Week of July 10, 2017

We can breathe a sigh of relief this week. The sky is a lot less turbulent with hardly anything going on . . . a nice change after the last couple of weeks. We need these breaks in the action to slow down and regroup.

Mercury in Leo gets busy this week with three aspects charging it up. Mercury is inconjunct Neptune in Pisces on Thursday night, then sextile Jupiter in Libra on Friday and finally inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn Sunday. What we will need to do is take extra time to verify all incoming information before we act on it. Attention seekers of all stripes are probably going to push way beyond the boundaries of accuracy. The more drama the better is a strong possibility. When Mercury runs into Pluto on Sunday, those exaggerations could come back to haunt those who made them. It is a good time to be straight forward and honest to a fault.

The Cancer Sun will be inconjunct Saturn in Sagittarius on Friday. The Cancer Sun is not going to be a happy camper when faced with Saturn’s restrictions. The hardest part is Cancer seldom understands Sagittarius’s reasoning which in turn creates plenty of resentment on both sides because Sagittarius doesn’t get where Cancer is coming from either. We can end up with the potential for a “no win” scenario. We all need to work harder at being more accepting without judgment.

The nice thing about having planets in all four elements is no matter what sign the Moon is in, she gets both sweet and sour aspects. We see this in action on Monday when the Aquarius Moon is cheered by a trine to Venus in Gemini midday and enjoys lively repartee with Mercury in Leo late afternoon. Interactions with friends, coworkers, etc ought to go well today, thanks to the warmth Venus and Mercury add to the normally too detached Aquarius Moon. All of this gets our work week off to a nice start.

Well before dawn on Tuesday the Aquarius Moon will be trine Jupiter in Libra, a great aspect for seeking long term solutions. During the evening, the Moon will be sextile Saturn in Sagittarius which bodes well for combining business and pleasure. Do be careful to tread lightly when it comes to other people’s feelings though during the day . . . something the detached Aquarius Moon needs reminding about.

A sextile to innovative Uranus in Aries early Wednesday morning marks the time when the Aquarius Moon goes void-of-course for a few hours. Once she glides into Pisces during the morning, she’ll be swimming along making no aspects until very, very early Thursday morning. Adding a touch more water to the sky allows for opportunities to be tune into our inner guidance, always helpful when navigating emotional mind fields.

Thursday the Pisces Moon runs into rougher waters and moodiness ensues. This will be especially noticeable midday when she conjoins Neptune, increasing everyone’s sensitivities. Some may choose to leave if things get too loud. An evening sextile to stern Pluto in Capricorn will settle the dust and restore order.

On Friday a late morning trine to Mars in Cancer helps us stay on task but also marks the beginning of a void-of-course period lasting until late afternoon/early evening. The Moon leaps into fiery Aries Friday evening and kick starts a lively weekend. Finishing up our Friday “to do” list on the job will probably take more effort than usual.

Of the two weekend days, Saturday is far and away the better day to be around friends and family. The Aries Moon is enlivened by a sextile to light-hearted Venus in Gemini during the afternoon while an opposition to Jupiter in Libra brightens the evening hours. It is a great day to enjoy being out and about doing something.

Sunday has a far more contentious atmosphere. The day starts off well with the Aries Moon making a calming trine to Saturn in Sagittarius but the afternoon finds her squabbling with the Cancer Sun and Mars. The final touch is a conjunction with volatile Uranus during the evening. Saturday’s convivial atmosphere dissolves and solitary pursuits are favored. A “live and let live” attitude will produce better results than attempting to nag others into seeing things our way.

Quieter skies can be relaxing, and this week many of us can use the time to deal with the revelations following last weekend’s Full Moon in Capricorn. Tune into the ebb and flow of the Moon as she moves through the houses in your natal chart ruled by Aquarius, Pisces and Aries.

Note: Timing is averaged for EDT to PDT.
