Week of March 26, 2018

This week is about as Aries as this Aries Season is going to get this year because once Venus trips happily into Taurus on Saturday, we’ll only have the Sun, Mercury and Uranus in Aries. So all you fire folk out there enjoy the heat while you can!

Keeping the Aries energy fired up this week is a Venus-Uranus conjunction in Aries on Wednesday, a Sun-Mercury conjunction in Aries on Sunday and a combative square between the Aries Sun and Saturn in Capricorn on Thursday.

The Venus-Uranus conjunction takes place on Wednesday and it will be the last one for years and years. Uranus will be in Taurus for good by the time Aries season rolls around next year. There is something wild and reckless about this conjunction, and that can create relationship problems. Those who are footloose and fancy free can have some fun with this but those who have existing commitments need to think before acting impulsively.

Nothing says subjective like the Aries Sun-retrograde Mercury conjunction. The tendency to think only of what we want as individuals will be strong and with Mercury retrograde decisions made now will most likely be overturned later on. Needless to say, this is not a great influence for making life changing choices.

Saturn in Capricorn is noted for standing firm and as many times as the Aries Sun rams his head into Saturns’s wall, it probably won’t budge. Frustrating as it may be, it might be better to step back and put plans on hold for now. No point in wasting more time and energy going nowhere, right?

Venus heaves a sigh of relief whenever she returns to Taurus. Calm, sensual Taurus is one of her two home signs and everyone benefits from her all too brief stay in this earth sign. It is a great time to schedule a relaxing massage, cook up a storm including dessert and taking leisurely walks in nature. Taurus and Libra folk could finally decide they can take some much needed downtime to de-stress.

All of the above factors are in play on the Full Moon in Libra Saturday. While the Libra Moon does provide a touch of air, it probably won’t offset the strong cardinal earth influence. We’ll need to dig deep to be fair, objective and strive for justice.

The lunar week starts off with a rush of fiery energy. The Moon enters outgoing Leo at daybreak, giving us five planets in fire to brighten Monday and Tuesday. This is wonderful for getting together with people whether at meetings, for lunch or happy hour after work. That’s not to say we don’t have to tend to business because we do. Mars and Saturn in Capricorn remind the Leo Moon of that fact on Monday. On Tuesday Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Scorpio keep us on task. This is about as fiery as Aries Season is going to be this year, so all you fire signs soak it up while you can.

Wednesday the Moon enters Mercury ruled Virgo during the morning and the happy vibes will gradually slip away. We can get overly preoccupied with petty details during Virgo Moon when Mercury is retrograde, and we’ll need to consciously work around that tendency.

It is some better Thursday in an odd sort of way. The Virgo Moon will oppose Neptune in Pisces during the morning, blurring the edges of reality for awhile. We may have better luck pursing routine tasks that require less concentration in order to keep us from making serious errors. The Virgo Moon will go void-of-course in the night and it will be midday on Friday before she reaches airy Libra.

Friday appears to be one the better days this week. Having the Moon in an air sign for a change and Mercury finally getting back up to speed in reverse, may give us the edge we need to tackle any missteps made earlier in the week. The Libra Moon makes no aspects until very late Friday night, and those are bracing squares to Mars and Saturn in Capricorn.

It might be a good idea to plan some sort of structured activity over the weekend. The Full Moon in Libra takes place Saturday morning and putting the highly charged energy to good use is the best option. Combining social activities with projects designed to help the community as a whole is one way to direct this energy.

Sunday is one of those days when being by ourselves and pursuing personal goals may work out better than coordinating with others. The Libra Moon opposes Uranus in Aries midday before going void-of-course until late afternoon/early evening. After the Moon arrives in reserved Scorpio, a quiet evening with those closest to us may work out well.

The week leading up to the Full Moon is usually a busy one, and with Mercury gradually picking up speed again, we can make progress towards our goals . . . as long as we’re careful not to get too far ahead of ourselves. It is a good time to take note of what’s working and what’s not, so we can make the necessary adjustments though we might want to wait until after the New Moon before making the final commitment to moving ahead.
