This looks like an “in your face” New Moon Solar Eclipse at 09° 21′ Virgo on 1 September 2016, 02:04 AM PDT. The mutable T-Square with the Virgo Sun-Moon opposing Neptune in Pisces and Saturn widely conjunct Mars in Sagittarius squaring both is a doozy. There is not a lot of give to this New Moon and I guess we’ll find out whether or not we’ve been good or bad . . . Saturn isn’t referred to as the Lord of Karma for nothing.
For me the key to understanding this New Moon revolves around the Virgo-Pisces axis where we learn how we may be of service to others. Virgo and Pisces both are the type of people who genuinely mean it when they ask “how may I help you?” If we are presented with opportunities to offer real assistance at this time, please take them because one can never have too much good karma. Mature behaviors will be rewarded now.
I don’t tend to see Saturn as one of the bad guys. Yes, he asks that we work hard and uphold our responsibilities but there is no malice involved. Sitting at the apex of the mutable T-Square, Saturn in Sagittarius does come across on the harsh side when he points out those areas in our lives where we need to step up and do our part. Setting healthy boundaries is a very good thing for us personally (Sun and Moon in Virgo) and for navigating Neptune’s formless yearnings for something, we’re just not sure what. Sagittarius at its best is honest, forthright and the first to take potshots at society’s sacred cows. If we can focus on those qualities in Saturn in Sagittarius rather the judgmental, self-righteous side, this T-Square can teach us valuable lessons. Be fearless, kind and honest!
The conjunction between Mars and Saturn in Sagittarius is now waning with Mars rapidly moving out of orb. The closest aspect Mars makes on this lunation is a semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. Sagittarius is not comfortable with Capricorn’s tendency to take charge and give orders but there is no denying Capricorn’s organizational abilities. Give your boss the benefit of the doubt and follow his orders even if you feel those are too restrictive. You might be pleasantly surprised in the end.
The one bright spot in this chart is Mercury tightly conjunct Jupiter in Virgo and both conjoining Venus in Libra. Mercury and Venus are both in signs they rule and Jupiter excels at looking at the bright side. Venus in airy Libra aids the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction by gently asking them to listen to both sides and be fair. If you are involved in a dispute, please listen to all parties and take your time carefully going over all the information. Retrograde Mercury in Virgo is THE best at not missing even the smallest detail. We’ll need every bit of patience we can muster because Uranus in Aries is inconjunct these three and demanding instant answers. Smile and politely agree, then go about your business . . . Venus in Libra can help with this.
What we learn during this New Moon in Virgo may be uncomfortable and difficult to come to terms with. However if we are willing to do our due diligence, we can move forward with clarity and a renewed sense of purpose. Virgo has a strong association with healing and knows it is a process that can take time. We can use the natural momentum of this hardworking Virgo New Moon to get ourselves started on the road to a healthier place. Let’s get going!
