We get treated to Scorpio style tough love on this Full Moon at 09° 39′ Scorpio on 29 April 2018, 05:59 PM PDT, and we’ll likely experience this most keenly in our one-on-one relationships. Scorpio tends to be a ‘rip off the bandage’ type and is quite good at excising toxic energy when necessary for the overall health of those involved.
The two major factors contributing to the considerable strength of this Scorpio Full Moon are the conjunction between Scorpio’s rulers, Mars and Pluto, as well as Saturn in Capricorn harmoniously aspecting the luminaries. Saturn is trine the Taurus Sun and sextile the Scorpio Moon which suggests hard work and discipline are needed to produce the best outcome. Mars and Pluto are conjoined in Capricorn, the sign Saturn rules, and that underscores how profound the changes initiated on the lunation will be. There is simply no wiggle room for escaping the consequences of our actions. Abusive behaviors will no longer be tolerated, and many will do whatever is necessary to put a stop to those. At heart Scorpio is a healer, and if that means taking a knife to open old wounds in order to drain them, so be it.
Saturn has other planets under his thumb too. He is still squaring Mercury in Aries and is inconjunct poor Venus in Gemini. The square to Mercury is now waning so there is a good chance most will be almost finished clearing up past misunderstandings. However, the inconjunct to Venus in Gemini is waxing (exact on May 1) with Saturn taking all the fun out of life for Venus. Venus in Gemini is happiest indulging in light flirtations and generally being the life of the party. Being under Saturn in Capricorn’s stern eye can make anyone feel guilty even when they know their motives are pure.
The Mars-Pluto conjunction does benefit from a sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio. This increases the likelihood of a positive outcome, in part because Jupiter knows the importance of having the right attitude. He can help us see the glass as half full rather than half empty. It may take a fair amount of time to see how the choices/actions taken now were for the best but we’ll get there. Jupiter is also part of another peaceful influence because he makes a wide, waxing trine to Neptune in Pisces.
Uranus has reached 29° Aries and is unaspected on this lunation. We’re now in the final countdown to Uranus shifting into Taurus on May 15, and those of us who have personal planets and/or Angles at 29° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) are dealing with endings of some kind. It will be the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) who will have their lives messed with next, and they are not noted for handling changes with ease. Interesting times!
The only monsters under the bed on this Scorpio Full Moon we need to be careful of are those of our own creating. Surviving this intense time may mean learning to trust our own judgment again, a very Scorpio lesson. Trusting ourselves is the key to learning to trust others. Now is the time to practice patience, kindness and compassion . . . especially for the person in the mirror.
Note: Timing is averaged for EDT to PDT.
