This Full Moon at 27° 40′ Capricorn on 19 July 2016, 03:58 PM PDT is intense. The luminaries form a confrontational Cardinal T-Square with Uranus in Aries, and at the same time harmonize beautifully with Mars in Scorpio. We have been seeing this combination of bitter and sweet all in the same package happen frequently lately. The problem is it is the perfect setup for throwing us into a state of cognitive dissonance where our minds go into shock attempting to process conflicting input.
This is unadulterated Uranus in Aries in action with nothing holding it back from leaving chaos in its wake due to abrupt changes in course. The Cancer-Capricorn axis revolves around family and career. I’m sure there are many people out there who have experienced being uprooted and moved to a new place because of a better job offer. A new baby is another example of a profoundly life changing experience even when welcomed with open arms. What we will need most is patience, and when Uranus is in full cry that is hard to come by. Please do your best anyway.
Believe me when I say having powerful Mars in Scorpio trine the Cancer Sun and sextile the Capricorn Moon is a true blessing. We can draw on Mars to help keep us in one piece us as we push through the unique challenges Uranus lands us in. Due to the fact the Mars-Uranus inconjunct is waning and Mars is on his way out of Scorpio, what comes to an end around this Full Moon will be final. For better or worse, opportunities for “do overs” are not likely to be found.
Mercury and Venus are still dancing along together in Leo, spreading cheer and good will. However they come up against the other major aspect at work now, Saturn in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces. On one hand Venus and Mercury will be trine Saturn, who will probably keep us from making budget breaking purchases. Leo does love looking good, and can drop a bundle on high end clothes, makeup and having the Leo mane tended to. On the other hand, Neptune in Pisces is inconjunct those two and is all too ready to lead us into temptation. Neptune excels at putting together a glamorous appearance and Leo is a sucker for that sort of thing. In other words, please decide how much you can afford to spend BEFORE you go out the door and stick to the budgeted amount.
Jupiter in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn seem to be out of the loop this time. They are still widely trine but their influence is fading now. Jupiter is almost to the last decan of Virgo and will arrive in Libra on September 9. Any time Pluto sits out a lunation on the sidelines is fine with me. Anyone who has Pluto grinding away at a natal planet by transit knows what I mean.
How we fare on this Full Moon in Capricorn may have plenty to do with our attitude and focus. Cardinal lunations are all about taking action and my sense is this one has more to do with endings than beginnings. We may have to consciously choose to let go of the past, painful as that can be, in order to prepare the way for something new and better to come into our lives. This is a good time to let go of situations and attitudes that may be keeping us from achieving (good Capricorn term) our full potential. Peace to all.
