Protected Waters

There is plenty happening this first week of Pisces Season! Mercury in Aquarius is on a roll as it heads towards Pisces Saturday. Mars in Aries is being a major pain this week, and then we have the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces on Sunday.

I’m going to start with a look at the favorable aspects Mercury makes on its way to Pisces on Saturday because being able to find perspective will make all the difference in how we’re able to handle what Mars is going to throw at us.

Monday Mercury in Aquarius will be sextile Uranus in Aries, great for sparking our ability to come up with brilliant solutions. The natural affinity between any planet in Aquarius and its ruler, Uranus, is evident at this time. The only serious drawback that I see is those solutions may not take the human frailty factor into account. The answer is to consciously apply liberal doses of compassion and empathy.

Tuesday we are blessed with a trine between Mercury and Jupiter in Libra. This aspect brings Jupiter in Libra’s strong sense of equity into play as well as a desire to see all parties receive a fair shake. We ought to be able to make good judgment calls under this influence.

The last great aspect for Mercury in Aquarius is a sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius. Here again we have an opportunity to exercise restraint and choose to think things through before making a final decision. All of these Mercury aspects favor a cool, rational decision making process. Once Mercury glides into Pisces on Saturday, it becomes less verbal and far more intuitive in its approach to problem solving.

Now Mars in Aries is totally going to stir the pot this week because he is square to Pluto in Capricorn on Wednesday and conjoins Uranus in Aries on Sunday. Please think carefully before making any moves because this is one of those times when rash, reckless behaviors could land us in serious trouble. Choose to channel this red hot energy into constructive projects or hard, physical activity to burn it off. Wednesday is the most volatile day because the Moon is in Capricorn and emotions may be running high too. By Sunday, both the Sun and Mercury will be in Pisces dampening the atmosphere and hopefully keeping tempers more in check.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces asks us to connect to our inner sense of direction to help us with the explosive Mars-Uranus conjunction in Aries opposing Jupiter in Libra. Fire and water dominate the New Moon chart, and that creates plenty of steam . . . watch out you don’t get burnt.

The Moon’s journey this week goes fairly smoothly with the exception of Wednesday when she runs into rough waters. Over the course of the week she sails from mutable Sagittarius to mutable Pisces, ending with the New Moon Solar Eclipse.

The Sagittarius Moon gets the week off to an easy, breezy start with comfortable aspects to Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra during Monday morning. It will be late afternoon when she conjoins Saturn and goes void-of-course until the middle of the night. For some of us here in the USA, Monday is a holiday but even if you have to work the pace should move along nicely.

An early morning sextile between the Capricorn Moon and the Sun in Pisces sets a pleasant but productive tone for the day Tuesday. Since the Moon makes no more aspects until late evening, we can make the most of this very businesslike lunar influence. In fact, the more you can get done on Tuesday the better because the atmosphere heats up on Wednesday.

The unassuming Capricorn Moon gets caught up with Mars in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn Wednesday as well as squaring the ongoing opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries. There may be plenty of “you’re not the boss of me” going around and those in charge are not likely to react well at all. For those who don’t enjoy fierce disagreements, my suggestion is to keep a low profile and mind our own business. The Capricorn Moon will go void-of-course following the evening square to Jupiter in Libra, gradually bringing calm once more.

Relief comes on Thursday after the void-of-course Capricorn Moon enters detached Aquarius during the morning. She will travel free of aspects until Friday morning, giving us plenty of time to step back from the emotional turmoil and find our footing again. Mercury in Aquarius will be sextile Saturn in Sagittarius Thursday, bringing clarity to our thinking again.

Friday morning the Aquarius Moon is cheerfully sextile Venus in Aries, brightening the day with a lightly flirtatious tone. She won’t be sextile Mars in Aries until around midnight Friday. This ends the work week on a positive note and the evening looks good for getting together with like-minded people in support of favorite causes.

The genial, open minded feeling continues on Saturday with the Aquarius Moon trine Jupiter in Libra before dawn. She will be sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius midday before going void-of-course until late afternoon/early evening, and then she will slip into soothing Pisces. Shortly after that she will conjoin Mercury in Pisces and conversations during the evening could drift all over the place. This is a good time to sit quietly and contemplate what has happened over the past lunar month. A little internal housekeeping may be in order before tomorrow’s New Moon.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces takes place first thing Sunday morning and the Pisces Moon will conjoin Neptune during the afternoon. It would behoove us to tune into the basic Pisces message of compassion and empathy too because this is the day Mars will conjoin Uranus in Aries, a “my way or the highway” aspect. Be careful not to throw away valuable connections in a moment of temper.

One key to handling what comes our way this week is to listen to the voice of reason, represented by well aspected Mercury in Aquarius. Another way is to follow Pisces’s example and listen closely to what our intuition has to say. I believe in seeking peaceful, win-win solutions and avoiding violence in either words or deeds if at all possible. Be careful out there this week and please pay close attention when driving because road rage is one way the Mars energy may manifest now. Practice patience and kindness every day!
