This is the second Full Moon in Sagittarius and it puts the lunar cycle back in its natural order once more. The first Full Moon in Sagittarius was on May 21 at 01° Sagittarius and this Full Moon is at 29° 33′ Sagittarius on 20 June 2016 at 04:02 AM PDT. Like it or not, this one is for tying up loose ends in our lives in order to move forward with a clean slate. Anaretic degree lunations, no matter whether New or Full, always have a Balsamic Phase feel to them.
The Gemini Sun is still traveling with Venus though she is now in Cancer. Nonetheless any Venus-Sun conjunction is a blessing. Both luminaries make harmonious aspects to Uranus in Aries, providing inspiration and a peek into the future. Even though we still have to grind through more housecleaning, we can finally get a sense of the path forward. The main obstacle is retrograde Mars in Scorpio, now at its station degree of 23° Scorpio and preparing to do direct on June 29.
Speaking of Mars, he is tightly inconjunct Uranus in Aries, and as I mentioned in my weekly post, this aspect could leave a world of hurt in its wake. Uranus in Aries is undoubtedly brilliant and inspires us to reach for lofty goals. However it is the cold, hard brilliance of a diamond that has no compassion what so ever. The aspects to the luminaries may soften this effect some but not much. Aries is very goal oriented, and once in motion seldom considers those who might be trampled on the way. Needless to say, I believe this to be very unwise because once Mars in Scorpio goes direct, those who listened to Uranus’s siren call and acted as if only what they wanted was important are going to end up on the receiving end of a Scorpio style revenge. Exercise compassion and thoughtfulness towards all to avoid this result.
Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, is now in Gemini and totally in trouble because it has Saturn in Sagittarius opposing it and Neptune in Pisces squaring it. This is a major mutable T-Square and poor Mercury is bound to be the loser here caught up with two heavy duty outer planets. It won’t be easy to know what the truth is at this time but eventually (Saturn) all the facts (Mercury) are going to emerge from the Neptune fog bank. Mercury rapidly pulls free of the Saturn-Neptune square after this lunation and starts to add up the facts quickly as only Mercury in Gemini can. Be very wary on this Full Moon and put off making major decisions if at all possible.
Yes, there is a great aspect at work now and that is the final trine between Jupiter in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn. It will be exact at 16° on June 26. This trine combines the best of both planets bringing Jupiter in Virgo’s optimistic attitude and careful attention to detail in line with Pluto in Capricorn’s deep insights and wonderful organizational abilities. If you have important projects in the works, draw on this energy to keep them moving ahead smoothly. Naturally taking a common sense approach and emphasizing the practicalities is the way to go.
This intense Full Moon in Sagittarius can be an exciting, adventurous time for many of us, despite the confusion and potential for cognitive dissonance. If we choose to infuse our interactions with compassion and respect, we can learn a great deal about ourselves and our loved ones. Practice patience, tolerance and kindness. Thank you.
