius Moon, adding a pinch of much needed air to the sky. She won’t make any aspects until a late day sextile to Mars in Sagittarius giving us an opportunity to reassess our situations and find those places where we need to apply objectivity to make progress.
The weekend looks promising for spending time with friends and like-minded people. Saturday is especially favorable with the Aquarius Moon sextile both Saturn in Sagittarius early in the day and Uranus in Aries that afternoon for working on community projects. Some grumpiness enters the picture that evening when the Aquarius Moon squares Mercury in Taurus . . . people are going to stand by their opinions to the bitter end.
Sunday looks equally nice but with a quite different feel to it under the Pisces Moon and that Sun-Neptune sextile. A mid-day sextile between Venus in Taurus and the Pisces Moon adds to the quietly dreamy atmosphere. For those who feel a deep, spiritual connection with the natural world this is the perfect day to spend outdoors, surrounded by nature. Carry the good feelings of earlier in the day into the evening rather than allowing a Moon-Mars square to create tension.
The kindest thing we can do for ourselves this week is stay focused in the here and now. By the end of the week we’ll have three planets in Taurus, giving us the perfect opportunity to become attuned to the natural world and its cycles. So many people live apart from Nature, going from one air conditioned environment to another over the course of the day. Instead of heading to the gym to jump on a treadmill to exercise, go a park, the beach or head out into the countryside to walk, run or simply breathe. Taurus can teach us a great deal about pacing ourselves if we’re willing to listen and learn.
