We’re moving deeper under water this week and much of the action taking place will be powerful yet largely unseen. If you have ever observed a large river, it often looks fairly calm on the surface with the powerful currents moving beneath it. Even though Mars in Scorpio stations direct on Wednesday, something I’m personally thrilled to see happen, it might lighten the atmosphere some but the real action won’t start happening right away.
Mercury leaves extroverted Gemini for introverted Cancer on Wednesday and I’d like to encourage people to brush up on their non-verbal communications skills. Those require paying much closer attention to the person you’re talking to, and the need to be in face to face settings. Texting is the bane of non-verbal communication because it is impossible to read someone’s body language during the conversation. In other words, you may be lied to over and over and over. Think about it.
Something interesting going on this week involves the Sun and Venus in Cancer. They will both trigger the two major aspects at work now: Saturn in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn.
Venus will be trine Neptune on Monday bestowing kisses on lovers everywhere, even though the evening before she was subject to Saturn in Sagittarius’s disapproving looks. On Thursday she will oppose Pluto in Capricorn. Any time Venus is in aspect to Pluto, control issues are bound to come up and often those involve money. With careful negotiation, those may finally be worked with a little help from Venus’s sextile to Jupiter in Virgo on Friday.
On the weekend, the Cancer Sun will take its turn triggering the Saturn-Neptune square with an inconjunct to Saturn on Saturday, followed by a trine to Neptune on Sunday. I suspect these themes will be played out along familiar family dynamics with the usual suspects passing judgment based on personal prejudices only to be reminded by others compassion is needed, not the axe. Cancer can be touchy and protective of their family but they have a deep capacity to love and nurture. It wouldn’t hurt us to expand our concept of family to include more than our blood relations.
An Aries Moon blasts on the scene Monday and it would appear she is not in the mood to be patient. A mid-morning square the Cancer Sun puts her on edge and it won’t be until the evening before Saturn in fiery Sagittarius shows up to steady her nerves. This does get the week off to a dynamic start!
Early Tuesday morning the Aries Moon squares Pluto but she won’t conjoin Uranus until late afternoon/early evening. Much of day she may feel grouchy without knowing why too. Haul out your patience and do your best to treat others with kindness and respect. Remember Aries’s ruler, Mars, is at a virtual standstill now and that adds to the frustrations of the Aries Moon. Next time the Moon is in Aries, she should be back to her normal energetic self.
Following a sextile to Mercury in Gemini in the middle of the night, the Moon will go void-of-course until first thing Wednesday morning when she happily enters patient Taurus. The Taurus Moon will amble along making no aspects until Wednesday evening when she will be sextile the Cancer Sun. This is the day Mars stations direct so having an extra heaping of Taurus Moon patience will be very welcome.
If you have business to take care of, Thursday is a good day to do so with the Taurus Moon completing a Grand Trine in earth with Jupiter in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn. Take care of basics like working in the yard, around the home or the essentials at work. It is also a good day to discuss practical financial matters too. The Taurus Moon will go void-of-course after an opposition to Mars in Scorpio late afternoon/early evening.
We get our breath of air on Friday when the Moon enters Gemini early in the morning and then travels merrily along making no aspects until late Friday night when she will oppose Saturn in Sagittarius. Friday looks good for meeting with others for both business and pleasure.
Saturday is the better day this weekend for planning get-togethers with friends and family. The Gemini Moon squares Jupiter in Virgo that morning which might result in over-scheduling or spending too much time chatting when we need to be doing other things. The day ends with a lively sextile between the Gemini Moon and Uranus in Aries before going void-of-course until early Sunday morning. Between the Sun-Neptune trine and the Cancer Moon making no aspects until Sunday night, Sunday looks like a very good day to spend time at home, puttering around doing personal chores or simply hanging out with favorite family members.
With Mars stationing on Wednesday, I’d like to give a special head’s up to those with their Sun, Moon or Rising in Aries and Scorpio because they are going to be the most sensitive to this event. It has not been an easy Mars retrograde for those folks. It’s very possible they will feel the subtle shift when Mars shifts forward again despite the fact it will remain at 23° until July 11 or so. Since I’m in this group I very much hope this is the case.
This is the week when we really sink into the water world with three planets in Cancer – the Sun, Mercury and Venus. Plus we have Mars in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces in water signs supported by Jupiter and Pluto in earth signs. That leaves Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries as the only ones not in earth and water except the weekly visit by the Moon to a fire and air sign. Air and fire sign folk may find they need to reconsider their usual approach to accommodate the more sensitive atmosphere. May I suggest making a concerted effort to consistently practice kindness and tolerance? It will pay off in the long run. 🙂
