Week of July 24, 2017

We are blessed with much quieter skies this week! Mercury will be leaving rambunctious Leo for calm, focused Virgo on Tuesday, reducing the drama a touch. As for major aspects there are only a few to keep an eye on. This means we can enjoy the first week of Leo Season!

Before Mercury changes signs, it will make an exciting trine to unconventional Uranus in Aries on Monday. I love this aspect for coming up with unique solutions. Once Mercury is in Virgo, it will stay awhile because it will be stationing retrograde in early August. It will return to Leo for about a week before stationing direct and after that Mercury will remain in Virgo until October 1. Since Mercury rules Virgo, it is quite comfortable there and we’ll benefit from this Mercury’s ability to keep track of important details.

Venus in Gemini has a tough time on Monday when Saturn in Sagittarius opposes her, reminding her to behave herself and color within the lines. She’ll bounce back quickly and when she is sextile quirky Uranus in Aries on the weekend, Venus will be back in fine form, happily playing the field.

What will help us set our New Moon in Leo intentions in motion this week is a powerhouse conjunction between the Leo Sun and Mars on Wednesday. There is nothing remotely subtle about this aspect! For those who have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 2° to 4° in the fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius), this may be just what is needed to take the next step towards personal goals. Downside is tempers will probably be running very hot too.

Monday a happy Leo Moon lights up the day. She starts her day sextile upbeat Jupiter in Libra, enjoys a pleasantly stabilizing trine to Saturn in Sagittarius during the afternoon and ends the afternoon sextile playful Venus in Gemini. This looks very favorable for interacting with others in all capacities.

Tuesday has a decidedly different feel to it thanks to the Moon moving into earthy Virgo before dawn and Mercury joining her in Virgo during the late afternoon/early evening. It will be much easier to turn our attention to work again . . . probably a good thing.

A midday trine between the Virgo Moon and Pluto in Capricorn on Wednesday keeps the workaday theme going. We may as well set aside party plans for the evening too when the Virgo Moon squares Saturn in Sagittarius.

We wake up to a void-of-course Virgo Moon Thursday morning, getting the day off to a slow start. The pace picks up mid-morning when the Moon shifts into affable Libra. She’ll end her day on a convivial note when she is sextile the Leo Sun-Mars conjunction. Thursday evening is far better for party plans.

Friday the Libra Moon conjoins Jupiter midday before squaring Pluto in Capricorn late afternoon/early evening which suggests those who start their weekends early could run into problems with the boss.

Of the two weekend days, Saturday looks more promising for social activities, at least during the day. The Libra Moon makes a happy sextile to flirtatious Venus in Gemini midday, followed by a provoking opposition to Uranus in Aries, after which she goes void-of-course until late afternoon/early evening. Once the Moon enters reserved Scorpio, we may find ourselves much less interested in being around lots of people.

Turn the volume down early Sunday morning or risk getting snarled at when the Scorpio Moon squares the Leo Sun and Mars. This is a better day for working alone on personal projects than being out in public. The day does end on a peaceful note when the Scorpio Moon is trine soothing Neptune in Pisces.

Fire signs continue to dominate the sky this week though having Mercury in earthy Virgo will help offset the impulsiveness to a degree. For those who enjoy a bold, dramatic approach the energy this week is very favorable. If you are among those who prefer a quieter environment, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday will be more comfortable. Enjoy the warmth and enthusiasm of Leo Season, everyone.
