This week starts off on a quiet note, a nice change from the wild energy last week. The main events this week include the final square between Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces on Saturday, and Jupiter making his entrance into Libra on Friday.
In many respects the final exact square between Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces will be anticlimactic. After having been subjected to this square being repeatedly triggered since May with the most recent instance last week when the Virgo Sun did the job, we should have become well acquainted with how it affects us. The square will still be within orb this month and we’ll still have the days when the Moon is in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) once a week triggering the fading square. It will be interesting to see how the new shape of our reality emerges over the next month.
Personally I’m very pleased with the idea of Jupiter spending the next year in Libra! Jupiter has not been comfortable in detail oriented Virgo, since his natural inclination is to see the big picture. Libra’s need to see justice done and all parties given a fair hearing is something Jupiter can get behind. Jupiter in Libra may finally get people to begin the process of negotiating a decent compromise for a change.
Other aspects at work this week include a harmonious trine in earth between the Virgo Sun and Pluto in Capricorn on Tuesday, wonderful for helping us survive coming back to work after a three day weekend (here in the USA). This is a great aspect for pouring over detailed paperwork and signing important contracts.
Venus in Libra feels some love from Saturn in Sagittarius while simultaneously running into Neptune in Pisces’s fog bank on Wednesday. In this instance, it makes more sense to choose the responsible option, even if it’s no fun. Fun with Neptune in the room can end up rather messy when the fuzziness wears off. A less pleasant aspect for Venus is the square to Pluto in Capricorn on Saturday night. We may be asked to fulfill social obligations under acute pressure from controlling individuals. It might be time to practice saying “no” politely but firmly.
We have to deal with the second of three times Mercury in Virgo will be inconjunct Uranus in Aries while opposing Chiron in Pisces on Friday. Rash behaviors may result in hurt feelings, so please take that into account before speaking out of turn.
Monday the Moon is in powerful, reserved Scorpio and makes no aspects until early Tuesday morning when she is trine Neptune in Pisces. This is wonderful for working quietly alone on projects that require concentration. Our need to interact with other people can be quite low.
Tuesday looks excellent for getting to work with the Scorpio Moon sextile the Virgo Sun and Pluto in Capricorn midday. This combination is great for reviewing detailed projects and taking a pragmatic, practical approach to problem solving.
There may be a few distractions Wednesday morning but once we get past those, we have one more day to whittle away at our “to do” list with focus and dispatch. The Scorpio Moon will be sextile Mercury in Virgo in the morning and Jupiter in Virgo late afternoon before going void-of-course briefly. The Moon shifts into fiery Sagittarius during the evening.
It will be mid-afternoon before the Sagittarius Moon catches up with Saturn and squares Neptune in Pisces. Needless to say, it will be easier to concentrate the first half of the day. The evening is fine thanks to a sextile to Venus in Libra but be aware of doing things like driving while texting during the late afternoon may not end well, OK?
Friday finds the Sagittarius Moon in a better mood in part because Sagittarius’s ruler, Jupiter, will have arrived in Libra. Libra and Sagittarius get on much better than Virgo and Sagittarius. The Moon conjoins Mars in Sagittarius first thing Friday morning giving us a nice energy lift when we need it. Tempers may flare in the late afternoon when the Moon squares Mercury in Virgo but she will revive when Uranus in Aries shows up about a half hour later. This evening hold the most promise for having a good time because for the rest of the weekend the Capricorn Moon holds sway. Have fun while you can!
The Moon arrives in solemn Capricorn bright and early Saturday morning and immediately squares Jupiter in Libra. It looks very much like duty calls and we could find ourselves answering like it or not.
This spirit of practicality invades Sunday too with a Moon-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn during the morning. We may grumble some midday when the Moon squares Venus in Libra but following through on our responsibilities will leave us feeling quite virtuous by the evening when the Capricorn Moon is trine the Virgo Sun. We may not get much play time in this weekend but we should still get plenty accomplished.
Jupiter will be at 29° Virgo all week and this will encourage us to work hard to complete tasks started earlier this year. The overall tone this week is work oriented rather than playful. It feels like summer vacation really is over and it’s time to get ready for winter. The equinox is not far off now and here in the northern hemisphere there are hints autumn is coming.
