Week of November 13, 2017

A pair of very different squares bookends this week with several far more pleasant aspects in between. On Monday, Mercury in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces and next Sunday Mars in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn. The first square could have us swimming in a sea of denial and the second square can lead to misplaced aggression. It’s the pleasant aspects that will help keep us sane! There will be no overlooking the potent New Moon in Scorpio on Saturday either.

Very early Monday morning Venus will conjoin her favorite buddy Jupiter in Scorpio. Passion is one of Scorpio’s things and this conjunction promises to generate a great deal of it. Whether we focus this passion on romance or gold depends on our individual needs and desires. It is important to be aware we may experience the “too much of a good thing” phenomena with this conjunction. Later in the week Venus in Scorpio will make a flowing trine to Neptune in Pisces. This occurs on Thursday and brings a gentle, loving vibe with it.

Mercury in Sagittarius has an interesting week since it squares Neptune in Pisces on Monday before going on to make a more productive sextile to Mars in Libra on Friday. Mercury-Neptune hard aspects can create a lot of problems for us if we aren’t very careful. It is easy to get caught up in a tidal wave of denial and when the wave recedes revealing the truth, the resulting pain can be severe. The Mercury-Mars sextile may help but I doubt if it will be a complete cure all. Stay vigilant and plan on reviewing decisions made early this week before acting on them.

The cardinal Mars-Pluto square on Sunday is potentially a huge “ouch”. Pluto in Capricorn is probably going to steamroll right over poor Mars in Libra. An aggressive approach when dealing with authority figures is unwise at this time but the need to take action is typically the default reaction with cardinal signs. My recommendation is to choose as neutral a position as possible for now. Mars won’t be in Libra all that long and when he shifts into Scorpio on December 9, it should be possible to come up with workable options.

The New Moon in Scorpio is perfect for diving into our inner landscapes and making inroads into understanding why we do what we do. We have an interesting mix of tart and sweet aspects in this lunar chart to keep things interesting.

Since we start the week with a void-of-course Virgo Moon and that Mercury-Neptune square, Monday is far better for catching up on old business and handling routine matters than launching something new. The Moon arrives in sociable Libra late afternoon/early evening and those who feel the urge to socialize ought to have a pleasant time.

Tuesday is by far the better day for being productive, especially if we need to interact with other people. The Libra Moon is generally in a good mood during the day though she might get a bit snippy in the evening when she conjoins Mars.

Late afternoon on Wednesday the Libra Moon connects with the Saturn-Uranus trine before she goes void-of-course for the night. If you can, schedule meetings etc earlier in the day if possible because working independently will be better later on.

From the time the Moon glides into Scorpio during the wee hours Thursday morning until she leaves for fiery Sagittarius late Saturday night, the energy flows deeply and smoothly along. Thursday have a very nice feel to it, thanks to the Moon conjoining Jupiter. Friday’s energy is more assertive because the Moon will be sextile Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto in the morning. We’re late in the lunar cycle so focus on completing old business. It is a great time to get serious about cleaning out closets, garages etc to make room for the possibility of something new. Socially it is a quiet time, better for small gatherings or being alone with your significant other.

The New Moon in Scorpio occurs before dawn on Saturday, marking the beginning of a short void-of-course. Once the Moon dashes into lively Sagittarius, she will draw our attention outward again. Both Saturday and Sunday are great for heading out to attend sporting events, big family gatherings and spending time doing outdoor activities. Do keep in mind the atmosphere may be tense due to the Mars-Pluto square, so keeping things light and breezy is a good idea.

This is not the best time to be launching new projects between that pesky Mercury-Neptune square and this being the last week in the lunar cycle. We may think we’re mapping out the perfect route to future success and instead end up deep in some murky swamp. Stick to the familiar tasks and normal routines for now. This last week of Scorpio Season is the perfect time to clear the dead wood out of our lives before Sagittarius Season blows in next week.
