The skies are busy this week as we approach Taurus Season. The Sun will amble into earthy Taurus on Thursday, signaling a big change in where we need to place our attention. We have two outer planets in earth stationing retrograde this week, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn plus few major aspects round out the picture, just to keep things interesting.
We have more soothing aspects with lovely Venus in Taurus early in the week which is good preparation for Taurus Season. After the adrenaline rush that’s Aries Season, we can use the help slowing down enough to appreciate living in the now. Those of us who typically live in the fast lane can really get revved up when the Sun is in Aries and it can take conscious effort to move into the slow lane . . . which is much better for our mental and physical health.
Tuesday Venus will oppose Jupiter in Scorpio in the wee hours of the morning and be trine Pluto in Capricorn at dawn. Both aspects are quite favorable for taking a long look at our budgets and coming up with common sense ideas to improve our financial situation. Of course, both are perfect for expressing our feelings in tangible ways too.
Aries Season does end with a bang this year, thanks to the Aries Sun conjoining Uranus on Wednesday. This is the last time we’ll experience an Aries Sun-Uranus conjunction for many, many years because by the time the Sun reaches Aries next year, Uranus will be in Taurus full time. One last primal scream of ‘my way or the highway’ is one way to look at this aspect. Those who have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 27° to 29° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will notice the punch from this the most. Interestingly enough, the often dramatic turn of events that occur as the result of a Uranus transit has usually been building for quite some time whether we have acknowledged that consciously or not. The chance of ‘do overs’ after this are extremely unlikely, what’s over is over.
Like most outer planets stations, both Saturn and Pluto have been standing on the same degree for several weeks so there should be few surprises. Saturn has been at been at 9° Capricorn since April 4 and Pluto has been at 21° Capricorn since March 19. Saturn will station retrograde on Tuesday and Pluto on Sunday. We often end up reviewing issues related to the areas being transited in our charts during the retrograde period, no bad thing in most cases.
After the Sun enters Taurus on Thursday, the balance shifts even more to the earth and water side of the equation. We may as well get used to this because this situation isn’t going to change any time soon. This is very good for learning to get comfortable in the moment and focus on the simple pleasures of life. Take time to sit in the sun and relax. If there are parks close by full of fresh spring blooms, enjoy a calming stroll to smell the flowers. 🙂
We get a preview of Taurus Season the first of the week with the Moon in Taurus until early Wednesday morning. Taking care of the practicalities usually goes well with the Taurus Moon in charge. She is very well grounded both Monday and Tuesday with aspects to the Capricorn planets. A sensible, business-like approach will go over well with everyone in the work place. Late Tuesday afternoon the Moon will go void-of-course following a delightful conjunction with Venus in Taurus. Comfort food for dinner anyone?
Wednesday and Thursday the Moon will be in lively, airy Gemini. She’ll happily feed Mercury in Aries, now direct and ready for action on Wednesday. Wednesday is also the day the Aries Sun conjoins Uranus so the need to act independently will be quite strong. Thursday the Gemini Moon starts her day square deceptive Neptune in Pisces and she never quite gets herself back online. Our minds will be much sharper on Wednesday, making it the better day to work on sensitive projects requiring clear thinking. Even though the Moon won’t be void-of-course on Thursday, working on simple, routine tasks will probably be a wiser option.
The Sun arrives in Taurus late Thursday and early Friday morning the Moon glides into home loving Cancer. Friday through midday Sunday is a wonderful time to do things that nurture us and our loved ones. On Friday having the Moon in cardinal Cancer will actually give us a needed energy boost to finish up our work week in good order.
Saturday there will be a Grand Trine in water (Cancer Moon, Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces). For those who love to get their fingers in the dirt, this is perfect energy for gardening, whether it is a pot on the windowsill or a full-fledged garden! It is also great for family time because this Grand Trine offers gentle guidance on being sensitive to those we care about.
The Cancer Moon will be void-of-course Sunday until midday when the Moon shifts into exuberant, outgoing Leo. The second half of the day is favorable for being around people and partying in general. Not a bad way to end the week!
We go from Aries fireworks to easy going Taurus this week plus those pesky outer planet stations. Shifting from rushing about madly to a slow, steady pace may take some getting used to and there might be a bump or two in the process. However Taurus’s idea of proper pacing is far better suited to getting back up to speed following last weekend’s Mercury station as well as handling Saturn and Pluto stationing retrograde this week. It’s been a hectic Aries Season and all but hardcore adrenaline addicts will feel relief when it’s over.
